I found a case supposedly made for the i730 at the following site.

It looks kind of big to me. It might look bigger because it looks padded. Price is good.
I would rather get one made by Krusell. So far to my knowledge they have not made one yet for the i730.

On the PDAPhoneHome site they have links to case accessories. I looked at some of them for myself but wanted to look around before ordering any of those. All the ones I have seen are velcro (which I am trying to avoid) or have no accessory storage. I prefer to find a leather case with a snap and a pocket for the spare battery and memory cards.

Anyone know if your allowed to use GPS with the i730 using Verizons PDA/smartphone plan. The disclosure mentions telemetry apps are not allowed. I would think they are talking about GPS?

I take the approach that if I wait I will be waiting forever. By the time all the options I want come with the phone, another phone will be out and so on.

I agree that the clip that comes with the i730 is as cheap as they come. I don't trust those cheesey clips expecially with an expensive phone like this. I am looking for a nice leather case that has a strap that my belt can go through. Circuit City has a decent looking leather case but it has that cheap clip.

I bought the phone last week with the unlimited data plan. I received the NE2 discount but not the $100 data plan discount. Two different reps in different stores said you can't get both discounts. Has anyone heard anything different?

DUN means Dial Up Networking and OBEX means Object Exchange.
There are different profiles for OBEX. I don't know of any phones from Verizon that has all the OBEX profiles enabled. It does not fit with their business model to enable them.

My biggest issue is that I purchased the phone and signed the contract in order to get the discounts. It was never explained that they are separate issues. Since I returned the phone within the 15 day grace period or whatever they call it. I should be able to get out of any contract and return to the plan I was on without extra fees (besides minute usage). That to me is the whole point ...

Appears odd that Verizon has a teezer page for the Treo 650 only and not for any of the others mentioned so higly. Namely the Sammy SCH i730. Maybe because Treo's are so popular? I prefer the Sammy I730. Also, several of there PDA's (Sammy i700, Treo 600)are sold out according to their web site. I hope they release all the smart phones soon. :roll:
Samsung SCH i730 - Out of stock on i700
Verizons web site shows that the 700 is out of stock. I am curious since their stock is depleted if this will have an impact on the release date of the 730? I have seen posts here that speak of training for various branches of the company. Considering all the prep work, training, inventory of the 730 and now the old 700 stock being cleared out you would think that it is primed for release.

You can buy the Treo 650 which is about equivalent to this phone in functionality for around $400 (though I prefer this phone over the 650). I believe I will wait until it is released which I hope will be soon. I can't see anyone wanting to shell out that kind of money ...

I did the same thing. I bought the v710 on March 31 and took it back 4 or 5 days later when I discovered the bluetooth was crippled (OBEX & OPP) by Verizon. It made no sense for me to pay $150 after rebate for a phone that was crippled (of course now with 2yr contract it is free). If I want a wirless earpiece all I would have to do is buy the little bluetooth adapter that plugs ...

If you really want a screaming deal :) goto www.tmw.intelenetwireless.com or www.wirefly.com. Depending on the area you may be able to pickup the phone for free + make $20. This of course is if you sign a 2 year contract which I am assuming you are doing by mentioning the $150 paid for the phone.
