Maybe if there were actually something worth paying an extra $50 for instead of a pretty color. No new features, it's just the same phone with a new coat of paint. Cars are a different story. A truly classic car that is well kept over the years could indeed be worth more if it's a limited edition. Plus it's something that many can appreciate and enjoy. But let's get real. How many people collect phones? ...

It isn't really anything that transflash memory cards can't provide now as long as the phones allow it. It seemed like a good idea until I saw the DRM thing on it. DRM can go to hell. Super

Not quite sure. I know they offer a prepaid option, but I'm not sure of the price. I'm US based and am mainly aware of them as a business based on some research I've done into cell communications in various parts of the world. I didn't delve into pricing unfortunately. Website's www,thuraya.com if you're interested in learning more though.

I kinda like Thuraya's (Europe, Africa, Asia) model better. Thuraya uses GSM and switches to satellite when GSM isn't available. If you're outside of Thuraya's coverage area, like in the western hemisphere, you can roam on another carrier's GSM network. It's a pretty slick setup.

lol she was fine with it. It was pretty easy to use. Also, for those that want to know, I paired my v551 with my iPaq 2210 thru Bluetooth just fine. Makes an easy way to transfer pics, ringtones and videos. Doesn't allow me to upload games though, so I guess I'd need another solution for that.

Thanks. I'll play with my wife's 220 tonight and see what happens. I have a cord that will work in that one.

Default lock code is 1234 and the longer security code is 000000 (6 0's). It's in the manual. Don't know the SIM one. I was wondering that myself.

Mine works just fine from anywhere in the house. It had low strength when I was deep inside Lowe's, but so did my Verizon phone. Super

Cool. I was looking on eBay and was just wondering which one was better. I'll also give it a whirl with my iPaq to see if it'll transfer. Thanks, Super

USB cable or Bluetooth?

Hey all, I'm a noob to Motorola cell phones, so please bear with this question. I'd like to able to transfer photos, ringtones, games and contacts between my phone and my PC. This should be easy with my wife's v220 as it has a USB port and is an established model. However, the V551 is new, and I'm going to have to buy equipment either way to get access to it. So which is better/easier to use? The Bluetooth ...

Terry, I have a question. I'm new to Motorola phones. I had a crappy Nextel several years back at work, but I just bought the 551 for personal use. Now I like the idea of having the numbers on the SIM card for protection, but you can't use the extended features unless you have them stored in the phone. So I did what Cingular said to try, and that was to do a merge. Now I see 2 versions of ...
