Verizon Wireless Release
What is Verizon waiting for? Does anybody know ? Two other major carriers have released this phone. One in black, No Big Deal. Same phone. I can purchase it on Amazon or Best Buy but I don’t want to. Only because, I’m hoping Verizon is working with BB and TCL on a Version like was released in India? One can only hope!
Non Removable Battery
The fact I cannot remove the battery & swap it with a fully charged one up till recently was a deal breaker for me however, I am seeing & hearing such good feedback on this device that I may just have to overlook this. In the past, I have always had spare batteries for my Blackberrys. Never being caught without a charge! How about a Hybrid?
Does Anybody know if there's anything on the horizon with a "hybrid" Sprint/Iden/Cdma BlackBerry. You would get the best of both worlds. Cdma for your cellular & data,Plus the Iden ptt, not q-talk??? Or have they given up on the hybrids?

I have not seen the phone yet, but I'm told No Auto open button. I love that feature!

I have used both & they both work very well. The 850 is a little bigger & has a flip boom mic. The 500 has no boom & is a little smaller. You can also turn off the blinking light on the 500, you cannot on the 850. I believe there's one other thing that the 500 does, that the 850 doesn't do like allowing you to do three way calling through the unit. One down side to the ...

I find the H500 to be the best out of three of the Motorola's I've used. The H850 is as good as however, a little bulky, long boom & you can't shut the blinking light. The H700, small unit, small boom, very nice style & you CAN turn the blinking light off. BUT, Don't waste you money. They haven't got the bugs out of this one yet. If you hold the upper & lower volume controls down together at the same time, that will shut the blinking light. Great device, I wish the H700 which is a little smaller worked as well.

Why does it show missed one call "unknown" if the person that called you is in your phone book. It should really show that contacts name???

FYI. For those of you that have disabled you EDVO to save you battery, when you do what Verizon calls there "upgrade of roaming" *228, it turns on your EDVO back on!

Phone Froze up
Happened during direct connect conversation. Screen went Blue, had to shut down. Was able to do a normal shut down. Everything Fine Now! Anybody Else?
Battery
Will the battery from the i860 (SNN5705B) fit the 1870? The battery that came with the i870 has a slightly different shape by the connectors!

Unless I'm doing something wrong, the phone does NOT turn back on if you set the date book reminder alarm. The phone remains off. :(
Sim Card
Does anyone know if a sim card from the i870 can be used in an i860 without loosing anything? Pictures, songs etc. I would like to use my 860 for work and my 870 for play. :)

I have had the phone freeze up on me several times. I had to physically remove the battery from the unit to shut the phone down, then put it back in & restart the phone. I now reboot the phone once or twice a day, I find that the phone does not freeze up when I do this. Other then that, no other problems what so ever. This is a very good phone!

How does the 500 compare to the 850? I have the 850 & I'm not crazy about it, I can't get good sound volume out of it. I think the 850 is a little smaller however if the sound quality is better on the 500, I would consider changing. Thank You.

Verizon is now selling the extended battery for the 815 on there web site with a $20 mail in rebate. Comes out to be the same price as the reg battery. Also, it doesn't state this on the web site, but it comes with the extended back door. I called to make sure!

Reverse Swivel Holster
Let me explain. A Swivel Holster that holds the phone "Face In" so that #1 the Front Screen of the phone is protected. #2 you don't light up a dark room when you recieve a call! I know that the back of the 815 is NOT the most attractive part of this phone however, I personally would feel more comfortable with the phone facing in. Blue Tooth headsets
Motorola, Jabra, Plantronics, any opinions? My wife and I are arguing. I am using a Motorola 850, which I find to be quite adiquite. She has a Plantronic none BT which she was using on her i95. She is going to upgrade to the i870 when it comes out. She is very stubborn and wants to get a Plantronic BT. Any takers on this. Thank you
