Re: actually, roaming IS the meaningless term
Not quite... roaming off of partners networks is still alive and well; but it is barred in areas where home coverage overlaps. Verizon may not charge their customers when they are roaming off of a partner these days, but the partner is still charging Verizon (a small) per minute charge for you to use their network. With that being said, Verizon (this is the same with other carriers as well) do not want you to roam off of a ...
Re: A 12 hour shift YEAH!!!
I'm just amazed that they're actually going to have this available in a retail store at launch- last time I needed an upgrade on my work phone (about a month ago) the stores around here only carried the samsung omnia (aside from blackberry's) and I am talking about corporate stores, not dealers; they said all other PDA devices had to be ordered online (and customer care confirmed).
Re: There is only ONE true iphone killer.....
I agree, LTE will be the real game changer - just to throw in my two cents; I believe one of the main reasons this will not be an iphone killer is not because of what has what and why... but rather that people are highly accustomed to both having an i-pod and using itunes. Why carry two devices (ipod and a phone) when you can have them both wrapped up in a neat little package. Take that, throw ...
Re: Spot Wave Signal Booster??
Strike my last post from the record, I was thinking of power wave, not spot wave
Re: Spot Wave Signal Booster??
Spot Wave is actually a supplier for much of the newer generation RF equipment for Verizon, they have also been known to supply repeaters in retail locations that fall in marginal coverage areas. I don't have any personal experience with the repeaters but I would say its probably worth a shot.
Re: Spot Wave Signal Booster??
I beleive that is more for the stickers that people put in the back of their handsets, when their removed they take the ESN label with them, thus voiding the warranty.
something big happening at cingular/att?
I heard a rumor that cingular/att will be launching something big in the next few weeks... my best guess is video calling considering att has been barking up that tree for some time now... but curiosity has the best of me so I am seeing if anyone has any other ideas...
Re: Alltel Is For Sale!!
As a former alltel employee from little rock, I do recall a very proud certain somebody a few years back making a loud and clear statement that if anyone wanted to buy alltel they would have to pry it from his cold dead hands...
That being said, no matter who buys alltel, i'm laughing all the way....
Re: EVDO on metro phones
EVDO is up in the newer markets in certain areas, altough they are primarily using it for voice and not data, the speeds are comparable to all other EVDO networks, transfer rate averages of 300 to 700 kbps. Metro uses its own EVDO network
Re: @metroemail????
mail@metro is $5 per month and included free with the new U50 rate plan (web and mail)the only catch right now is that it will only work with the strobe or V3m, more handsets to come soon...
Re: Whats the commission like???
I do not have any exact amounts, but I beleive they all work towards a store quota, then there commission is based on a percentage of there monthly salary pay and the percentage is determined on how well the store finished against quota.
Re: Music Player and AIM on V3m
There is no AIM software currently available, altought you can now get your AIM email throught mail@metro if you have a compatible phone, the music player on the V3m seems to be tempremental, alot of mp3's and other music formats will play, but they will show up in sounds instead of in the mp3 player...
It does work to yahoo: picture mail to mail email address not working........
The message will show up in a folder called "Attachments" or in a folder calls "photos", so it does still work with yahoo, its just retarted
Re: porting number from virgin mobile to metro pcs
It will work, you will want to visit a direct location and not a dealer location as it is possible that the number will need to be released before it can be ported back
Re: t-mobile users dont receive my text messages
It does depend where you live and what your phone number is... in the new metro pcs areas that have new batches of numbers are most likely to have problems, the other carries do not have the new metro pcs numbers mapped to their systems yet, in most cases the only way to resolve the issue is to convince the (in this case tmobile) other carrier to submit a trouble ticket to get it fixed
Re: New phones???
It would be a good bet, but unfortunatly nothing is a sure thing whenit comes to
a handsets launch date.. along side the krzr, v3m, slvr, a870, and uts 7025 there is also the utstarcom 8932, the motorola 323i and e315, and the nokia 2865i which all "should" launch by december.
Re: Lag in SMS
Actually it should have gotten much better very recently, they just made a huge upgrade in their sms delivery system.
Re: Boost is for wannabe gangsters with bad credit
its called marketing and boost has done a hell of a job of it
Re: Best Alltel Phone for Chapel Hill
samsung got a good reputation with alltel when the n330 came out, because it was digital only it worked better in marginal areas where there was a digital/analog mix.
For my money though i lean toward nokia for reception when im in the middle of no where, there one of the few phones (tri mode) that can either go into analog only or digital only. (most all tri modes can go into analog only, but not digital only)
Re: Porting Cingular prepaid to MetroPCS
it will work but you will need to contact cingular customer care to get your account number and sometimes prepaid can take longer that a post paid, also keep in mind that you will need minutes on the cingular untill the port is complete and just as soon as it ports over you will lose whatever remaining minutes you had left
Re: use my current phone?
Unfortuantly only those phones that have a metro pcs PRL will work on the metro pcs network, no metro pcs store has the equipment to manually update the prl for non metro phones and the ota prl update wont work on a phone that doesnt initially have a metro prl to begin with.
The only real way to find out if your phone is capable of working on metro is to just dial *228, if you get a welcome to ...
Re: Any new Motos on the horizon
And also the 323i is coming too, basic camera phone with bluetooth. There are also two others on the very edge of the roadmap,
the cdma slvr and also a slightly different variation of the razr called the krzr, i beleive this phone is already up on phonescoop.
Re: Data is almost here
All brew enable phones (all current phones that are not the 2125) are already set to work with mobile web, the feature is still in test, it is working but is intermittent.
Re: nokia 6265
it showed up for order today, they are on there way
Re: ***New Phones comming***
the razr cost so much because it is part of motorola's business model to over charge for their "high end" models. The price will start dropping severly once people stop paying 299 for it and metro stops ordering more.
Re: KYOCERA STROBE!!!!
The 6265 showed up for order today, they are on the way
Re: Phones Not from Cricket
You would need to know the MSL code for the handset to even begin, then you would need sanyo pst and the cricket PRL file to manually load, neither of these items are readily availble (Especially sanyo pst) And even if you could succesfully complete those steps you would need to convince cricket to activate it.
I say good luck, this might be a little more feasible with just about any other cdma phone that isnt made by sanyo, ...
Re: do an on no how activate and neva pay bill
not to mention that no there is no way of accomplishing this.
Re: nokia 6265
Patience, it is coming for metro, should only be a week or two away
Re: Useing my v262 to access the internet
yes it will work, you will need the motorola modem driver and data cable, most kits come with both as well as a dialer but you can even use windows dialer. At this time we do not "support" a mpcs data connection (talking about 1x or evdo) but you can just connect to your exsisting isp the same way you normally do but you will select your phone as the modem. This works with any carrier it ...
Re: nokia 6265
Trust me we are already well aware of howard forums, lol
Re: nokia 6265
6265 Should show up on brightpoint any day, stores should get first shipments in a week or two, and unfortunatly the 6165 launch has been halted do to a high amount of hinge crackings in the test units.
Re: Data is almost here
its at switch level testing, it isnt available for test, demo, or emp account for probably another month
Re: Samsung sch-a850 is not...
they identified a severe software issue, that is why you may not of seen any a850 shipments lately, they will resume shipping soon with the patched software
Re: nokia 6265
Original rumor was $349 current roadmap says $269
Re: nokia 6265
last roadmap update says week of 8/21
Re: Data is almost here
it will be the same ip that is currently programed into your phone, the service will not work untill provisioned on your account
Data is almost here
they started testing mobile web this week, it will be either available as a seperate ala carte feature (best guess is $7 per month) or it will come with a new rate plan at $50 per month.
Re: New PDA Phone
Well the Q is on the roadmap, but historicaly that doesnt mean a whole lot, im sure its a long ways away from going into test.
Re: Motorola e815 at MetroPCS?: Pulled from roadmap
There are actually 12 new phones on the roadmap, most should launch by november (holiday sales hype type thing) i will try to post a full list when i remember to do so, im not a big fan of utstarcom (audiovox) but we just received a very classy looking very thin new flip phone, it has a brushed metal finish with chrome accents, ill post the model number again when i remember to do so but i searched ...
