Congrats on winning. I have seen that sweepstakes as well. It is certainly another way to go about getting a new phone. If you enter lifewithlg, you can also win a trip for you and 4 friends to LA and a shopping spree.

Yes I was going to suggest best buy as well. I have not seen a better deal for the 9800 out there than the one Napster suggested.

I personally do not think that LG phones suck. I have heard several good things about the CE 500 and think that LG phones improve everytime a new one is put out on the market.

I have had some friends with the Razr and they HATED it, were completely disappointed. So far the 9800 is great and so many features, I think you should definitely go with the 9800 over the Razr.

If you still dont think it is loud enough even on high, I would take it into the store. The ringer turned all the way up should be plenty loud for you to hear it. Maybe it is defective on your phone.

Unlock the phone so it can be used by another company? such as another service provider? I do not think that is possible on the 9800 or any other phone. I would think they lock the phones from other companies so they do not lose money. If you are referring to something else please let me know.

What is the general consensus of this phone now that it has been out for a while? I know there were some initial complaints but just curious if you do have this phone what do you think?

I am unclear as to what you are asking. What is wrong with your volume? Is it too loud, not loud enough, do you not know how to change the ringer vollume? Please specify.

Is there a feature that you could activate a flash on it? If not, you may just have to take pictures in well lit rooms, or outside during the day.

I say, go for it. Its a great phone and I think you will really enjoy it. While it may seem like a big investment, think of how much you use your cell phone. If you use yours as much as i use mine, it is worth every penny.

I'm sure so. I just checked Best Buy's Website and they only show the CE 500 cell case but not the phone. Give it some time, I'm sure it will be out for Christmas.

Yes I just heard about this as well. Went to the website and it is defintely called the V. LG has just changed it to V for marketing reasons.

The latest price I heard at Best Buy was $99 if you sign a 2 year contract. That sounds like the best deal i have heard in a while (at least better than what yall are quoting) :P

I would definitely get this phone AND if you get it through Verizon you can sign a 2 year agreement and get the phone at a discount, its a pretty good deal! :D

Hmm, that is strange. I have not heard any weird noises coming from the speakers. It could be your phone. You may want to take it back to the store and have them look at it. Its probably just an individual problem, sorry.

I have not yet seen a way to go back to the mp3 after a phone call. Inconvenient but I am still learning.

Are you trying to play it and listen to it as an mp3 player in your room or something? I didnt know that was possible. So you don't just have to listen to your headphones? SOrry, I am still getting used to the phone. Haven't figured everything out about it yet.

I would definitely say go with the 9800. It has gotten great reviews and it seems that as far as what you are using the phone for, it is a better match for you than the 650.

Yes, it only has speakerphone when the flip is open. There is no feature to let you close the phone and talk.

Well two of the main differences between the 8100 and the 9800 is that the 9800 has the flip on the phone and the 8100 does not. Also the 9800 has the KWERTY keyboard, which is pretty nice as well. (another thing the 8100 lacks)

Yes I definitely think its worth the money. It has so many features and is one of the most advanced phones on the market. I would defintely spend the money.

I agree SHIVA. I have only heard great reviews regarding the 9800. jr9, have you heard anything that makes you hesitant to buy it? I think LG has created a very solid phone.

I've had voip for a little while now. We have a provider called SunRocket. They offer many of the same features as the other providers and we also got a free phone system to keep.
It's been a pretty nice service to have. It's really cheap and we don't notice much of a problem with the quality of service. VoIP is definitely the way to go if you make a lot of long distance calls ...

I actually don't think there is a way to remove it as your speed dial #1. Most phones use it as #1. I think it is a pretty standard feature. If you do figure it out, let me know.

Hey, so how is the reception. I travel a lot and i hate going in and out of service. Overall what kind of reception have you recieved with the 9800? East Coast people, your opinions are especially helpful to my question.

Of course you can. The easiest way is with a USB cable. Connect that from your phone to your PC and tranfer the pictures and your mp3.

I would just wait til you are over there and go to a store. At least you are in luck that you are going to an english speaking country. But my sister is in Italy right now for 3months and she just bought a phone and did service over there. She just went to a local store and is really glad that she did that.
