I'm sorry but your comment makes no sense? "TMobile and Sprint may have inferior networks compared to the big 2, but their efforts to bring in consumers is commendable" So what you're saying is that you would rather pay less for a less dependable product? Have you ever thought that a more reliable product might cost more? The reason both AT&T and Verizon cost more is because they invest more into their networks and don't want to be known as ...

But see it from the company's perspective, the customer is using their network! You pay fee's with other industries so this is really nothing new. Banks charge people monthly fee's to hold their money all while they are making money for holding it. It's all relative when you step back and see it from both sides. I have always try to see it from both and although I might not like the fee's in this instance, I do like ...

As one of your loyal customers but also one that works for a large corporation I understand what AT&T is doing. To me they should make no excuses for what they charge! They offer a solid network with a strong portfolio of products for both business and consumer and should charge what they believe to be a fair price. You don't walk into a Mercedes dealership and expect to pay Honda's prices!

You hit the nail right on the head Brad! Even though AT&T makes billions in profits, do you really think they aren't going to flinch when hit with a $100 million fine? They are doing what any other company would do and that would be to pass it on to the consumer! What cracks me up is that the FCC is fining AT&T $100 million for throttling speeds but NONE of it is going back to the consumers who were ...

Mike you hit the nail right on the head when you said "They have the means to bid on the spectrum". Both TMo and Sprint have the means and ability to compete in the spectrum bids but that would mean they have to make sacrifices in other areas. And those sacrifices would most likely come at their customers expense! Both companies are fighting a pricing war right now and unfortunately when you do this you lose the ability to ...

I completely understand I was just making an analogy that pokes fun of how the government makes moves with simple money grabs in mind instead of the consumers well being. It simply wouldn't surprise me if they did what I said! What I think nobody really grasps is that the wireless companies don't have the ability to handle the load of traffic on their networks if they still offered unlimited data. Just look at what happened when the iPhone launched ...

What I find most amusing is that the fines will go directly to the US Treasury! Consumers are merely a pawn in this game of the US government V AT&T. What I can't understand is why the lawsuit was filed in the first place? They didn't shut off their data they simply slowed it down. What's next, are they going to go after Ford for putting speedometers in their vehicles that go up to 180 mph when in reality ...

Another non factual statement! Sounds to me that you just hate AT&T for some reason or another? I think its funny that both AT&T and Apple are doing what's best for their customers, yet all you want to do is bash them by making false accusations! My buddy found this out the hard way on our way to a golf trip in Myrtle. He and his wife decided to give TMo a try when their Verizon contract ran out and everything was good until he traveled. You hit the nail right on the head! Its funny because both Sprint and T-Mobile want to play the role of the "David" against the larger US carriers "Goliath". T-Bone hit the nail on the head! No carrier has complete coverage of the US but both AT&T and Verizon have the largest network. If you want an example of poor network on Verizon go to Alta, Utah where AT&T works great and Verizon, not so much. Or go to Snowshoe WV's website and go under FAQ. But to argue your point, lets say you do drop down and everything is great until you have a heavy data month and go a little over. Wouldn't it be nice not to have any overage charges as your plan carried enough data over for you to use? Verizon and AT&T have convinced people that they have better networks, because they do! If both T-Mobile and Sprint had better networks they wouldn't feel the need to fight a price war. Its pretty simple, T-Mobile and Sprint want you to believe they have better networks but the facts are they don't. Sure, in some cities they are solid but overall they just can't compete with the companies that put their networks first and gave the consumer what they truly ...

Well he was kinda right. The article mentions that VZ won't throttle data on those using the grandfathered unlimited data plans. The only problem with this is that VZ doesn't allow you to upgrade at promotional price or go on their Edge plan if you are on the unlimited plan. Mike I agree 100% with your statement! But I think its to both Sprint and T-Mobiles advantage that companies are not allowed to line up and purchase spectrum together. If this was the case both AT&T and Verizon could drive the prices WAY up and cause even more problems for the rest! IMO, T-Mobile and Sprint love to play the "poor me" role but in reality they are funded by companies with very deep pockets! Very similar to Verizon when ...

I agree, my point is simply that T-Mobile wants everything and cries when they don't get it! I said in a different post that this could backfire on them because AT&T doesn't have to renew their agreements with them even "if" the FCC steps in to regulate prices...which they did back in 2011.

Good point! Their network is only as good as their roaming agreements! I just wonder if AT&T is going to decline their business when their agreement expires with them? This could and probably will backfire on T-Mobile. If the government steps in and sets acceptable roaming rates this doesn't mean that the carrier (AT&T) has to sign an agreement with them! They can look to another company for the business and leave T-Mobile hanging out to dry!
