For ATT connection, it is "*99#" without out the quotation marks.

Based on my research, I decided to buy the Jabra Freespeak 250. Almost all reviews recommend Jabra Freespeak 250. I never used other BT headset and I have nothing to compare. But I like this unit. It has feedbacks by different types of beeping. This can be a big plus. I tried it with SE T637 and V551, and both phones worked flawlessly. To me the price was bit high, but I ...

Re: EDGE Speed via Tethering to Laptop?

There are various websites where you can check the internet speed. One I usually use is the http://speedtest.dslreports.com/. Also the http://www.cnet.com has the broadband meter toward the bottom of the list of options on the left side. Or the AT&T tech rep recommended http://www.2wire.com, but I never got it working for me. These sites measures actual internet connection speed regardless of connections between a computer and your cellphone. If you share your internet speed with your cellphone, I ...

EDGE Speed via Tethering to Laptop?

Has anyone tried to tether V551 and a PC? My connection speed is only around 25 kbs download and 25 kbs upload. V551 should be Class 4 EDGE and Class 10 GPRS. AT&T technical assistant told me that the EDGE tethering should be 60 to 80 kbs and GPRS is 20 to 45 kbs. I have AT&T SIM and they told me that it should not make any difference. Has anyone got the EDGE speed via V551? ...

Whenever I try to change the skin under Settings->Personalize, my V551 crashes and reboot without changing the skin. I thought something was wrong with my phone and got it replaced under the warranty. My replacement phone does the same. Is this a bug?

I don't know my SIM is 64K SIM, but I have AT&T plan with AT&T SIM. My V661 has a Cingular logo on one of the keys and it works fine.

No need for a special software. After it gets paired, your "My Bluetooth Places" should show an icon for file transfer. Double click and it should show three folders: Audio, Picture, and Video. Sometimes my laptop has a difficult time connecting to my V551. I just turn off and on, and it backs to normal for me. :)

Re: compare vs Sony T637

I had both, and I ended up with V551. I am in Souther California (LA country) and AT&T customer. Signal reception seemed to be comparable. My T637 switched back and forth with AT&T and Cingular, but my V551 only connects to Cingular. T637 is smaller and lighter by about 0.5 oz. But V551 feels sturdier. T637's keyboard are small, but surprisingly very well workable. V551 was more comfortable. Sound quality seems about the ...

I am using this with Jabra 250. I can answer the phone with a touch of button on the Jabra. The outlisde display shows the caller ID. In other words, for an incoming call, I see the outside display for caller ID and press button on the Jabra to answer a call. Also, I can make a call with the phone closed if there is voice dialing assigned to the phonebook. This works quite ...

Is T637 64K SIM Compatible?
Nov 2, 2004, 7:57 PM
in the Sony Ericsson T637 forum

I am thinking of getting T637 via ATT, but I read on several places that current cellphones will be replaced with "64K SIM" compatible phone due to ATT and Cingular merge. I am not smart enough to understand this, but it worries me about me getting this phone and have to replace in a few month. :( Anyone with insights? Thank you in advance. bbkim
