If that is true congratulations on that but how does that mean your reception is better on the ground or anywhere else for that matter?

I am not disputing that Verizon charges for plenty of things in addition to the regular service but I would much rather pay the 2.99 a month for a service I actually use like visual voicemail versus a one time charge for no additional service provided or benefit offered. Your argument could be invalidated simply if you have a iphone with Verizon (free VVM) or use a free service like Google voice. Besides additional feature charges what else ...

You are absolutely correct in stating that newer technology costs more but trust me when I say that the amount taken in on a monthly basis from existing subscription costs easily pays for those improvements. The main reason that companies like AT&T and Verizon cost so much more monthly is because they have many more physical locations and overhead than other providers but I would argue that Verizon has at least twice as many corporate retail store not to ...

I never understood this logic, when did Apple become a deity and if someone has anything negative to say they are a heretic? Apple has it's flaws like everyone else and obviously so does the most recent incarnation of the Iphone. I love Apple products but am equally disappointed in the lack of features as well as the hardware issues presented by Iphone 4. The reviewer is simply doing his job, which is to give an objective review highlighting ...

yes now in portrait mode you can choose from multitap, suretype (reduced keyboard), or full keyboard which is good after a day or two of practice

It costs $15 when added to a single line voice/data combo plan or when you have a $45 unlimited data feature. If you have the $30 email and web feature then it costs $30 to add tethering on but you do get a free month to try the service on either plan type as long as you add it on before March.

It's a little sad that you couldn't actually think of a valid retaliation so you jumped right into demeaning someone's possible livelihood. First off Verizon Wireless employees get paid a pretty decent amount (about 3-4 times minimum wage depending on where you live) considering there is not too much required of them, but that brings me to my second point which is that they are in fact not paid nearly enough to deal with people like you who seem ...

Actually, you don't need a data plan on any pda/smartphone except a blackberry or any new device being released after 11/16. You can still buy a centro or q or any older windows mobile device and get a pay as you go plan. The data plan initiative does not even affect consumer phones like the dare or glyde or even the krave, vcast is still an optional service.

I really want to believe that you are right Obento but the same argument could have been made for the 8830. The fact remains that VZW locked the gps on that model, so I guess only time will tell.

sometimes you need to go into the cache operations in your browser and clear the history. Once you do that go to http://mobile.vzwapp.com on your phone and click the navigator link, it should bring up the download prompt for version 4.1

Not true, Verizon will be getting it exclusively at first but they will have a quota they must hit for it to remain exclusive. If that sales quota is not met RIM will be sharing the wealth with everybody else but we shall see what happens.

You might have friends with blackberries that don't use data but I will bet a million dollars they aren't on Verizon and if they tell you anything different they are lying. If you want a device to use as an organizer then get a Palm or any of the Windows Mobile devices as they do not require data service. If you go with a blackberry you are going to pay at least $25 per month extra, sorry to be ...

There doesn't have to be a way around because there isn't one...It's an agreement Verizon has with RIM based on the email service blackberries provide. You really don't need a blackberry if you don't want to use the services it provides.

That is incorrect info, while standard sd cards can be used in any sd slot, micro sdhc cards are not always backwards compatible, the LG 8550 for instance can support up to a 4gb micro sdhc card but the LG 8500 cannot support anything higher than a standard capacity 2gb micro sd card. We'll have to wait and see what the capacity on the I760 will be when it is released...

Closest thing I found to an official release date was the fact that on a printed Verizon Wireless rebate form it had both the XV6800 and Samsung I760 and the form was for the sale period ending 10/08/07 so I am going to assume the 10/05/07 date could be correct

You need to have a separate gps receiver in order for the program to get location service. The phone is gps capable but only A-GPS which means that Verizon has to provide an additional signal.
