Decent Game?... and my comments

Can anyone recommend a decent game or two to pick up for my new MDA? :) I tried playing "Quake for PPC" but couldn't get it to work. Figured it's for different type processor. I'm kinda looking for one with decent graphics. Quake would have sufficed, but alas, no go. I download Nester and will be fiddling with that soon. Next stop, overclocking! By the way, I've been a Technician for Verizon for about 2 ...

MidnightDT said: stop whining. if you want to make more money then what solecrom pays you then quit and get a job elsewhere. For starters, not once in my post did I complain about my pay rate. We get paid pretty well actually. Thus the lack of complaint. My qualm is about being compensated for something they push us so hard to do, which is sell data & accessories. The CSR's, and RSR's get paid on them and we don't. It's ...

I just, not even an hour ago, activated a V276 someone brought in still in the inpulse packaging. I do use I2K to activate the phone and not eroes. (I2K is a verizon account & billing program) So wether you couldn't do it before or not, you can do it today! :)

Look at the side of their sleeves on the shirts. If it says "Solectron" they are real technicians (or if their shirt is a light beige with black collars) Verizon subcontracts for their techs, They just recently signed a contract extending their partnership an additional 3 years and made it nationwide. So if there aren't Solectron techs in there yet, there will be soon.

Anyone remember the days we could acutally open the phones up and fix them? The days of actually helping a customer are over, and I miss them. If you were to fix 10 phones a day, saving $150 per fru (fru cost) that would be $30,000 a month we would be saving verizon individualy... boggling. Who makes these decisions anyway. I'm thinking about changing our job title. Changing it from Customer Service Technician, to Technical Suggestive Sellers. Would you like ...

Re: CAR KIT

Haha.. I did find a way to fix alot of phones that have car kit. When we used to be able to open the phones up, if you toothbrush and juice (tech spray, alcohol) the whole charging port (clean the corrosion out of the charging port) it would work. For the phones that wouldn't fix, I would take the soldering iron and lightly run the tip over the inside of the charging port, re-flowing the connectors (heating them up) ...

Your problem will get fixed then, I gaurentee that. The phone does have a 1 year warranty on it. Alot of people think that they only have 15 or 30 days to bring their phone in if it isn't working. We will still service the phone no matter if you bought it 3 days ago or 300 days ago. I do believe a flash could help. I've seen software flashes fix way worse problems.

Thats what walmart gets. The orginal poster is doing his/her job. Doing what he/she gets paid to do. Help customers and provide solutions. If walmart cannot spend the time to help a customer, then why give them any business? We're not here for walmarts "policies" or "contract's" best interests. We are here for the customers best interests. I see people with water damaged phones all the time. Some get very smart. They go over to target or walmart and buy ...

Regarding replacements and etc.. Literally 20-30 times a day people come into our store with problems that magically disappear once they walk through our doors. Thats not an exaggeration. We hear that excuse every 4th customer or so. It's amazing how well the healing powers of being inside verizon are. No matter which store I'm working at, it's an oasis of perfect reception. To the orginal poster: If you did have a problem and someone looked at it, and didn't ...

Technician Defends Technicians throughout the country...

No, the technician is correct. Software updates can affect every part of the phone. Some software updates that have been recently released address everything from improper voltage while charging (since the phone actually charges the batteries and not the charger) to reception increases by adjusting the wattage of the RF. For instance, if the phone is drawing the incorrect milliamps from the battery, it could be overworking some of the resistors, which could be the buzzing she/he is hearing. ...

 Your an idiot. Plain and simple. People like you keep the prices of phones high. Verizon DOESN'T make the phones. They can't tell motorola or LG what their warranties should be. They make phones for other carriers as well. You went through 7 V710's, and 3 8100's??!! Obviously the problem doesn't lie with the phones. It's what we call a one-d-ten-t issue. (1d10t) Or more commonly, the retard customer who wants a new phone, but doesn't wanna pay full ...

How about, it doesn't matter? The only difference is color, NOT video capture. I recieved my razr on Saturday and it in fact DOES have video capture just as T-mobiles website advertises. Get your facts straight?

With the new firmware update that fixed all of the possible problems and quirks the phone had, there is nothing stopping it! I'm VERY happy with my phone now, it's now flawless and all of the current ipaqs tmobile is sending out are already preloaded with the new firmware.. What an excellent device. You can't go wrong. Buy with confidence people!
