I'll admit that I don't know the exact demographics of iPhone users. as of 2009, the age demographics were as follows:
13-17 : 5%
18-24 : 13%
25-34 : 29%
35-54 : 36%
55 + : 17%
I think it's safe to say that the age group of 25-34 would care the most about technological features. So mebbe we can say that 70% don't really care much about the tech specs, which is still a big number.

it's not dishonesty. it's called making adjustments based on more information. that's the difference between progressive organizations and stagnant organizations. That's why the NFL is doing so well while the MLB is losing out, because the NFL is progressive and the MLB "sticks with tradition."
I'm pretty sure your beliefs changed as you get older. historically, young liberals become old conservatives as they have more income and have a family to take care of.

well I think if I were with the rest of VZW's 90% customer base and not the 10% customer base that you represent, I wouldn't care about LTE and hop onto the iPhone instantly.
additionally, if I were a C-level executive for VZW and Apple, I'd launch LTE with iPhone 5 to maintain an a year after year increase in cashflow and revenue.
as a VZ stock holder, I'm happy either way :-)

you want to know the benifits about working at VZW and all you care is about the discount service? This isn't your regular retail phone shop - VZW has a lot more benifits than just 40% discount on your plan ... hell, I think a discount service phone plan is nothing compared what VZW has to offer -
-Inexpensive health and dental
-Tuition - Prepay and Reimbursement (even for PT) - $4k for PT, $8k for FT
-Matching 1-to-1 401 up ...

iPhone is awesome. the OS on there is probably the best OS I've ever used on any phone I've ever purchased. It's so seemless and the response time and accuracy is on point. A lot of R&D went into the iPhone, which is why it's awesome than these other copy cats that churn out phones every 6 months (not enough R&D into it).
But the iPhone is not on the VZW network so I wont bother because ...

I guess the arguement here for VZW is - "why give away the farm when your competition isn't?"
Looking at the competitive analysis in regards to customer retention programs, it seems like VZW's reductions is marginally better than the rest of the competition. Although it may be marginal, it is better and the overall customer public will respond to whatever is #1, whether the difference of benifits between #1 and #2 is an inch or a mile.

It's truly not a hassel. I can do it with my eyes closed in 0.5 seconds. It's pressing the "OK" then "CLR", which are adjacent to each other. I'd go to the store and try it out yourself.

I pocket dial probably about once a week (either w/ random numbers are someone in the phonebook). And that's with my lock feature on the phone (to unlock I press the OK button twice) Sure, it is annoying when you pull your phone out and you are like "damnit I called someone" but it's not a deal breaker.
Rumor has it that there is a firmware update that fixes the "pocket dial" problem by modifying the phone lock feature ...

enV2 = text/messaging eccentric. once you go keyboard you can't go back. you can do a lot more with the keyboard than just txt, like inputting contact info more efficiently and entering events into your calender more quickly. you will also find yourself using the notepad feature a lot more than you would with a standard phone keypad - i use the notepad feature all the time.
Chocolate 3 = music eccentric. the biggest seller for ...

Senior citizens, especially retired ones, have a lot of money to waste and will pay premium for something like this.
I put this underneath the same category as that mind game for the Nintendo DS ... that thing sold like crazy for the middle aged market.

I hear your pain. I think it's ridiculous for them to charge you per MB on a site that you buy things from. It's like having to pay so you can browse through a store because you are using up their space and their resources when browsing.
