I can't believe Nokia has finally put a 100% fully functional device out for us to see! It's got everything! Quad-band GSM, expandable memory, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, full HTML web browser...all in a nice looking style. Plus a BlackBerry email client...watch out RIM! This may really hit you harder than the NTP lawsuit!

Mark Siegel, PR Director for Cingular clears the record...

in the Article: Cingular Reverting To AT&T Brand (Corrected) forum

"Cingular is most certainly NOT changing its name." This was the quote from Mark Siegel, Executive Director for Media and Analyst Relations with Cingular Wireless. It appears that Ed Whitacre, CEO of SBC (now to be called AT&T) and Stan Sigman, CEO of Cingular, haven't spoken over the phone in a while. Perhaps before CEOs of major companies go on the record and in the press they should consult their legal advisors? Just a thought...

Please, don't hate on Marcus. What exactly did he do to you? Evidently, some of you don't realize how bad it's gotten. Stan, Ralph, Kathy, and LeAnn truly do not care about anything but the almightly dollar. And not one employee will receive a penny more than absolutely necessary until all $41 billion of the AT&T Wireless acquisition is paid for. After that, no employee will receive a nickel more than absolutely necessary. My advice to you all is ...

Well I certainly hope they do integrate A LOT of the AT&T appreciation tactics into the organization, or they are going to lose a lot of employees in the coming months. They aren't even going to have a chance to retain me. We can all put puns on AT&T's leadership for approving the buyout, but I am quite certain they didn't know what kind of organization Cingular was. We can also say they were being fined heavily because ...

And to go along with rep12345, when you are union it is all about seniority...I'd rather have me selected as a floor manager with my few years experience than some dumb a**wipe leader intern who is a complete fool who doesn't know their own a** from a hole in the ground. FIX IVR...Prompt to call from landline for troubleshooting!
Jul 9, 2005, 3:10 AM

We NEED to all emphasize to our floor managers, area managers and directors the importance of changing the IVR system so that when you select the option for phone problems that it clearly says "if you are having trouble with your wireless phone, please call back from another phone with your wireless phone in hand" like it does for XBM. This would help so we wouldn't always have to place o/b calls from our desk phones, have the ...

Unions are for companies that don't treat employees well; if you treat your employees well with good pay, good benefits, good recognition of performance programs and bonuses, you don't need a union. Funny how unions only show up when employers treat their employees like sh*t and have to negotiate EVERYTHING...like PAY INCREASES! It's interesting that AT&T Wireless never needed one - oh that's right! They knew the value of a worker! They weren't more concerned ...

Blue before Orange...
Jun 30, 2005, 2:52 PM
in the AT&T forum

Does everyone remember the good old days under blue when we had 5-10 minutes between almost every call? Ever since we've been orange, we haven't hired a single care rep (that would mean no new hires in 8 months) and at the most we have 2 1/2 minutes between calls. Ahh the good old days...just savor the memory because it'll never happen again.

How long have you been with the company? Sounds like you know what the "real orange" is like. Those of us former blue employees took this merger much harder than I think orange reps did - orange always did things the same old way; everything revolving around the dollar. You would have loved working for blue; we had incentives to come to work; bonuses, time off for good performance, parties for good QA, happy co-workers, etc. ...

Hence our service levels are now going down the toilet because they keep undertiming excessive amounts of people. We go into queue LONG & HARD and they don't care. You are totally right; the most amount of calls for the least amount of money. I won't be surprised if we are soon to the way orange always had it; in queue the entire time we are open and accepting calls.

Well if you are a good employee then I don't see why they wouldn't offer you something at Springfield or Rantoul or somewhere else. Legacy Blue Reps...Do You Follow PAR Now???
Jun 29, 2005, 7:22 PM

I used to be a blue rep before we were converted orange. For those of you blue reps still taking strictly blue calls, are you under the PAR system yet? Good thing I've got my stats in order...but it ultimately takes away from the ...

Umm, the only reason we "blue" reps give numbers and advise the customer to call them is because if we transfer in any way (cold or warm) it impacts our stats now! Thanks so much to orange for this. For those of you who don't know what PAR is please disregard, but after approximately 4-5 transfers TOTAL in a day we then fail our entire day's statistics from transfers alone. But alas, the quality department is now telling ...

Actually, the .343 version is exclusive to the AT&T branded device, and the 1.3 is exclusive for Cingular, from what I know. Honestly, I have heard horrible stories surrounding the Cingular firmware versions, but the AT&T NBO branded device has worked just fine for me. The first time around was the only time around, unlike the Cingular device, no pun intended hehe.

Funny thing is that the RAZR ACTUALLY costs (in reality) $530.00 without a contact and the MPX220 $379.00. These are the wholesale prices. Again, way to bust on the 8th grader without an education? Umm, no...when I was his/her age - I kept up with technology, too. To my 8th grade buddy: Just goes to show you the ignorance of older people.

OK...Let's stop busting on the 8th grader here. We need to realize younger people often realize things older people don't. On the topic of commercials, the only reason the RAZR is on tv is because it is the Cingular flagship phone that costs a lot. Have you EVER seen ANY OTHER MOTO PHONE ON TV??? The answer, if you watch any of the major networks, is NO. Everyone knows that there is absolutely no point in relying fully ...

They really have improved a lot: bluetooth, EDGE, video recording, camera (with 640x480 - I know we were expecting 1.0MP, but at least it's a CCD chip and not CMOS garbage!!!), MP3 playback (with SD card), integrated email (POP3 and IMAP), etc. Not to mention the biggest upgrade of all - 4,096 colors to ...
