I think you're screwed. I checked the site and couldn't find anything but maybe a Cricket rep could answer that question a little better.

Sprint 'fires' customers; is this true?
Jul 12, 2007, 4:07 PM
in the Sprint forum

This may have been mentioned a dozen times if this is true, but I read this from msn.com. Man, I sure wish Cingular would've done then back when I was a rep: Sprint to 1,000 customers: You're fired The cell-phone company cans some of its customers for complaining too much. Told 'we are unable to meet your current wireless needs,' they have a month to find a new provider. Sprint Nextel is hanging up on 1,000 of its cell-phone subscribers ...

WHY????
Jan 24, 2007, 1:12 PM
in the AT&T forum

First off, nice to see you guys again. For those who don't remember me, I used to frequent these forums until I left ATT/Cingular in late 2005. I proudly take credit for creating "Bob, the Typical Cingular customer" (thank you, thank you). I've been out of the loop in the cell phone world since leaving Cingular (and finding happiness), so I don't know whats going on here. Someone please explain to me why, after all the hassle of changing their ...

Happy Customer Service Week...and Goodbye!
Oct 4, 2005, 8:51 AM
in the AT&T forum

First off, I want to wish all of my fellow reps, Cingular or otherwise, a happy National Customer Service week. Secondly, I'm saying goodbye to the forum, because effective yesterday I AM NO LONGER EMPLOYED BY CINGULAR WIRELESS!!! WOO-HOO!!! FREEDOM!!! Unfortunately, by leaving Cingular, that means I wont be on the forum at all. I mostly accessed this site from work, and I haven't been on in the past month anyway since it's been blocked by Cingular. Also, this means no ...

No Episode 6 (for now)
Aug 27, 2005, 8:48 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

Because my call center is blocking this site, I won't get a chance to really complete further episodes from my desk. That, plus the fact that I plan on quitting this damn job (hopefully soon), will leave Episode 6 as the final Bob episode. Yes, it's sad, I know, but unfortunately it has to be this way. But I can assure you all that when I do complete the final story, I'm going out with a bang!

Phone Scoop blocked again!

For the second time in a month, this site is being blocked on the floor in my call center. Any other CSRs able to access this site? I've tried both http and https, the latter worked for a while but is now blocked also.

An anagram for Cingular Wireless is "SURE SCRAWLING LIE", how's that for a slogan?

I'm in Tennessee, but I just really wouldn't have time for any extra work right now. Maybe later though, I'll keep that in mind.

I dont know, I'd have to think about it. I've always wanted to do a comic (I was a big Marvel fan in high school) but wouldn't really have much time now due to personal things going on. I usually write Bob between calls at work.

September 1
Aug 17, 2005, 9:30 AM
in the AT&T forum

Beginning September 1, 2005, Cingular will introduce three new FamilyTalk plans and re-introduce $9.99 additional lines on all FamilyTalk plans. These new plans will better position Cingular Wireless against competitive offers, offer more minutes to customers and discount the cost of additional lines on FamilyTalk rate plans. This is internal info, so you did not hear it from me!

Exactly. Because you never know what kind of personal budget cuts you'll have to make within that 2 years. Thats why I like the service I have now. I've always been a Cricket customer, if you're familiar with that carrier.

Bob's daughter, Freckles (yes...her name is Freckles), hasn't been feeling too well over the past few days. Looks like a trip to the doctor is in order... *In the waiting room* Bob: So, how are you feeling now, sweetheart? Freckles: How do you think I feel? I've been puking my guts out. Bob: Umm...that sounds interesting. So...um... Freckles ignores Bob, as she always does, by downloading some new games and ringtones on her phone. Bob: Umm...honey, do those things cost money? The solicitation option on the website is for Cingular solicitations only, i.e. advertising new features, phone, etc. To stop solicitation from 3rd party carriers, you'd have to actually go to the site that sent you the message, and cancel from their end. Cancelling SMS services through Cingular does not stop the charges. The best way to prevent these is by watching who you send text to (Jamster commercials, for example), and by not putting your phone number in any of ...

Well I'm working on a solution. I'd hate to miss the birth of my daughter to stay at work being chewed out by a customer who doesn't know how to take his phone off silent. I will probably just miss the days and take the points, and quit after my wife and baby no longer need the insurance for a while.

You'd be surprised how not-so-green the grass is on the other side. Yes, I agree that there are advantages that orange reps have over blue. As far as being treated the same, however, my particular call center is treated as blue, even though we're orange now and taking all orange calls. We don't qualify for all of the orange benefits, and have had some of our blue favorites taken away (such as Edge Rewards). We're somewhere stuck in limbo ...

I tried that. Since our call center officially became Cingular on January 1 this year, I've only been employed with the company for eight months, and you must be employed for a year to qualify for FMLA under Cingular. When our call center switched, we became new employees and our tenure started all over again. I've checked on it, and get the same answer everytime.

No, I'm in a U.S. former blue call center. They say since I'm not the one having the baby then I get no leave. I can miss a few days and take some points, but after three days I would require a doctor's note with my name on it, or my ass is grass.
