I walked into the devil store, Sam's Club, and used their kiosk which is operated by Radio Shack. You do NOT need to be a member of Sams Club to purchase the phone. As you enter Sam's just tell the door person that you are visiting the pharmacy or buying liquor. You need not be a member of Sams to use the pharmacy nor buy liquor/beer.

I downloaded calendar pad and after some customization, I am pretty content...not elated...but content.
However, until the calendar is fixed across time zones, the calendar is useless. If I am in Ohio and set an appointment for 3pm and then travel to California, the calendar now sets my appointment for noon. This is a known problem.

Yes. I use tripit and a paid version of pageonce. Travel itineraries are not the problem it's the meetings associated with travel that are out of sync.

The calendar is still horrible. It's pretty much useless for those that travel. However, it's a google issue more so than Android.

However, I really like the phone and will probably keep it and not go back to my blackberry. Obviously, blackberry has the best calendar application ever known to mankind.
I keep searching for a better calendar app but have yet to find one...either paid or free.

I figured this out today. I signed out of facebook on the phone and deleted my facebook account from the phone. There are 2 facebooks, one is the app and the other is native to HTC Sense (I hate that Android phones do that stuff) and then I resynced with Google. Rebooted the phone. Me too...but I think it's a matter of the meter and not a matter of function because my wi fi works fine all the way to the back yard.

Right, I understand the cable. It didn't work with the cable. When I plugged it into the laptop, Evo asked me to select 1 of the 4 options. I choose internet sharing and it did it's thing. Then, error 67 appeared telling me that the PCS vision user name/password is wrong.

Calendar
I was able to snag an Evo at the Radio Shack inside Sam's Club. I hate Walmart with a passion but was picking up a prescription and happened to walk by the kiosk and jokingly asked, "do you have any Evos in stock" and one was left. At any rate, I am a bit off task right now...

Yes they did the same thing to me. But I emailed them and said I've been with them for 9 years and they moved me to premiere status the next day. I am typing this response on the Evo and its much better than the Hero. I jokingly asked at the radio shack located inside tgat dreadful sams club if they had any in stock and they had 3 in stock.

Calendar
For those that already bought this .... how is the calendar app? I currently use a blackberry curve which I love just because of the calendar. BB calendar alerts when there are conflicts... and the reason I returned my Hero was because the android calendar was crap. I wonder if it's the same calendar.

Seriously, I drove by the major Sprint store and not a soul. I passed the one out by Kenwood Towne Centre and it appears that a few customers were milling about.

I have anxiously been awaiting this phone as well as many others. The reason why I returned my first Sprint droid phone (i already forget what it's called) is because of the horrible calendar integration. When I saw that the EVO has has the exact same calendar set up as the other droid phone, I immediately said, "no thanks!" The calendar is horrible, it doesn't alert you of overlapping appointments and I do recall the alrms ...

hot spot charge/calendar
Do you think sprint will charge for hot spot? that kind of sucks since it's built into the phone already.
Also, I can only hope and pray that the calendar was overhauled to resemble the best calendar available: blackberry.
BB calendars are by far, the best. I had to return my HTC Hero for the sole reason that the calendar app was sub-par.

I couldn't have said this better myself. I have used iphone and android OS and I will be the first to say that the iphone has an excellent OS. Android is just all over the place and the apps are not monitored and controled the way Apple does. The apps selections for iphone are the best in my opinion.
