I think this phone, or a variation of it (but this IS is a variation!) will hit T-Mobile, merely for the fact that it can access UMA, probably the first real nice one too ;)

I would definitely want to purchase this phone... it has everything that I want - except for Wi-Fi. If it had that, I'd be all over it; Wi-Fi's something that I've learned to need, and I can't exactly buy a new phone that doesn't have it (I'm coming from an SDA). Perhaps the next one will include Wi-Fi, plus everything here... I'd be freaking crazy about that. Take care. see u.

Well the MPx220 I've had for over a year gave it to me free - and I was using the same codes (and I've been a customer for a very long time so I had the original T-Zones before they rose the price)... so let's hope it's free

First turn Wi-Fi on by clicking the "Communications Manager" (the button above the volume button on the phone's right side) and press "2" or scroll down to "Wi-Fi" and click it. Then click "Settings" - then "Wi-Fi Settings" and click "1", "Wi-Fi-". Wi-Fi is now on and those are the available networks. If you want to manually create a network to connect to if it's not listed (in the future for example) then click "New..." and type in the necessary information, ...

Well considering that this phone comes with IE built in, you will have the same risk of passwords being intercepted than if used by an actual computer (if using IE). But if you're referring to POP3 (etc) to access e-mail, it will be the same as if you were connecting wirelessly to a home network (for example) to retrieve information - the only place to get intercepted is with whom you're "talking" to.

Yah, you'll have to buy the cards seperately. I'm not 100% certain on how much capacity the SDA is willing to hold as far as the size of the miniSD card, but they have 512GB and 1GB cards running for about $50 on TigerDirect and NewEgg just at quick glance.

Yes - It shows basically what IE would show - except all the plugins, i.e. Flash etc. The color and this screen is awesome and I have more fun surfing on the phone than I do on my computer, haha

You mean the phone? If so, T-Mobile has a $50 rebate for a 1 year new/extended contract starting at $300 and a $100 rebate for a 2 year new/extended contract starting at $250 or no contract extension for about $380. I contacted them directly.

Check this out guys. It's basically for the MPx220 - but it worked perfectly for me. http://65.254.44.178/showthread.php?s= f30960557b7d6ed53d09b835384e3619&threadid=571 906

It's definitely Flight Mode. You can click on the button above the "Volume Up/Down" and click on the phone icon. If you try to make a call, it'll ask you "Flight mode is currently on. Would you like to turn flight mode off?" - so it's definitely flight mode - have fun.

Hold down the "End" key or press the power button really quick - then go to 4. To unlock - click unlock, and then "*" - have fun.

I haven't messed with the speed dial yet, but in order to lock the keypad, you can either press the power button really quick and go down to "Key Lock", number 4 - or hold down the "End", red phone, button. Then to unlock, click unlock then "*". My biggest annoyance is the keypad, I get really paranoid when using it - but it's a very minor problem, the screen and Wi-Fi quickly makes up for it - have fun

Customer Service told me that I needed to get the EDGE service in order to use internet when not connected to a wireless network - Not true. I just punched in these settings for GPRS (When I had an MPx220 http://65.254.44.178/showthread.php?s=f309605 57b7d6ed53d09b835384e3619&threadid=571906 ) And I'm able to surf freely without the extra service... and it's relatively faster than when I surfed on the MPx220.

Apr 18, 2005, 7:26 PM

This has been going around for a while, but I still can't and answer. Has anyone set up T-Zones to work (meaning browsing and such w/ ie or opera) on their MPx220 handset? There must be someone out there who got it, or is it impossible? Its unlocked now (ofcourse) but its originally from Cingular. Anyone with info, please post. Thanks
