Hope this reply isn't too late. The unlocked Moto X Pure is available for purchase through Motorola.com or Best Buy (lately 16MB for $299, which is a $100 price drop from original). Seemingly indestructible. The Moto Store in Chicago demos the Moto X Pure by dropping them from waist height onto a granite surface with nary a scratch to the phone. Also the Moto X will operate on all U.S. CDMA and GSM carriers with the appropriate SIM. Coming from a Gen I. ...

Did they bother to develop a camera timer for snapping remote selfies? Funny how the old (2 years ago) Droid Razrs had timers.

If you have your app updates on Google Play Store set to automatic several apps may have been updated after the Android Kit Kat 4.4 update and are now running. I'd go into apps and Force Stop non-essential ones. After the first few charge/ discharge cycles following the Kit Kat 4.4 update, I am once again seeing 43 hours on average between charges on the Moto X. As far as "going back" I always thought that Motorola devices don't normally permit a ...

Here in metro Chicago they have been wallpapering Sprint's bright yellow "10X Faster Than 3G"all over the place. Sales insists NV is completed. Honest Tech Support reps state that Network Vision fiber optic backhaul and new microwave equipment installation will probably not be complete in metro Chicago until mid 2014. The typical speeds I see on 4G LTE in the Northwest Burbs...near OHare...are 4 mb/s downloads, with 60 ms latency. However when capacity is low, during peak hours, I'll often get only 3G ...

I typically see 42-54 hrs.per charge with admittedly light data use. :) Mostly running LTE here in Chicago, except on the first floor of my house where Sprint's 1900 mHz PCS has a harder time penetrating double masonary walls.

I'm curious about this device as a replacement for my HTC TP2 running WM 6.5. Is the ZTE Render's WM 7.5 Tango 2 OS upgradable to the upcoming WM 7.8 release? For that matter is the WM OS in the HTC 7 Pro upgradable to WM 7.8?

Well I was wondering about whether USCC was getting this phone and everyone seemed to rule it out. So I replaced my V3m RAZR with a VE20, and I miss ability to copy organizer entries and I would like a virtual QWERTY board with I -Tap to enter text for the organizer. And you cannot keep organizer entries for more than 1 year after they occur. I have no use for MMS or Browsing. I am just under 2 weeks into ...

Did a *228 PRL update with my Moto Razr V3m today, as I had been dropping calls the past few days (at my office directly across the Kennedy from USCC Corp. HQ at O'Hare). Wouldn't you know it? The EV(DO) red icon lit up. So EVDO has finally made it to Chicago. Trouble is I don't use Easy Edge so what benefit will EVDO provide me?

Further investigation shows that the authorized agent which sells with plans for the Motorola Online Store is LetsTalk. Anyone on this forum ever deal with LetsTalk? They sure do a lot of advertising. Motorola, which is weakening by the day, must sure carry a lot of weight with the carriers to be granted rights by those same carriers to directly offer very competitive prices and plans for all the competing carriers for which they make handsets.

In answering part of my question I called the Motorola store to get some clarification. They apparently are acting as limited authorized agents for all these competing carriers, with the limitation that they only offer the products to prospective customers who are new to the carrier (or have been without that carrier's service for at least 6 mos.) As to the significant disparity in the MSRPs they were stunned and could offer no explanation. Can anyone venture to guess what ...

Depending on the state you reside in, if these telephone calls are repeated and at late hours they may constitute telephone harassment, which in Illinois is a misdemeanor crime. In that case you may contact your local law police department and tell them you have been receiving repeated hand-up calls with blocked information. They should take a report. If they believe that they calls are made with the knowledge or intent to harass, (based on the frequency of the calls, the ...

What if the customer doesn't reach the "right" USCC CS agent who will do the "right thing"? Are the unfortunate ones just supposed to lump it?? It is commendable that YOU and many other USCC agents will do the right thing to keep the customer happy, but I am talking about unfair trade practices on the part of a wireless carrier. I would not be so quick to pay the ETF. This issue was addressed ad nauseum in this forum many moths ago. If USCC does not have sufficient service in the area that you are moving to they cannot compel you to maintain an address to prevent invoking the ETF clause. Numerous USCC CS agents agree with this analysis. The provision may be in the USCC contract, however, I would contact the Nevada Attorney General consumer complaints division to request their intervention. It ...

Since we changed time settings to Daylight Savings early this morning, you should have noticed the correct changed time being displayed on your phone this morning. Is there any way to view the time on the V810 internal or external display while connected on a call? I know that you can view the call timer, but quite often it would be handy to see the actual time, while on a call. If I am not mistaken, my "old" V60C had that capability.

bk77 As always you are quite welcome. One thing I have been able to discern about USCC as a new customer is that employees, such as yourself, do create a feeling of being part of a large family in the American heartland. In that respect I hope USCC sticks around for a long time. Besides, I rather like seeing the USCC sign perched atop the Bryn Mawr Ave. Chicago HQ. from my office window.

I, as well as most other V810 owners, have had this issue with Motorola and USCC regarding the V810. The V810 definitely has a speakerphone feature, in fact one of the best out there. The box that the V810 is shipped in says so. The owner's manual, which is so poorly written, alludes to the speakerphone, on Page 71. It errantly describes the speakerphone as an optional accessory, (unless the Latin American version lacked it). The owner's manual makes the faux pas of ...

I have applied some photos taken with my v810 at high resolution to contacts in the phone book. When I receive an incoming call from a contact with the applied photo, the displayed photo is miniscule and virtually non-discernible. Beneath the tiny photo appears the contact name. In my opinion, I do not see wireless increasing the price of its services or products in the near future with land-line and upcoming Voice Over Internet Protocol competing for the same market share. In an industry such as telecom, where operational costs are more constant and controllable, and where choices for the consumer are continually increasing, it is more difficult to justify an increase in prices paid by the consumer. The exception to this trend would occur where ...

A comparison between the wireless products available in Europe and Nrth America is not as simple as you make it to be. Most European carriers did not offer or promote annual or biennial contracts until the last two years. Further, most wireless phones sold in Europe are unlocked so you can take them from carrier to carrier by changing SIM cards. By contrast, in the US, virtually all phones currently offered by carriers (with contract) are locked to ...

The law does not recognize the term "Loop Holes". If by "loop holes" you mean excuse from performance of certain or all conditions of a contract, the law in fact does recognize such excuse from performance. Performance may be excused for the following reasons: 1) Legal or actual impossibility - death of one of the parties, cessation of existence of a legal entity, physical impossibility due to terrain, etc. 2) Statutory - laws prohibiting certain provisions of a contract 3) Certain types of Bankruptcy 4) ...

Lawyers often complain about the uneducated general public who they take as clients. If you read my last response, I cited the Illinois Court of Appeals ruling on a lawsuit filed against Verizon relating to ETFs. That Court did not laugh at the Plaintiff or her attorneys. We are closer to some common ground, but again I think you need to modify your disagreement with my opinion as being wrong to just one you disagree with. As I have said ad nauseum, I do not assert that ETF's are unenforceable. I have repeatedly stated that it is possible that a court might find one enforceable when applied to a situation such as that of my hypothetical.
