Re: California??
California was not mentioned in the D.O.J. ruling, but was added by the FCC. I read this in online bsiness news at Cranes and CNN, I believe. However, the articles were very non-specific about what was required in CA.
Re: Names Already Switched?
Not here in Los Angeles. I have the newer white SIM--just got a replacement two weeks ago--and my handset (Nokia 3120) still shows AT&T Wireless.
Re: California??
I'm not sure which market either. The D.o.J. did not require any divestments in CA at all, but the FCC however did. Maybe it refers to the spectrum limitation in any market. Perhaps Cingular must divest some of its CA spectrum.
I'd just like to get an idea whether I should be putting aside bucks for an early termination fee. My wireless phone is my only phone, and AT&T Wireless GSM works flawlessly in every room of my condo, plus ...
California??
I'm reading that market(s)in CA are on the list for divestiture or non-merger. Anyone know which market(s)?
Request for User Review Guideline
When a phone is offered by multiple carriers, it often differs from carrier to carrier, sometimes markedly; yet they are lumped together for users to review. I'm suggesting including a reviewer guideline that will ask the writer to specify the carrier when reviewing a phone sold by more than one U.S. company. As an example, the earpiece volume levels on the Nokia 6200 (Cingular) are too low; the volume levels on the 6200 (AT&T Wireless) are exceptionally good. This ...
Re: Cingular GSM coverage map....its growing!!!
I think it does relate to reality. Their national GSM footprint has increased _dramatically_ in the past six months. AT&T Wireless is going to be playing GSM catch-up, if they're not already.
Re: Cingular vs Verizon & ATT in So. Cal
granted i'm a new cingular customer, but so far they have offered me only outstanding customer service, from working with me initially in the store on getting the phone number i wanted to helping me out on the phone with some gprs issues. the reps have all been very, very helpful. (true, cs closes at 9 pm nightly, and all day sunday. could be a distinct minus in the future.)
i'm personally familiar with all the So. Cal. carriers except ...
Re: Please reply-Sprint or Verizon which is better?
True, SPCS offers "unlimited" Vision, but this applies to accessing the web from your phone, NOT your computer. It's bogus, totally. They're missing a huge marketing opportunity. The Terms of Service EXCLUDE using your phone as a modem to connect your laptop to the internet. If you do so, SPCS can terminate your Vision pack and charge you .01 per kb of data. At least Verizon permits this openly, even if they charge your bucket of minutes.
That said, I'm ...
