New Upgrade
Oct 30, 2014, 8:30 AM
in the AT&T forum

So I am due for an upgrade in a few weeks with ATT Next, and was wondering what the best smart phone is for ATT. Now I know this is more of a opinionated question, but was toying with the M8 from HTC and but someone suggested the LG G3 Thoughts?

EEE Gasp....I've seen the writing on the wall. If the iPhone 6 comes out and its got the bigger screen....Then I may have to dump Android for it.

So I finally got the upgrade and am kind of disappointed. I didnt see anything new that it added except the white icons...Everything else seems to be the same. Maybe I am missing something here I don't know but I think the next bad boy I am gonna grab is gonna be the new HTC device that will be the latest/greatest thing

CellStudent said: It's very, very common to have "mixed service" for up to 72 hours when porting a number around. All the back-office communication that happens at Verizon to release the number pays no attention at all to whatever timestamps and queues are triggered on the AT&T side of the transaction (i.e. SIM card insertion). All the timing is handled by business systems. Initiating a port prior to the second phone being activated is expected to interrupt service in ...

If the information that indicated it was now with CINGULAR (which is AT&T) said the number was PORTABLE, then it's probably active with someone else now. You need to make sure of this, and the easiest way is to call AT&T and ask. Sadly I asked ...

So when/if I decide to restart service do you think ATT would even know if that number is available?

Sadly I didn't do it in time. I did call and they did confirm that I can resume service with them but I'd have to start fresh. When I inquired about getting the cellphone number back they said since the account was shut off for awhile it was released into the pool and a authorized reseller snagged the number (Whatever that means) and I'd have to get assigned a new one... When Google Voice tries to call you to verify who you are, since my account's been disconnected it cannot call me to verify, therefore I think I've lost my number for good.

Yeah I fell your pain.
