Re: EVO 189$ plus 50$ bing cashback

in the HTC EVO 4G forum

The waiting period says 1-2 weeks until it's in stock but realistically isn't Sprint going to fill their own stores with a surplus of phones before sending mass phones to Wirefly? I want the phone sooner rather than later but I don't want to deal with Sprint's mail in rebate B.S... Does anyone know if you can cancel your order before it ships if a bricks and mortar store happens to have a phone in stock and I buy ...

Release Date...???

Anyone hear any gossip on possible release dates? Anyone think it's possible by June 1 (the day I can upgrade)???

Re: Thinking about switching to Sprint for this device, but not convinced
Jun 23, 2009, 9:01 AM
in the Palm Pre (CDMA) forum

Phone is cheaply built, period. Palm spent their money on the operating system, Web OS. They didn't/don't have the funds to build superior software AND hardware on this current phone. Expect future phones to be real nice though if/when they get out of the red and start making some money. But yes cheaply built. I've already had the slider get stuck in the open position and am on my 2nd phone. Insurance is a must on this ...

Duplicate Contact Entries After Backup Restored to Pre #2
Jun 23, 2009, 8:28 AM
in the Palm Pre (CDMA) forum

I had to return my 1st Pre after the screen got stock open and would no longer slide shut (posted a thread yesterday about it) but after receiving the new phone and logging in to the Palm Profile to restore all the backed up information I noticed that many, if not all, of my phone contacts have duplicates. Some of them seemed to have linked themselves together automatically while the others are seen twice in the contacts list. It ...

Screen Stuck Open! HELP please!
Jun 22, 2009, 8:41 AM
in the Palm Pre (CDMA) forum

My Pre took a tumble on to the ground and now my screen is stuck in the open position with the keyboard exposed. It starts to slide closed about 1cm but then stops, and even with a medium amount of pressure it won't slide back in. Obviously I'm afraid to push too hard for fear of breaking it. Unfortunately upon taking the fall the phones plastic coating that coats the front sliding half of the phone cracked a ...

Bluetooth connectivity with my car...???
Jun 8, 2009, 12:15 PM
in the Article: Review: Palm Pre forum

I just bought a new 2009 Acura that comes with bluetooth built in. I'd be upgrading to this phone from an 8130 (BB Pearl), which wasn't on the list of phones that my car can connect with but it does actually connect with it. I was curious if anyone knows if this should/will connect with my car as I'm not certain how I can tell on paper if they'll be compatible. Also, does anyone know where I can ...

HELP! Tethering for non-business users
Nov 15, 2007, 10:40 AM
in the BlackBerry 8830 forum

I'm trying to tether my Blackberry to my dell laptop running XP and I've been unsuccessful to say the least. First off, I'm not using an enterprise server but I'm not sure if that makes a difference? I downloaded the Sprint Connection Manager from sprint.com/downloads and plugged my 8830 in then hit 'GO' and received an error message. "Unable to connect. Dial-up networking error #678 has occured. The remote computer did not respond. For further assistance ...

Release date in stores too?
Oct 31, 2007, 7:59 PM

I was just curious if each store will have the phone on the release date or if it will be restricted to online or possibly a select few stores as well?

No More iPhone Talk Please!
Oct 25, 2007, 7:24 PM
in the HTC Touch (CDMA) / XV6900 forum

For the love of god, I'm trying to get feedback on the HTC Touch, not on how incredible AT&T users feel their iPhone is. If you have the iPhone and love it, then why the **** are you coming to this forum. Nobody gives two ****s about the iPhone here, it's a completely different target market than anyone looking in to the HTC Touch. We all know the iPhone is a nice phone, but for the ...

Re: RIDDLE ME THIS???
Oct 23, 2007, 9:23 PM
in the HTC Touch (CDMA) / XV6900 forum

Don't forget about Windows Mobile 6, where you can actually use your cell phone for work related activities such as CORPORATE EMAIL and EDITING OFFICE DOCUMENTS, not to mention the ability to download programs to the phone. I believe the iPhone does none of the above, it could have been a pretty amazing phone if it incorporated even half the features the Touch has included. The touch will attract business users who in no way see any ...

Full Featured Windows Mobile Phone on the Way?????
Oct 17, 2006, 5:30 PM
in the AT&T forum

I haven't exactly been keeping up with the latest Windows Mobile gossip in recent months, but I've been eagerly awaiting for Cingular to offer a sleek Windows phone with both WiFi and GPS capabilities. Does anyone else feel my pain or know of any soon/gauranteed releases from Cingular in the near future??? My patiences is dwindling due to Cingular's lackadaisical behavior with their high end phone lineup and I'm extremely fed up with the abundance of crappy ...

Re: soft keys
Mar 22, 2006, 11:07 AM
in the Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon) forum

You really can't program the soft keys, normally they're set as 'start' and 'contacts', then they change as you go through the start menu for various applications...such as 'week' on the left soft key when in the calendar, and 'menu' as the right key. What I love about this phone is you can change the homescreen so you can see how many textmessages, voicemails and emails you have all at once while also providing easy access just by ...

Just curious how you go about overclocking the processor??? I've got the Audiovox 5600 running windows 2003, any possibility that it would work on my phone, it uses the same processor as the SDA to my knowledge.

Mar 21, 2006, 6:56 PM
in the Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon) forum

A little under two months ago I needed to have my Audiovox 5600 replaced by Cingular under the 1 year warranty. They said they no longer carry the 5600 and would have to give me the 2125 (wasn't complaining after hearing that news!). Sadly I received the 5600 in the mail and figured they still had a few leftover. Does anyone have any clue how much longer they'll have the 5600 in stock??? I know ...

Cingular Call Waiting Minutes Scam??
Dec 5, 2005, 6:15 PM
in the AT&T forum

I recently looked over my detailed call summary and noticed my minutes had been charged two times whenever I used call waiting. For example, if person A calls me at 9:00pm and I accept a call waiting call at 9:01 and speak for 5 minutes, I’m charged 6 times twice, 12 minutes. I spoke with a customer service representative and she informed me that this double charge only occurs if person A remains on the other line ...

Ironically I was just looking in to this today. CoPilot makes a GPS unit and provides software for about $300. It should be one of the best GPS products out there for smartphones, it took 1st place in 2005 from Pocket PC Magazine. The GPS unit connects via bluetooth too, which just adds to the wow factor. Check it out at www.alk.com. If you're looking for something different you can check out all of ...

Oct 16, 2005, 7:34 PM

I'm curious if my Audiovox SMT 5600 can upgrade to a newer version of Windows Mobile. Currently it's running Mobile '03 SE. Is there anyway to purchase or download an upgrade? Thanks.

I also had the same requirements as you when I decided to upgrade from my Moto V400 (also wanted bluetooth though). Personally I was bored with the moto Vxxx in general so chose to stay away from them. I scoured ebay for weeks, everything from Moto ROKR, Moto e398(older version of ROKR), high end Nokias, Sonys...pretty much looked in to every well rated phone on the market, flip, swivel, candy-bar styly, everything, even contemplated going to Verizon ...

Mobile Windows games?
Oct 16, 2005, 6:42 PM
in the Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon) forum

Does anyone know of a good website to download MS windows mobile games?? I've found many games for the Pocket PC operating system but would assume they will not work with MS mobile? I've never really been in to phone games but since I just bought the 5600 I just want to check them out.

Worth buying?? warranty??

in the Sony Ericsson K750 / W800 / D750 / W700 forum

I've been looking in to purchasing the Sony K750i, and I'm extremely impressed with the phone. I have also looked in to purchasing the Moto E398, they both seem like very similiar phones but the Sony has many advantages. I would most likely buy the Moto new for around $200, but I'm curious, if I buy the Sony used online on eBay will it not come with a warranty? Sounds like a stupid question but I ...

I was looking in to buying the Moto E398 but can't seem to find a US version of the phone with GSM 850 instead of 900. Can anyone tell me how good the coverage is on the Cingular network, or GSM at all for that matter without the 850 frequency??? Is it worth buying a phone without 850 for use in the US??? Thanks!

Is my Moto unlocked????
Sep 29, 2005, 1:59 PM
in the Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557 forum

I recently just had my Moto v400 replaced by Best Buy through my performance service plan. When the new phone arrived it did not have the Cingular badge at the bottom of the keypad like my old phone from Cingular had (it now just says 'V400'. I'm curious if this means my phone is unlocked or is there anyway I can find out if it is?

I actually was just looking in to upgrading my phone myself and logged in to my account online to check my upgrade status. The way I understand it, is that if you sign in to a two year agreement online you get the price quoted on the Cingular website along with an $18 fee. If anyone knows of a better way to cheat the system I would love to hear it, I don't exactly want to sign ...
