Re: Signal Reception
it's good. the antenna is sensitive in certain places (at least for me) but i manage to get at least 4 bars.. even at 2 bars, the reception is still decent.
Re: Quad or Tri; which is it?
i just bought the phone and on the phone itself, the network lists it as "quad-band GSM".
this is the first motorola phone i've had and is it possible to get rid of the word "calling" next to the contacts name? if not, it's not a big deal.
dual band only?
how come this phone is only dual band? wouldn't it make more sense if it was tri band?
Offerred in Cingular already?
i saw on a website that it's going to be for cingular but has anyone heard about it?
Re: to all the haters........

Re: stealth launch
i had no idea about this phone until i looked on the new releases... it's about time that LG come out with a quad band phone but with my lg c2000, i'm worried about the reception.... and the fact that i don't have the upgrade for another year... i remember reading that this phone has a camera on it... but it could be just me.
i originally thought you couldn't change the faceplate but on http://www.cellphoneshop.net and it shows them advertising faceplates. has anyone changed their faceplates and how one would go about physically changing it? thanks.
Re: For those that have this phone in America...
a)yep, this is a way to buy it other than ebay.. if that's what you're asking. this particular isn't being carried by a particular company but can be used for cingular and t-mobile (1900 mhz). b)i'm not sure.... there is no dedicated button for AIM. i think that's on the s710a model. c)the only major difference is s700i has a radio while s710a has EDGE but loses the radio function. also, the s700i is internation and mainly used outside of north ...
Does anyone have this phone for T-Mobile? If you do, how is it?
Re: Low Reception
I just got received the phone today and I currently have Nokia 6800 and it had better reception than the Nokia 6170. Guess I'm not the only one.

I bought the international version and tried to access AIM but it said I have no coverage. It said that it had IM capability and I have service through T-Mobile? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
