vzw razr question
So I am totally frustrated with my new vzw razr.
I cannot find a way to change the home screen softkeys to something different besides messages on the left and contacts on the right. Any help?
I upgraded from an E815 which died on me after about 18 months of use...screens just died.

So when the phone arrives the ESN is already set to the primary line, correct? But the old phone on the line stays active until the new phone is "activated"?
So we could just have the ESN on the new phone changed to the second line right up front, without losing service on the old phone and having it re-activated on the primary line?

Merits program question
We are in the Chicagoland area and our 2 line family plan qualifies for the Merits program. Here is our question:
The early phone upgrade seems to be only for the primary line. We are quite happy with that phone, but would like a better phone for the second line (the secondary line was added less than one year ago).
Could we upgrade the primary line phone, then just activate the new phone on the secondary line? I assume ...

The email procedure still works. You must create and send the email from a non-email client (NOT Outlook, etc.) but from a web based service like yahoo or gmail.

Is that price for new service only? We have a family plan, and the second phone (originally given to another member of the family) is pretty lousy. We don't qualify yet for the 2 year discount. Looking to replace that second phone with an updated bluetooth model. Would VZ offer a deal on a replacement second phone if we added the unlimited data plan and purchased the data card (Kyocera) from them?

There is a chance I may be able to obtain one of the SE data cards for my laptop. I see on the tmo website the combined wifi/edge plan of $49.99. Isn't there an edge only plan (aleady have a separate tmo hotspots account thru my employer)? Could I sign up for this plan (as a separate account from my cellphone account) without purchasing a card from tmo?

I've got the $19.99 unlimited internet2 add-on. Surprised to hear that the EDGE gprs price might be different. A couple of guys at work switched to an Edge phone...don't think their billing changed.
I did look at the my tmo upgrade page. A v330 or 360 would be $125-165 with a 2 year contract.
I may just look to sell my V620 and buy a used V330.

I'm a 3 year customer of tmo, with a voice and unlimited data plan in the $60 range.
Out of contract almost a year now.
What could I expect in the way of special offers by talking with retentions? I'm willing to re-contract for another 1 or 2 years.

Itunes on the mac under osx can cut your mp3 down to whatever you want. Just load the song from it's original, go into the song's info, and choose a start and stop point. Once you play only that piece of the song, then convert it to mp3. You may want to limit the size of the file by changing the itune pref to say, 96K size. I understand that moving the file to the transflash ...

My T-mo contract was up in December...the old get more $39.95 plus the 19.95 internet add-on.
I'm very happy with their service (I just completed 2 years with T-mo) and am ready to re-up for another year. My questions are this:
Can I get the new 1000 anytime mins promo 39.95 as a renewal? Plus of course keep the internet add-on?

Hi Brian,
The V620 is working great! I figured out the phonebook problem, and have gotten mobile phone tools up and running (sorry I can't use that program on my mac!). I've uploaded some mp3's to use as ringtones and successfully used the camera.

phone book problem
So I used the phone tools software to clean up my phone book...worked fine. However, now my "search" function does not work on the phone. If, for example, I want to see "Jen Cell" by pushing the J key, it always goes right to the last entry in the phone book. No matter which key I push, it always goes to the last entry in the phone book.
I use a dumb format....all the contacts are last ...

Hi there,
As of now, you will need to use a usb cable with your Mac. I have set up isync to sync my phonebook with Mac address book. I have not tried any other pim apps yet. At some point, mac will support the bluetooth connection.

You are likely correct that this is a bad phone.
I am really disgusted since I returned a V600 two weeks ago that died within the first hour of operation. I just want to make sure that I'm not missing something here.

V620 Help!
I just purchased an OEM V620 from myworldphone.com and I cannot get it to work. I'm obviously missing something:
I charged the battery overnight. When charging, there is no indication except the external display lights up with no message.
When I insert my T-mobile sim card, and power up the phone, I just get a white screen on the main display...no "Welcome to Moto" or other icons or printing. Same exact thing if I power up without the sim ...
