Re: Not available yet?
UPDATE:
They have a glitch in the system. I called back and was assured that it was available today and that it is only $99 w/2 year commitment
Not available yet?
I just got off the phone with AT&T. They told me that they were only taking pre-orders for the Inspire and that it would only be available in March.
I was also told that it would be $199 out of the gate with a 2 year contract.
I don't know what to think.
AT&T's Current Top 5
I've been out of the phone game for a while now. I'm considering bouncing from Verizon to AT&T. What are there current top 5 (or however many you want to tell me about) and why?
Re: Get it Now....you mean get more charges!
With the V710 you can either customize your home screen with the icons you want, or you can hide it alltogether. Just go into your menu/settings/personalize/Home Screen/Home Keys
And it is true that you have to not only arrow to the icon for GIN, but you also have to press ok on the shopping cart. If you are saying that this happened accidently, while the phone was folded (it is a flip phone, how are you accidently bumping the ...

It's a computer geek thing.

Re: Dropped call problem...
It really depends on where you are. Dropped calls are usually not a phone problem, they're more of a coverage area problem. If you only have the problem in your home you might want to get an outside antenna for your home, like a Yagi. That's probably the best solution.
It's hard to say why it's happening tho. I have the same phone and I rarely drop calls unless I'm out of the good coverage area.
Re: Just me or...
I hate them, I hate them, I hate them, I hate them!!!
I don't want to have to listen to cell phone, monophonic, crap quality music every time I call someone.
Give me my just plan old ring sound...I'll be fine. buzz(pause)buzz(pause)...ahhhh.

Re: help please
I'm sorry, but I have to reply to this.
Don't be such a know-it-all smug little jerk. You work for the industry, why would someone who does NOT work for the industry know the differences between phones?
Do you know the details of how a nuclear power plant is run? Well if you don't know the maximum water temperature allowed for safety at a nuclear power plant, well I guess that makes you an idiot doesn't it?
Don't ...
Re: SoHo
There are very few phones with that feature. The only way that any phone works closed is with the handsfree set.
But, I'll grab one and test it...hold on...
Nope...closing the phone ends the call.
Re: QUESTION?
I can't imagine, in my 5 years of experience in customer service call centers, that this is the norm. QA departments would flip out.
Bottom line, if you are nice to the CSR then the CSR will be nice to you. If the CSR doesn't have any idea what you are talking about...Thank them, hang up & call back or ask for a supervisor. So many people just get angry and then assume that all ...

Go to the Department of Labor website @

Others, if you aren't going to answer the questions, then why do you reply to the post. You have absolutely no idea why this question was being asked.
The Industry in 20 years...
This idea fascinates me. I could not imagine, in the ages of rotary dial phones, that I would have been walking around 25 years later with a little, shiny, pretty little box with which I can do all the cool things I can do now. (wireless communications, pictures, games, etc.)
What do you think we'll be seeing in 20 years?

Re: Keyboard Lighting Color?
The Verizon variant has the lengthwise outside display. The phone's general color is silver and the keys are dark grey and silver on the middle collumn.
I can't see how a keypad can be blurry. All the buttons light up blue, except of course the send (green) and end (red), the bottom and top rows of number are a touch darker then the rest.
Answering Machine??
"This tri-mode CDMA clamshell phone sports a color display, BREW, EMS, 1xRTT high-speed data, and advanced voice features, including call screening (answering machine), voice dialing, and voice memo."
What does "call screening (answering machine)" mean? Is it a fancy description for Caller ID?
Re: when can i expect a phone i like?
What do you want to use the bluetooth for? If it's just for the headset...which is pretty much all you're gonna get out of a Verizon BT phone anyway...Then you can get a bluetooth adapter for almost any current phone. They're relatively cheap like between $45-$85.
Re: vzw customer care?????????
"but has a bill of 1,156.51 and has a phone nuber that has been call(ed) about a thousand min this month "
I don't believe that that was speculation, it was active reading. I was just trying to be polite.
Re: vzw customer care?????????
They didn't say that she was receiving calls from the number. I believe they meant that her bill showed that she had placed calls to the number. If I'm not mistaken.
Re: data plane high
Oh...and Cingular charges $79.99 for the same service that Verizon is now charging $59.99 for
Re: data plane high
Ok...we're talking apples and oranges here. The little browser on your phone is not what this is for.
This is so you can get full internet access on your computer from anywhere verizon has digital service, with an card that sticks into your computer. This service is for laptops mostly.
The kind you access from your phone or PDA is 49.99 unlimited from the national service area.
Re: The possible future of cell service? TV on-the-go
What if...
This brings to mind the idea of a projector cell phone. It would project the video image on any white (or light colored) surface. I don't know about the logistics involved, but it would certainly solve the screen size problem, and it would make video phones much more usable. Is this even possible?
Self Portrait Feature.
I was just reading a description of this phone saying that it has a self-portrait feature. I was thinking this that was another erroneous claim about the v265..(like the picture caller id and the flash) But, reading further, I discovered that it does have a self portrait feature. This little mirrored bump next to the lens isn't just a design feature. It's a mirror so you can take self-portraits.
Re: This guy has it right
When did they do this?
Re: v710 call id headsets ?s
I was going to say that it would be wrong to think that they would design a headset with such an obvious flaw. But I went to Jabra's website and I'll be darned if it they don't. The LCD screen sits right up against your cheek. So you would have to remove it to look at it. It has some great features, but what a terrible design. Can someone explain what they were thinking?
Re: The nerve!
So what was wrong with just answering her question? Perhaps she would have gone to the competitors place, disliked their plan or whatever, and come back to the person who was nice enough to give her directions. You're lucky the new account you were setting up didn't decide that they wanted to go someplace with friendlier employees...
Re: Coul this be true?
Hmmmm. I wonder if this could be an advertisement? Can anyone offer advice?
Re: V265 Picture Caller ID.
This is a pretty old message, but.... :D
This phone does not have a color outside screen, so there is no picture caller id. Apparently some of the earlier boxes had claims of picture caller ID as well as a flash for the camera. Neither of these are present. But the box I have in from of me now seems to have been corrected.
