Tool, Toy, or Ego Boost?
Great article. Packing all that technology into such a small device inevitably results in trade-offs, but the marketing hype makes people think they can have it all. Almost every smartphone on the market today would have been considered a miracle a few years ago. Find what works for you and quit bashing all the rest just to prove you were "right".

Hmmm, so eating gingerbread makes you stupid. You better lay off the sweets then.
Did Verizon cripple the GPS on your Pre 2?
I noticed that the Pre 2 you reviewed was on Verizon. One of the issues with the Verizon Pre Plus was that they crippled the GPS so that GPS-A only worked with their navigator app (which requires a paid subscription). Re: Is anyone else a little worried...
I too am concerned about the availability of flip-style PDA phones. I've been using a Samsung i500 for over two years and there is still no suitable replacement available or even on the horizon. Sprint cancelled the anticipated replacement (i550) last year and now they have discontinued the i500. I'd rather have a Palm flip-phone, but I'd go Windows before I go brick. Now it looks like all clamshell PDA phones are disappearing. The only hope left ...
Please Sign This Petition for Sprint to Release the SPH-i550
A petition has been started to ask Sprint PCS to release the long-awaited Samsung SPH-i550 Palm OS phone, or failing that to at least continue to offer new compact clamshell Palm phones and keep the SPH-i500 for sale until a suitable replacement is available. If you are a SPH-i500 owner or a fan of small clamshell Palm phones you need to sign this petition. You can’t complain you’re not being offered what you want if you don’t make your ...
