Best Bluetooth Earpiece
Jun 6, 2005, 8:53 AM
in the Techs & Trends forum

I know everyone has a different opinion on this question but I have certain requirements and am looking for a new earpiece. I have a hearing problem and need either a earpiece with very loud volume or one that plugs right into the ear canal so that I can hear clearly. Currently, I am using the Motorola HS810. Works great except many times the volume is not loud enough for me. Any suggestions would be ...

Spam Filtering

I do not use a sever to forward my email to my Blackberry but rather have my pop3 mail account forward my email. That really offers one major problem, I am not able to control the amount of spam that my pop3 account forwards. I know that they use a spam filter but I still get much more spam than I want. Is there any 3rd party, software that I can add to my Blackberry which will ...

Increasing quality of coverage within my home

I just switched from Verizon to Cingular (my company made that decision for me). I got the Blackberry 7100G and find it a great phone. Only problem, I get mediocar coverage inside my house. I do get coverage, but it varies from room to room. I travel about 15 days a month on business and find that the coverage offered by Cingular is about the same as Verizon (at least in the places that I ...

Re: Easy fix for VX6600 Ringer Volume Problem

I agree with you that the Audiovox Phone could be great but even with a Bluetooth headset, I was not able to hear voices loud enough to make the phone work. I returned my phone and have gone on looking for the "Perfect PHone." Thanks for your reply.

I don't think so. Audiovox sent me out a step byb step instruction sheet telling how to do the procedure. I followed it to the letter. I returned the VX6600 the very next day.

I tried to contact Blackberry but was told that they do not sell direct and that I have to go through a Carrier (Cingular or T-Mobile) to buy the phone.

I am looking for a Blackberry 7100g. I know that they are available from Cingular for a Business customer but I an not a business customer. Does anyone have any knowledge when the 7100g will be available to me from Cingular. Secondly is there anywhere I can buy a 7100g. Forget suggesting eBay as I don't want to go there.

Thanks for your reply. Two problems with the 650. I know the keyboard on the 650 has changed but it still is way too small for me to use (I tried). Secondly, the 650 does not have "push" email. I know that the Treo 650 is based on the Palm OS. Does anyone know if you can use graffiti on the 650. I think that I would find graffitti faster (for me to ...

Thanks for the reply. Verizon's 7250 is "big and clunky."

New Blackberry on Verizon????

in the Rumor Mill forum

I currently am a Verizon customer and travel about half of the month throughout the entire US. Verizon consistently has the best coverage in most areas. Now, here is my dilemma. I want a Blackberry. Not the old (clunky) BlackBerry but the new 7100 series BlackBerry. I would have the best of both worlds, being able to use this device as a phone and also being able to retrieve my email (pushed). I know that the 7100 series currently offered ...

You are right the 7100 series currently are GSM, but they are really a phone with a Blackberry built in while your device the 7250 or the 7750 is really a Blackberry with a phone built in. They are much smaller and do a lot more then either Blackberry that Verizon offers. What I was trying to say was that I would love to use a device configured like the 7100 series with Verizon (I do know ...

New Phones???????

I know that there is a lot of speculation as to the availability of new phones. Specifically, I am looking for a Blackberry 7100 series. I do not want the old, clunky, Blackberry 7250 that just came out under Verizon. The Blackberry 7100 is shaped like a phone and the voice characteristics are great. It also is able to received "pushed" email which is a definite requirement for me. I have even considered leaving Verizon ...

Pre-Purchase Questions

I am seriously thinking of buying the Blackberry 7100 for Cingular. I have a few questions before I switch service and buy this devise. I travel on business throughout the entire USA (mostly large cities). I would use this device as a pone and as a way of getting my email. I do not plan to browse the internet with the Blackberry. 1. Is the ringer loud enough to be heard? 2. Is the ...

Is volume an Audiovox problem? I just purchased and returned two days later the Audiovox 6600 PDA/Phone Designed for Verizon. Great phone, only problem is that you can't hear the ringer, speakerphone and also the earpiece volume is way too low. The conversation on the formus and user groups all talk of this problem on the VX6600. Verizon is getting a lot of returns because of this problem on the VX6600. Sounds like the ...

I just got off the phone for a second time with the tech people at Audiovox and they don't have a clue as to how to fix the problem. Since the phone was introduced, many people have been complaining about the volume of the ringer (so low that you can't even hear it) and the volume of the built-in earpiece (so low that you can barely carry on a conversation.) I made many called to Verizon but ...

It was not a bad batch. It was the entire lot of VX6600s. I just got off the phone with Audiovox, there is a known problem with the volume, both ringer volume and also earpiece volume and the software fix that they just put out doesn't fix the problem.

I just bought the new Audiovox XV6600 and installed the new ROM upgrade (software fix). I also bought a Motorola Bluetooth Earpiece from Verizon. Hidden Bugs I can understand but what is the first thing you check on a new phone, voice characteristics (Including acceptable volume on the ear piece) and ringer sound. You call yourself to check and make sure that it works. If you can't hear the sound, you fix it before you sell it. Believe me, I want this phone to work and after they fix it, I will be the first one to run over and ...

I just went into my local Verizon store and bought the new XV6600. They activated the phone and then tried to call me but we could not hear the ring tone (it was there but so low that you could bearly hear it.) We then tried the one other XV6600 in the store and had the same problem. The salesman and ...

Voice Quality
Feb 14, 2005, 11:45 PM

I have tried two Blackberry models from Verizon in the past and found that both of them have terrible sound (Voice) qualities. The Verizon network was great and email was quickly available throughout the entire United States (most areas). But the problem existed with Voice Quality. How is the reception with this model and how does the voice sound using this model? Voice has to be my number one concern because I have to hear and be ...

I am thinking about buying a Blackberry and using it with Verizon. I have been told by several friends that the voice quality of a Blackberry is not nearly as good as it is for most standard cell phones. I want to be able to get my email but voice quality is very important to me. Is that true, because I need good voice characteristics for my business. Thanks for any information.
