Yes, that is the total minutes per month. Some months I use a total of 100 and some 200 (total) - so it probably averages about 150. I have the cheapest Verizon plan and with taxes and fees I am paying about $35. Based on the Page Plus plan of 300 minutes for $25 over 120 days - it would cost me a total of $12.50 monthly!

I understand that Page Plus uses the Verizon network. If I am a Verizon customer on a month-to-month (contract long expired) and I am using the LG-8300 - and I usually go no more than 200 minutes a month (many times less) - is there any reason why I wouldn't go to Page Plus and get their 300 minutes for $25 - that only needs to be replenished every four months?

Thanks - but as I mentioned - texting is not important to me. How would you compare the two phones that you mentioned side-by-side?

Nothing elaborate - just looking for a good phone that only needs to act like a phone. I don't care about the camera and I don't care about music (well, I love music - just don't care about it for my phone). I saw the new Motorola 766 online - but since it has no ratings or reviews I am a little leery jumping in. But that seems like the type of phone we need (texting ...

I'll chip in (haven't done so for a while because all is perfect) - this is the first bluetooth phone I have had. A few people recommended the Plantronics 510 - got it for about $45 and while I don't use it 100% of the time I make/receive a call - thus far it has been a pleasure to use.

Ear Piece Volume changes: For those experiencing earpiece volume issues, the 8300 is set to Voice Privacy, a feature which decreases the volume when you move your ear away from the phone. Intended to keep those near you from listening to the other person on your phone, you may want to play with this feature to optimize your call quality. Press OK (Menu) and go to SETTINGS & TOOLS. Next, press #6 (Call Settings), and then press #5 (Voice ...

You have got to be a pessimist! I guess for you it's alway partly cloudy - the jar is half empty - we are already losing, etc. I have not taken a scientific survey but it appears that over 90% of the people who have purchased this phone - love it! Perhaps another 5% either got a bad phone or is not using it properly - finally, the last 5% would not like this phone even if they were ...

As I stated in my review: anyone reading the reviews and sees a rating below 4* should be very leery of that review - chances are that the person either never had the 8300 or never gave it a fair chance (or if they did - then perhaps it was a lemon [which happens with all manufactured goods] and they should have returned it for a new one). This may not be the greatest phone in the world - ...

I've had my phone three days and haven't had any problems with the earpiece. I'm not a kid and my ears have been punished with many years of listening to R&R - and I find the volume just fine!

I followed your instructions - after you cut the song - what do you do next, i.e. (for those not very tech savy) - can you give me a step by step from the point of the song being cut - to getting it into your phone. Thanks

Just ordered the Plantronics Voyager 510. Seems to get good ratings wherever I looked. I'll give a report on it after using it with the 8300. By the way, it can be had for $50 on E-Bay.

I don't mind reading nesagtive comments - in fact it levels the playing field - but you say the same thing 20 different times. Don't you think by now we understand that you don't like this phone. People (I assume) can think for themselves - they can make a decision on whether the 8300 is right for them. As far as me: I am on my third day (as is my wife) - and I am very critical ...

Mary Out of all the BT headsets that you have used -which one would you recommend for the 8300? Someone had mentioned that an LG rep uses the Plantronics 500 and had good luck with that.

Mary: If I want to just send a song or two to the phone that would be used as ringers - do I still need a card to do that? Also, I can follow your instructions for sending the song as a ringer but how do you cut it down to less than 30 seconds? Lastly, to send a picture or two that would be used as wallpaper - do you need a card for that? Thanks

Actually, we got two - and I'll wait for a week or so before posting a review; however, my initial impression is that the phone does everything I would want it to do (for a phone). The camera and music were just extras for me - couldn't care less about the music (since I jog with my Sirius portable) and the camera is nice to have (but isn't a mandatory feature). Anyway, we are new to Verizon (and ...

I kind of chuckle to myself when I read negative reviews on a phone (any phone) and then you see that the person just joined Phone Scoop that day (then you never hear from them again). The latest two negative reviews (that really are complete opposite of what everyone else is saying) have their authors joining on June 12. Perhaps they are legitimate reviews but most likely they're not!

There is no roaming charge unless you are off the beaten-track and I presume off of the Verizon Network - so how do you know when you'll be charged extra and when you won't (since we're waiting for our 8300s and haven't used them yet - perhaps it will be obvious once we begin using the phones - but if it isn't obvious perhaps someone can respond)? Thanks

I was just wondering if we have a clear cut winner here - I am looking for suggestions on what will work the best with the 8300. I read on Howard Forums that someone stated that an LG rep was using the Plantronics 510 and was very happy with it. Has anyone tried that as of yet?

I agree with Gunny. While I understand your intent I don't believe you'll be able to draw a substantial conclusion. If you had ten people respond saying that they had great reception or poor reception within a certain area of a city then one could state that particular area is not good reception for the phone. However, you will be getting responses from people scattered all over and probably not one will be from the same local ...

All those things like MP3 and camera are nice to have but my primary interest is having a good phone - one that has good call clarity and loudness and good reception. For that reason I was hoping someone tested both phones for a week and had a strong opinion on which one was a better phone (as in telephone).

No offense Mary but I know your allegiance to the LG 8300; if I remember correctly, you only tested the 930 for a day and you even admitted that you didn't run it through every possible scenario. I will probably wind up with the LG 8300 (I have the order sitting on my desk) but I just wanted to see if anyone had both phones for a week or so and felt the 930 might possibly be better.

The only loser here is you! I don't usually like to wind up in these type of spats but I do believe in fair evaluations. You've had your say here - now take your stupid 815 and go back to the Motorola site so that we can discuss this phone with intelligent conversation (whether it be positive or negative opinions). By the way, don't stutter when you write and learn how to spell cause. Bye (and good riddance)

We did consider going to the next higher plan (1400 minutes) but while I currently don't have a phone and my wife on Cingular was averaging 400 (anytime) minutes - we figured 700 should be sufficient because if we speak to each other and/or speak to both of our sisters (both on Verizon) then those minutes are free. I would imagine if we do start going over then we could elevate to the next higher plan. Thanks for the ...

While I am on the verge of ordering two LG 8300s - I still have a slight doubt that perhaps I should be taking a stronger look at this phone. Just wondering if anyone either (a) had the 8300 and returned it for the 930 and feels the 930 is a better phone and/or (b) tested both phones and walked awaying feeling the 930 was a better phone. While not to belabor the point, if you do feel ...

It's people like you that make looking at the reviews here slanted (unfairly) one way or another. Since I have never used either an LG or Motorola phone I couldn't care less which way you feel but if you're going to post a review - whether it be positive or negative - you should ensure that you have given it a fair test. So what you're saying is that if you use the phone in a not-so-noisy area and if you are in a decent reception zone then there is very little to complain about with this phone??? Also, why you appear to be flopping: when you originally did your review you said that you carried on a conversation in your car and also walked around the store and you stated it was perfect. I presume it is not me you are accusing of bashing this phone - since my only aim is to find out from others whether they are indeed having a reception problem. I personally believe that as more phones are purchased (this week) then we'll all get a straight answer to this.

I - like many people - are on the verge of getting this phone. I was waiting to read the reviews over the first few weeks and then - if positive - I would go for it. For the most part, whether it's been here, Howard Forums or Mobiledia - most reviews have been glowing. Then a few people started complaining about signal strength the past few days. I don't know if these few are unlucky ...
