Re: How To Find Out About Discount
Jul 24, 2005, 8:10 PM

Try to contact the Human Resources dept., or the current HR director, and request the Foundation Account Number or ABI number, if on is available. The Former AT&T Wireless provided discounts to most, if not all, of the US gov. branches. There is a web-validation tool available but I'm sure if applies to you because you are in retired status. I would contact HR first. Otherwise, you can attempt the online tool at: http://www.cingular.com/discounts It will not be able to ...

Trust me, I will have this phone. I thought about getting the E815 in a few months but I liked the feature list of the Samsung better. I am alos sick of the current Moto software. If Moto would have had there new software release on the E815, I would not hesitate to buy it. Both phones are calling me but the Samsung seems to be a touch louder.

The i730 cannot be BT tethered to be used as a laptop... VZW is concerned that users may take advantage of the EV-DO capability and possibly bog down the network... I personally recommend the review at mobiletracker.com; very in-depth

Interesting Move...

IMO, this this move by the manufacturers will help prevent any lawsuits similar to that of NTP vs RIM type lawsuits. Especially in the case of Samsungs RAZR-like offering.

I find this to be a good move for Motorola. Sendo has been proved to have a stable and well executed OS. I hope this means Moto will produce smartphones similar to the z100 ans sendo X offerings. These two units blow any current Moto smartphone out of the water IMO.

I've never had trouble using an overseas phone on VZW's neetwork. The only thing that does't operate fully is the data service. I have a Moto 10th anniversary StarTac and Moto Spinner 2 that work just fine as far as the voice aspects. If I feel I need the data, I just go on the net and change the IMEI to my Audiovox XV6600 :D

This was pulled from the VZW site concerning voicemail: Basic Voice Mail Voice Mail takes a caller’s message when you can’t answer the phone. You will receive a message waiting indicator to let you know that a message has been left for you. Not available in some areas. Airtime applies to message retrievals from your wireless phone. I see VZW as the "thinking mans" company. What good is a high-end phone on a sub-par network? A phones worth should be based on that primary function: making and receiving calls. Would you rather have a Cadillac Escalade fully loaded with an 1.2 Liter I-4 engine putting out 120hp and 110 lb/ft of torque fueled by regular octane gas, or a Ford Crown Victoria with a premium package, housing a 5.6 Liter V-8 putting out 445hp and 430 ...

As a consumer, I find your point to be valid. I agree with upholding a company's reputation. However, as a CSR, I would really hope your view of a public forum would not cause awaning of support for your carrier. The customer service scores that are given to a company do not include threads in a public forum. JD Powers does not come to phonescoop and rate according to anonymous threads. One slice of bread covered with a filling. Therefore, a ...

Hey, you never know... A similar idea worked for Microsoft. Release a crappy software bundle, use the complaints to resolve the issues, then charge full price for the newer "fixed" version. And if you protest or, better yet, boycott the product, there are two more companies who do the same with less frequency :D

I've never had a problem with VZW customer service. I work in BCS for Cingular Blue, and VZW's "standard customer care reps" are something to brag about. I often compare them to my dept. because of the level of professionalism the provide. I may rarely have to call CC but its always a delight when I do.

I think the reason you can only Sprint-branded phones with Sprint is their management and billing systems. To my knowledge, the sprint systems will only recognize an ESN from a predetermined lists of ESN's. Once a branded device is assembled and assigned an ESN, that ESN is entered in the database almost immediately. The system will not recognize any ESN that is not on the list. On the other hand, VZW systems will accept an ESN from a non-VZW ...

They give ok prices through NEAS and the 30% discount in store is fine as well. Its even better when you take 30% off of a BT headset. I think the unlim N&W feature is $4.99 or 9.99, but I may be wrong. I know MTM is $9.99.

There is no charge for the base ERP. 1000 mins, 200 txt, 5MB data, LD included, and no roaming. Its better than any consumer or dealer plan, but not the blue plan. I've grown accustomed to the free and unlimited aspect of the blue world. Plus, my usage exceeds 100 mins per month. We can add unlim N&W and MTM, but at retail cost. I'm just used to two phones for the price of one (employee and rival personal)
