MMS difficulty AT&T to T-Mobile
the subject line sort of says it all. i'm in new york and my friend is in arkansas. i have at&t and she has t-mobile (be nice). she sent me an MMS message yesterday afternoon and i received it around 5am this morning. any MMS that i send her won't show the picture.
i'm using a nokia 6555, she's on the new sidekick. any ideas?

what would have been a better response, in my opinion, would have been to ask him why he was unhappy with Verizon. the best way to figure out a customer's needs would have been to ask them questions or offer examples.

Tethering Question
i need to use my wireless phone as a modem for my laptop while i'm travelling. i was looking to use the new LG CU320 because it has the UMTS which would be great while i'm on the road, plus the megapixel camera and bluetooth for when i need it to make calls. i don't want to get a wireless data card since i won't be using the internet enough to need one. any suggestions or help is appreciated. ...

apparently some customer's found that since you get unlimited MMS with the media works plan that you could just attach an animation or a smiley face to make it an MMS instead of a text message and that would technically give you unlimited text.
it only sucks if the person receiving your messages doesn't have the same thing. otherwise it's 25 cents each time.

i agree in terms of the customer satusfaction serveys, since they have been rated poorly in many aspects. however, monetarily, the rebranding of a company can cause more problems then it solves. especially when you've got the legacy AT&T customers being told that they're at&t again, just that it's lowercase this time around. but who knows, whiteacre can be as ambitious as he wants, hopefully it doesn't bite him in end.

I doubt the name will actually change since they've put so much effort into branding everything with the name Cingular. however, since Cingular's reputation isn't quite "stellar", I would imagine their intent would be to essentially start over with a clean slate.

unfortunately both of your arguements are completely valid. what i think both of you are missing is that for any business to stay succcessful you need to find a common ground that both the company and the consumer can find stable footing. you can't expect a company to bend over backwards for every customer who has a complaint, or the company will go out of business, or in the case of AT&T Wireless, you get bought out by another ...

i was under the impression that as long as you got an unlocked phone, or got an unlock code you could use a GSM handset on any GSM provider. my friend was looking into getting one and someone in Cingular Customer Care told him that he could use the voice, but not the data because the "imaging" was different. i know Care used to tell customers the same thing when we had the RAZR and T-Mobil didn't and then ...

Open up the back of the phone and take out the battery while the phone is still on. this is called a "hard shock" and that usually fixes the problem. i've had to do it multiple times on my SE phones and it always gets the job done.

obviously in some areas it's going to be different. i'm in upstate new york and the coverage for nextel here isn't good at all. neither is sprint. if you don't have verizon or cingular you're out of luck.
i think above and beyond the coverage debate however, is the fact that PTT is intrusive, as people who have nextel in my call center don't turn their phones off, so when someone PTT's them, everyone can hear it. i don't see ...

yeah, i definitely agree with you since i have both a verizon and cingular phone as well. it's pretty much been wherever i am at least one of them works.
unfortunately i'll probably be getting rid of my verizon phone once christmas time hits. i just don't want to sign another contract and since i've been working at cingular most of my friend's have come over here. go figure.
and i have the cursed man bag as well.

CDMA technology hasn't been used overseas in about ten years. it's an old and outdated network that verizon is trying to keep alive.
you don't have to believe me, but local internet companies were saying the same thing when DSL and Cable internet was first being introduced. it's just new technology. some people join, others get buried. that's just the way of things.
it's ok though. i'm sure they'll come out with something else that beats GSM. we'll just have ...

i don't get why he hates the company that signs his paycheck so much. i mean, come on man, if i hated my job, i'd just quit. but luckily i manage a sales team, so the only time i have to geal with a difficult customer is when someone calls in and wonders why we can't match the price on wirefly or amazon.com and they want to speak to a supervisor.
