Touch Key Pad Problem When Using Calendar
Mar 20, 2009, 2:57 PM
in the LG Versa VX-9600 forum

Can someone try something for me? I'm trying to figure out if this phone has a bug with the calendar or was it operator error. I use the onboard touch keypad instead of the qwerty Keypad, in fact, the qwerty Keypad is not even attach to my phone. When I create an event in the calendar, I was having trouble entering text in the subject field using the onboard touch keypad in landscape mode. I can enter any text in ...

I have a spare barely used 9900 for sale. I've only activate it and use it for a couple of days to make sure there is nothing wrong with the phone. I bought it as a spare for my spouse just in case, but the phone has been great and he does not need to use the spare. Just email me and make an offer if anyone is interested.

Has anyone noticed the inconsistency of this document? If you download the External Photos under the Exhibit Type, it listed as a Tri-Mode Dual-Band w/Bluetooth Phone. Unless there is an error, isn't this phone supposed to be a digital only phone? Can anyone confirm this? If it has tri-mode, EVDO/VCast w/BT, I'll definitely will get one and try it out.

From what I understand, the rebate is only $50. I have heard many people said you can't get the rebate unless you sign up with a plan, but I have purchased many phones at retail and have not had any problem getting rebate but once. I called VZW CS and they told me I was not supposed to get the rebate on retail phones, but since I was told by the sales rep that I can, they went ahead ...

Re: TransFlash Card Question

motoman82, let me see if I can help. Remember, I screwed up my transflash card and am too cheap also not having enough time to go get another one, so, I'm just going by memory (that's a scary thing). If you go to menu, then go to media after you insert your new card, go to picture and select that, then hit menu again, you should see an option to format your transflash card. If not, you may have ...

The best way to compare carrier is to try it out yourself. Cingular does not work well in my area and VZW does, but that does not mean it will be the same for you. The best thing you can do is try their service out first before you make the jump, but do test it as thoroughly as you can since you do have 15 to 30 days to try it out, just make sure it will work ...

Tightwad usually refers to someone that is very frugal, meaning somewhat penny-pinching, get it?  No need to apologize, I understand the anticipation, I, myself will like to try out the 8100 also, but I got a feeling the 815 will win out as far as reception goes.

Sorry, I've been really busy between work, family and pets since I will be out of town for a couple of weeks for work and play. BTW, have you noticed my username? I'm not as tight as someone else I know, but I definitely can use a squirk of WD40 on my wallet from time to time. I'll see if I get time to get another transflash card, but I can't promise it will be soon. Sorry to burst ...

I have the latest .OR flash on my 710 and the phone never freeze. I think there is something wrong with the card itself and I'll see if I can get it exchanged. I formatted the transflash with the E815 and it works great on both phone, I've been taking pictures with my E815 and copy it to the 710 since the picture quality is much better in the E815. As to whether or not the card work on ...

Sorry guys, I've been busy farting around with the DUN profile on my phone while trying to get 5 min video on the transflash card; somehow I f***ed up the card and it's unusable now. I'll try to get another card sometime this week and see if I can get the video on the card. Is there anyone out there can step up to the plate and help? It really pissed me off when I screwed up my card, ...

Unless they change it in the production phones, the charging port is the same. I agreed that they should change the charging port design so it make it easier for users, but I also like the idea of being able to use all my accessories from the V710. I have had a lot of Moto phones in the past with VZW and Nextel, and I have not had any problem with the charging port. The trick is to press ...

I forgot to mentioned that another guy has the same software version as I did, and he was able to copy files back and forth between phone and Transflash card. I will be picking up a 256Mb Transflash card tomorrow instead of looking all over for 512Mb card so I can test that out too.

Yeah, I saw the same message posted here about someone claimed to know the back door as motoman82 stated, but I haven't seen anything since, so, we can sum it up as BS. Someone in HoFo also claimed OBEX is working on his engineering model, he was able to pair with his Ipaq and see all the files in the E815. Yes, you can definitely hide the icons under personalize and home screen option as you do with the V710. As far as the key pads, it's definitely feel a lot sturdier than the V710. I really didn't know how flimsy the keypad on the V710 until I used the E815. I think the phone is overall much sturdier. As far as the camera on the phone, it has definitely improved from the V710. Once I get my MMS working ...

I agree, I don't really know what's the big deal about OBEX. I'd much rather have my cell phone being able to send/receive calls like a cell phone was meant to be, than having OBEX & BT fully functional, but can't hold onto a call if my life depends on it. As far as security, since I'm not in the cell phone field, I can't really comment very much on it, but I do know people are constantly trying ...

I thought I've read somewhere in HoFo where someone recommend you back up your software before flashing another version of software so you can revert back if needed, I could be wrong, but I thought I saw it on the V710 discussion thread. For example, I thought there was some reference to backing up your software before flashing the Super Dave's version software. Am I wrong on this or are they referencing something else. Hmm.... How did you get your phone? There must be different engineering demo phones with different version of software out there. I think there is a way to back up the original software, but you have to use MPT or PST to extract it. I don't really know the exactly sequence on how to do it. If anyone on this forum can guide me and I'll try to extract it.

I'm on the NSR plan and VZW system will not allow a non-trimode phone to be activated on that plan. They used to but not anymore. My hubby is on AC I, but he uses his phone for business, and it's kind of hard to borrow his line so I can test my phone. I'm getting ready to do some traveling around the 2nd week of June until probably in the middle of July, I will change my plan ...

For those of you that has the E815 already, what is your software version? Mine is 8720_01.14.00. I want to do a comparison and see if the version are the same on all the engineering demo and if the BT is fully functional on these model. I know for a fact that most of the feature are fully functional, just not sure if all are, and I know the production model willl probably be crippled, and I'm debating whether ...

No, I'm from Missouri. I've tried again and I can't get this darn phone activated. I know another guy that has the same engineering demo as I do and he's able to activate his (although he's on one of he AC plan, forgot which), but he's really liking his 815. I just wish I can get mine activated without having to change plan or add another line.

VZMoney, you're correct. VZW used to allow you to activate all digital phones on NSR, but I was told you're no longer able to do that. :( Since I live in the midwest, I saw in HoFo that supposedly with the new plan, you'd actually loose coverages in some places, especially in the midwest, that's why I'm still on NSR. In fact, I just talked to a VZW CS rep yesterday and I'll be changing over to the ...

Natas, I think you need to take a chill pill. I don't know what's your problem and careless to know. For those of us that have the engineering demo phones, these phones have not been loaded with the VZW crippling software yet, therefore, it is very much worth buying it. Even if it is loaded with VZW's crippling software, it's still people's choice whether or not they want this phone. I don't know why you are so hyper about ...

For those of you who has the E815, is it an engineering demo? I just got mine the other day and mine is an engineering demo. I have not had a chance to play with it yet, mainly because I'm having problem activating it on my NSR plan. FCC mandates that all carrier must maintain analog until Feb 2008, not sure what date it was set in Feb, but they can't just pull the plugs. I don't know what will happen after Feb of 2008 especially with small towns that has analog towers to support maybe a few hundred people. I think wireless phone manufacturers are getting us ready by producing less tri-mode phones, but it's definitely not going completely away yet, they just manufacture fewer and ...

I think typically when someone sells a non-released phone on ebay, they are more than likely a tester, but this is how they find problems with phones (I hope) and report their findings to the manufacturer, Moto will then make software adjustment as needed before final release. I know where you are coming from because chances of VZW disable some features are very good. I could be wrong, but I just think this phone may have one of the ...

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the phone on ebay? I seem to remember seeing one on ebay, but it was a V710 with the E-815 housing. It kind of concerns me that the display goes out on your phone periodically, hopefully you can get the phone re-flash with the new/released VZW version firmware, and it will fix the problem.
