I did last week. And just got back from store after returning it. Battery life is just terrible and I am not one that wants to carry a second battery, bolt on the brick extended life battery or always have it plugged in. Still waiting for one of these devices to come with some juice.

Should we still return it? I am thinking it will require a software update so if we return it we would just get a phone that behaves the same way. Thoughts?

I don't know guys. I have the 8800 (black) for work. I HATE it. Fingerprints are so pronounced on the black version that the police wouldn't have to fingerprint me if I got arrested, they can take my 8800 and put it in my file. I am ditching cingular (cause their service is horrendous) and selling the 8800. Getting this silver one when it hiots the stores. Will stay cleaner than the black....

Does anyone know why this phone does not support data? Are there plans to eventually do that? I dont understand the need for Querty unless you support data. IMO. Of course, there are those that txt and love this feature. To me, txt'ing is something that is done with one hand. ;) If this phone had data support, I would get it...since it doesnt, seems like a over-glorified device that just looks pretty.

I did the same thing and got the letter from VZW and sent that one in as wekll. Question is, which court haering do we qualify for? I would think both.

The final hearing is now set for March. I beleive extra time is now needed since VZW "forgot" to inform 60,000 customers of the settlement case.

I didn't receive any confirmation, nor did i receive anything form verizon even though I qualify for what will be a "credit". I think the whole thing is very poorly organized and wouldnt be surprised if it takes 5 years off of everyones life trying to get this friggin thing resolved.

Return uit. There is a 1 year warranty. As long as VZW recreates at the shop, they will replace it,. Mine has been replaced 3 times now.

UPDATE: Just got back from Verizon: They swapped my v710 out for a new one. This is V710 Number 4 for me!!! What a piece!

Hi Guys. Here's my story. I too am part of the class action lawsuit. Not sure if you realize it but, you dont have to have the original v710 you bought I beleive. My deal is this. I bought my original v710 well before the class action effective date. Problem is, I am on my 4th v710 since!!! 2 of them - charger connection (on the phone) became defective 1 of them - the bluetooth never ...

Hi All, Sorry if this topic has been beat to death already... Has Verizon released an upgrade to the software for the V710 yet? If so, where and how do you get it? I received an email from a VZW supervisor who said this was on the way about a month ago. Thanks in advance.

Wow - I just notified Motorola of this problem. Is it like 6 symmetrical scratches you were seeing?

This is simply not true. Verizon has confirmed that this is an erroneous , mis-informed claim. While Verizon is acting a bit big-brotherish with restricting this phones capabilities, they also put their phones through vigorous Quality Assurance Tests (some say this is the reason they are so slow to market with phones). So, having a recalll would be bad press...
