Re: Plain wallpaper - no pictures?

No luck on my end. My son's new LG 3300 has a "none" setting for wallpaper, but not my new LG 4650. Odd that LG offers the "none" wallpaper option on a basic phone such as the 3300, but not on the 4650.

Plain wallpaper - no pictures?

I just ported from Cing( old ATTWS) to VZW and selected LG VX4650. Is there anyway to change from pictured wallpaper choices to a boring plain background (i.e. wallpaper turned off)? I see no option for that.

Re: speakerphone & headset with flip closed

Thanks. I'm porting to Verizon in a couple of weeks and after waiting (and waiting and waiting) for Nokia, I've have given up. I've read reviews here that the LG 4650 is a particularly excellent model for LG, although it is a flip. Using the speakerphone and/or headset with the flip closed makes it more palatable for me, as I really prefer a candybar phone with AMPS and a 500+ address book capability.

speakerphone & headset with flip closed

Some questions, if anyone knows the answer regarding 4650: 1) Does speakerphone operate with flip closed? Can you answer incoming call with the flip closed? 2) Can you continue an existing call while wearing a headset, if the flip is closed? Thanks in advance. I don't know anyone who now has this phone or else I'd ask them.

Can you talk on the phone using a headset when the flip is closed (just as you can use the speakerphone with the flip closed)?

6256i changed to "Coming Soon" instead of "Available at Verizon Stores"

Nokia's website for 6256i changed from "Available at Verizon stores" to "Coming Soon." Sounds like a delay? http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6256 i

What phone are you using in the interim? Did Nokia send you a temporary phone to use as part of its warranty repair service? Or are you just without a phone until your repaired phone returns?

While I'm not a fan of LG phones overall, the forums here seem to give a great score to LG 4650. Not so with the 6100 or other LG models, at least in regards to Nokia-like reception. The 4650 might be worthy of adding to your list of decent phones for consideration.

I've read on this forum that the extended battery for 4650 is well worth the cost. The extended time is significant. Just don't forget to also get a new battery cover, too, for the extended size.

Why is Verizon so dumb with Nokia phones
Jun 24, 2005, 12:14 AM

I just read that Verizon discontinued this phone (Nokia 6015i). And this is on top of Verizon discontinuing the 3589i. Why is Verizon so dumb when it comes to Nokia phones? Both models get rave reviews on reception.

any new word for Verizon and 6235i?

Does anyone know more about this phone's availability on Verizon Wireless? Any known timeline from a Nokia rep?

No idea. I'm in Verizon country, not USCC. But I don't know about Verizon either.

Re: Peach -- 6255i -- outside display

I deduced from reading the Nokia user manual that if the outer screen saver option is selected as "off," then the outer display of time and signal strength remains visible. Doesn't this answer your question? If not, then I do not understand your question.

Why did Verizon discontinue this phone?

Given the great reviews, why did Verizon discontinue this phone? Yes, the 6015i supposedly replaced it at Verizon. But why not offer two Nokia phones, instead of discontinuing one?

The user manual for this phone at Nokia's site says the outer display has a screen saver than can be turned on, off, or time-out.
