Not sure but I believe the only way to get sound to headphones is to actually use headphones with the pop port built in. otherwise you only get sound out of one ear.

Of course it didn't do well! It didn't have bluetooth, a camera and the keyboard was limited to txt, im and contacts!
All problems the a630 doesn't have. Of course, knowing cingular comparing apples to oranges makes absolute sense.

This is why I never take "one" reps word for anything. I usually call back the next day and "check" that what they said was true. If they say something different I say "hey this person told me different check your notes."
If it's not there I figure the first one I talked to was blowing smoke. I know it's a pain but as they say, "buyer beware".

I'm not sure if you are doing this or not but I've read you are suppose to hold the phone camcorder style.
Basically with the keyboard facing a wall and not the ceiling. Don't know if this will help.

I think cingular is trying to drive us crazy so we drive up our bills making appointments with our psychiatrists.
I know I've used over 500 more minutes this month just for Therapy appointments because of this phone.

i'm sending my F9100 back monday the 21st. I've decided to wait for the credit to post to my credit card and if the a630 isn't out by then I'll probably try the 6820. I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm just sending it back for a refund as the keyboard limitation has irked me beyond belief. I'm going with the 6820 Nokia. I've checked a similar screen out on another nokia and though the menus were far from impressive the web was fine (which is what I'm most concerned with)

Most everyone has stated they haven't received their prizes. Though I'm more inclined to believe someone who received a notice that they can't choose a certain phone than someone who hasn't heard anything.
Hopefully though it comes out soon and it isn't a nice paperweight.

6820 or F9100
I currently have the 9100 and am disappointed in the keyboard only being able to be used with txt messaging, sms im or contacts. Plus no bluetooth depreciates its value to me too.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm that the keyboard is good for sms AND text entry on the internet. and wondering what others might think between these two choices.

I'd read another dude won on the promoto contest and selected the A630 for Cingualr and they told him he'd have to pick a different phone.

Yahoo messenger?
So my Yahoo messenger on the 9100 won't connect to Yahoo. It just times out. My AOL works just fine. Don't use ICQ so haven't tried it and I can't find any info on the CW client or the Future client.
It's not a huge thing for me because I use the WAP Messenger when I want to use it but was just trying it out and I've been getting this message for two days. ...

I agree with everything you've said about the phone. The only reason that I wouldn't give it a 5 or 4 star was because the keyboard is limited to only texting and Iming. It's ridiculous that you can't use it to enter data on the Internet.

Keyboard limitations
You can't use the keyboard for text entry on the Internet? I just can't believe it. I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong. it works for the address book and for text messages. It works for the IM clients but not for the Internet?
If I'm doing something wrong someone please tell me what. Everytime I open this thing while on the Internet I get "close slider" and there is no way to access the ...

It does have an integrated IM as my v220 and the f9100 do but it's set up to use via sms. I believe *i stress believe* that it could be configured to use GPRS but I'm not sure how that would be done. I was thinking the same thing but from the reviews I've been reading it may not be worth it. I'm really NOT wanting a PDA/phone that's why I wanted the A630 and it seems like the only other NON PDA phone with a qwerty style keyboard is the LG which I'm also hearing is not worth the money...

I'm considering getting the 7100g as well. I'm just tired of waiting on the A630. I'll probably pick it up and if the a630 comes out in the trial time I'll make a decide then which is better.

Again...only going by what my friend at my local corporate store showed me. I've read both these things lately at HoFo. It's there..it's not there. The list I was showen didn't have it. They said they'd just received it.

I talked to my local cingular corporate and he had the a630 on a price sheet a month or so back. His latest price sheet doesn't have it though the s710a is on it saying price effective 2/13.
I'm just wondering if this means we will be waiting even longer or what. All I can say is the guy at the corporate store wasn't encouraged by it being removed from the price sheet.

The problem is "waiting one or two weeks" for me has turned into months. I'll believe the A630 is out when it's in my hand. Otherwise I'll just be disappointed again and again. I sure hope you are right about it coming out soon.
