Re: WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH BOOST?
Aug 14, 2006, 1:40 AM

Good Lord ...does this conversation ever end? C'mon guy's...Boost will go the way of the dodo just like all cellular providers do in in it's own time! Look at the big ones and the little ones, even AT&T bit the dust ...Verizon and T-Mobile didn't spring from the earth, the bought out all of the other wantabe's; those with the cards play the games, those of us without, pay the bills until the next greatest thing comes along and we ...

Re: HELP WITH TEXT MSGSSSS
Aug 14, 2006, 1:22 AM
in the Boost forum

TT...There is a way ti disable the text messaging feature on your account. It simply takes an agent who is concerned with acting as a "Customer Service" advocate and not a helpless pawn.... If it were me to receive your inbound call I would of course verify the correct account and exclude the requested feature on the feature tab in the Ban (account). I would note the account copiously with your requested and the actions I used to meet your ...

Sorry TVP, at this point we have only reduced the cost to contact other Sprint, Boost and most Nextel customers to the lowest charge of .10 a minute....the Premium Plan includes free nights and weekends to ALL carriers. Jess

tough to say from the info you have offered Businessman... Does the service fail intermittantly or is always crappy? Have you put phone into Trace Mode( #,*,menu key, right arrow key); thats pound-star-menu-right scroll key... once here scroll down to register log and view it...when you are having poor service what is the code below both register log and interconnect log? Is the phone older and have you tried your SIM card in a different handset? As you can see sir there are ...

Sprincezz that answer from Customer service sounds silly to me ! How about you? I really would have to call you on a second line so we you and I could troubleshoot it....wierd issue! I will not be back to work till Thursday, so please access my profile and give me a number where I can reach you and a good time to do it. Remember, I am in Mountain Standard Time. MDIZZLE, your in a Nextel Partners area...this means that we at Boost don't have access to local area codes and prefix's. If you still want a Boost based upon a need for the DC and our great nationwide coverage I would encourage it! BUT.... you will always have strong service based upon the Nextel footprint, but all inbound callers may have to pay any local toll or long distance charges. Sorry, this is an issue that pops it's head up more ...

Hey MDIZZLE... Give me a contact number(via Email) and a good time to call you and I will try and reach you on Monday. I could also use your ZIP code. I bet I can resolve the issue for you! I have been swamped lately with a new position at work and I have not had a lot of time to do much of anything lately...14-16 hour days leaves me a little dizzy. I have just taken over our Transition Bay ...

Hey Danny.....I am not aware of the method used to "enable the handset to work with the "Direct Talk" but I am aware of the number of inbound calls we are starting to get from customers who are having an error code on there handset that is asking for them to enter a code for the "Code Plug"......PLEASE BE CAREFUL.....there is information floating around out there that offers to help you out with "moding" or "enabling" your handset to ...

As reported in Phonescoop Sprint has plans to release a handset that will take advantage of the Nextel network and operate on the iDen system... I hope this is a start on ways and means to combine both Sprint and Nextel into more of a single entity, sharing technology and expanding the borders for both client bases. We'll see is all I meant.... Apr 7, 2006, 1:46 AM

Nope...I have the same issue with my i730 and my LG8100 (VzW)...the holsters are there to cradle the handset and keep it closed and protected. I have a case with the swivel hook for the 8100 and I am constantly reaching down to discover my phone is flappin' in the wind, open with my screen unprotected or I am constantly ripping the hook off my belt when I get in or out of the car...anybody else cut corners to ...

Nothing New to report, the i415, i450 and the i855 launched last year and the i875 is the cat's meow right now as far as Boost goes... I am very interested to see what happens with Sprint in the near future.... Right now I would hope that Boost is listening to the feedback from both clients and inbound agents and make some changes to the Premium Plan to make it more accessible to all customers......Jess

nextel18 said: "nextel sim will not work in a boost phone" actually they do.. you just have to let nextel know and they will have to enter that Sim into their database.. i actually tried it with another phone besides the 730 and worked perfectly.. they usually say its not a good idea, but nextel makes poeple buy phones.. Nextel18 is right ! There is absolutely no technical reason why all of the equipment is not transferable, they are compatible, but trying ...

Gotta admit it..you got me stumped with that question! I'm not sure what you mean? It's almost as if part of your message is missing but let me give it a shot...The i875 and the i855 are set-up and locked for Boostmobile. If you want to get a contract with Nextel I'm afraid you will have to but a new handset.A nextel sim will not work in a boost phone, the phones are locked for the boost Sim. They claim ...

Sorry...if you answer a chirp it or send a chirpit counts as a connection.....remember you only get hit for the 1.00 once a day, so it really only makes sense if you use the DC as a main way to communicate. Then it is the best value Boost has to offer....One Dollar a day unlimited till Midnight of the day you use it! Let me know if that answers it for you or not.... Jess

Re: Better Premium Plan!
Mar 24, 2006, 11:05 AM

Weedo..Yes, M2M includes Nextel-Sprint-Boost. As far as adding more minutes to the basic Premium Plan, I am not aware of any firm plans. We have made this suggestion for months to Boost with little feedback. The way to add minutes to your Premium Plan is to carry extra money on your Low Credit balance, this extra money equates to additional minute at a .10 a minute rate...the automatic recharge of $15 adds 150 daytime minutes and you can use ...

I am not sure exactly what you mean by "the computer can't read the cards unless you turn the phone off"...Please be more specific? I am wondering if you mean the customer can't use the phone after you add the card unless the handset is powered off and back on? If this is the case then your are correct, you have to powercycle a phone on/off after adding a reboost card if the account is at zero. The account will ...

P, I am sorry if anybody misled you to believe that.... Any subscriptions or purchases that a customer choses to get into are the reason for the "Low Balance Credit" requirement on the Premium Plan. These things are a way to add to revenues above and beyond the 49.99. I understand how you must feel but, I am more concerned with any mis-information you may have been given ..I will try and contact you later, Jess

Feb 12, 2006, 4:09 AM

Hey Slaq-2... When I called Nextel on this, I received a whole bunch of conflicting information about the viability of Boost specific handsets. I was told some phones have the software that allows the transfer and some don't but they would not give me a list of the specific ones... The i730 I was asking about about at the time was able to make the switch. I honestly have to pass the question back to those with more product specific knowledge ...

Tulsa T, Lets review the tape...150.00 @ month....I think you could definately get into Boost at a cost that is possibly much lower and I have no doubts that we could improve your coverage and combined with the Dispatch feature improve you user experience. The key to this is the amount of use we are talking about for each user...Let me first give a general accounting of cost expectations: purchase price can vary from $70-$400 depending on ...

Yep..there it is! I to have been the victim of the 411 system. It is a courtesy service that prides itself in a mode of silent robbery that we as consumers allow. My experience was with VoiceStream (T-Mobile) when I first had to get a pre-pay phone years ago, and I have ever since warned any and everybody that it is cheaper to call a friend or family member and have them drag out a phone book ! Re: Area Code 716 Cannot Be Used with Boost Mobile?
Jan 23, 2006, 4:30 AM

I'm not certain where the 716 area code is but I suspect it falls into a Nextel Partners region ??? Go to www.sprint.com > choose wireless under the "personal" column > go to Plans & Coverage under Nextel > add your area code and see if it pops up as a Nextel Partners area. You will have good to excellent service in a Nextel Partners area but you will not be able to get a local area code and exchange. So ...

Re: Can You Use Any Nextel Phone with Boost
Jan 23, 2006, 4:19 AM

The i930 is a high end piece of equipment that will work on a limited basis within the Boost system. Yes, it will work fine as a Cellular and the DC will work but I have to be bluntly honest, we don't support a large majority of the extraordinary features the i930 have on the handset. I have had maybe half a dozen calls regarding troubleshooting issues on this handset and I have been unable to resolve any ...

It does....But the only suggestion I can offer is the "Opera" browser option I mention in an earlier posting about Wireless Web content...here is the link to another wireless forum that has some real sharp wireless users... http://www.howardforums.com/showthr ead.php?t=763488&highl You do need to have some basic software knowledge..it is above my level but the chat about this Opera is really positive and it allows bookmarking as well as a higher level of visual access....don't ask me how. I respect the fact that your are angry about your treatment from Boost and I certainly agree that the feature "download apps" is something that should be imbedded on the firmware. And I also agree that you should have the ability to solve the problem without so much grief, I am amazed that Motorola does not have the program needed for the i415 availible....I would have done exactly what you have done to try and find the correct application ...

Arti415, I run into this problem frequently and I have to be honest...the only resolution is to have the handset "flashed", which will reload the "firmware" just as it came from the factory. My first question is how does this occur? Is there anything you can put your finger on as to how this happened...Did the handset come without the feature or did you try and do something to cause the Java Apps to delete? My interest is to try ...

This is one of those wierd situations....Nextel wants you to buy a new handset! They tell me that some of the older Boost models are compatible with the Nextel SIM but they won't really commit to a list. I am certain of the i730, it is able to make the leap, but my question is if you want the Nextel contract package why not use the leverage your commitment gives you and make a deal for the handset you ...
