Buy them a $30 case? How about gave them a case that retails for $30 but costs Apple maybe $0.05 cents to product and pay the little kids in the factory to make them...they gave them a band-aid to fix their huge design flaw! At least Apple is owing up now...must be cuz Steve is gone...surprised we didn't hear..."you're charging it wrong!"

You can bet that Apple, Microsoft, and Google will all be hitting up HP to see how much $$ is need to come off all those patents that came with Palm...Microsoft had been eyeing Motorola til Google swooped in. HTC is possible but would they still ship Android and WP7? If so that's a lot of OS's to deal with and I don't see them dropping either one or both to bet all their money on WebOS.

Exactly! How about ditching the enormous charging/data port and go with a nice little micro usb port? I bet that will save some space too! Plus they can then sell the rights to produce "apple approved" accessories to any and all headphone companies as it will cause everyone to need to buy a new pair. I bet the charging port is next...make everyone need to get a new ihome and car chargers as well.

Software wise Samsung has done nothing...I personally hate TouchWiz (it is an iphone knock-off)and other than Bada (or whatever it's called)those are the only mobile software's I can think of that they developed...but they are not a software company so it should be expected. They specialize in hardware and do a damn good job there. I want to see what they are able to do with the flexible AMOLED displays that should be ready Q2 of 2012.

Well 70 million people bought a Samsung phone in Q1 of 2011 and they made $9.7 billion during that time frame. The Galaxy S also outsold the iphone in Japan during Q1...another sign that the Japanese are smarter than Americans  Not to mention every iphone 4 and ipad has an A4 processor in it made by none other than Samsung and the ipad 2 has the Samsung A5! 4.0 runs like a turd on the 3G. Just Google "downgrade iphone 3G to 3.1.3". It might take 4 hours of your life but I downgraded my brother iphone 3G a few weeks ago because the thing was so incredibly laggy it was ridicules that Apple even released a 4.0 version for the phone. I think they did it to make people with the 3G have to upgrade to a 3GS or 4.

That's because Sun's CEO was not a long time best friends with Jobs like Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is. That said, I can see Google making out a seven figure check to Oracle. Even though Oracle did not "write" the code they did purchase Sun along with all their IP which would include any code used in the standard JVM. Like Blue said, Google knew what they were doing when the hire the ex Sun devs and used them to ...

Nextel was a mess because of iDen and the fact that Sprint was ,and possibly still is, trying to sell the iDen network. iDen is a dead technology now and was on its way down when Sprint purchased them. The only thing iDen had to offer was PTT which only contractors use any more. T-Mobile on the other hand is kinda a GMS version of Sprint. AdMob ,which Google owns, already offers an open source ad mediation tool called AdWhirl which allows ads from other networks and they’ve already added support for iAd. So yes you will see iAd used in Google apps but not vice versa. Google is already allowing other ad service to make money and Apple is also allowing other ad companies to make money as long as their name isn’t AdMob. My personal option as to why they are "blocking" AdMob is ...

The funny part about Apple allowing Greystripe is that they use Adobe Flash along with HTML5 for their ads and Apple will continue to allow them to do so. The Pre is not locked down at all once you put the phone is "Dev mode". The VZW Pre is only locked down at the a-GSP level from my understanding and there has been a "patch" created by the WebOS Internals team that fixes that. I had the Hotspot app on my Sprint Pre before the Pre Plus even launched on VZW. Also people outside the US have installed the HotStop app on their Pre as well.
