I saw the US version of the Z3 (Not the Compact) in a Sony store. It was owned by an employee of Sony Mobile. He said the compact version had the same features. All I can say is "ME WANT!"

I think I will wait a little while, just to see what bugs may show up. Last time I did an OS updadte like this, my phone kept on crashing.

One otherthing I forgot to mention. Sony also has the Xperia ZL. Its oretty much the same phone as the Xperia Z, but it has LTE (4G) & is unlocked. You might want to look at the Xperia Line on the Sony Web site, so you can compare & see what options you like. You can also visit a Sony store to try them out. (If there is a store in your area.)

Yes, they are 2 diffrent units. The Unlocked version will only have HSPA (3G) The LTE(4G) version will be locked to T-mobile. This is the same with the Xperia Z. Unlocked (3G) HSPA. LTE Version (4G) 0n T-mobile.

Sony only makes GSM devices at this time. The LTE Xperia Z1's are rumored to be sold through T-Mobile only @ this time.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but all Apple products have Sony cameras in them. It is useing Apples software, but its still a Sony camera. The new Xperia Z phones have an Excellent camera as well as HTC & Nokia. I really doubt it is the best picture from a phone.

That phone has been available online & at the Sony Stores for about a month now. True it does not have LTE! Why was T-Mo taking so long? I got the Xperia ZL, so I could get LTE. It’s pretty much the same phone, but without the Water/Dust proof feature. Both are great phones!

Cool Phone!

I have seen 2 people with this phone, both work for Sony. The screen is Awesome, & so is the Camera! Did really get to do much with it. Wondering how it will hold up against the Samsung Galaxy S4 when it comes out.

I had worked there for 3 months as a 2nd job. A lot of sales mangers would take sales from the sales people, and lie about it. Most of the managers did not know what they were doing, let alone the service they were selling. I also didnt get what was with the RS training. they wanted you to know about Satellite TV service (that is not sold in Target) and about RS real estate. WTF is that about?

A lot of people that have family internationally get them because you don’t get charged for international text messages on BBM. Also Blackberry devices are still more secure than IOS devices.

That is true, but lets not forget about Music & Movies, as well as stocks they own in other companies. (Compainies not under the Sony name) On the TV note: even Samsung is not turning a profit, as the LCD screens are expensive to make. Thats why Sony sold the LCD factory to Samsung. Its cheaper to subcontract it out than to make.

Thats only on TV's go look up all of Sony's stocks. They even own companies not under the Sony name. Plus, Sony has been restructuring for the past couple of years. True, Sony's marketing sucks! That could change. It wasnt long ago, that Apple was about to shut down. Also Steve Jobs said he took design quesues from Sony. (As he did from other companies as well)

I think once Apple tries to sue Sony, here is what could come. Sony would pull their Music & Movies out of Itunes. Sony also ownes the rights to the micro lens on most phones. (The camreras Apple uses is one of them) Dont forget, Sony will play dirty with Apple, & has the history to prove it. I am not saying Sony is untouchable, but I will say they have been in the game a lot longer than ...

The one thing you forgot, is that Samsung has a touch screen TV. Also Sony has a Google TV, & Apple isnt going after them. Maybe because Sony pretty much owns more patens than patents than Apple.

If I was in the service industry I would get it. just because its rugged & it Android. I would say that would be the market for it. Or someone who breaks a lot of phones. & I don’t think you would need to worry about some punk stealing a yellow phone. Just trying to find the market for it.

I might be wrong, but cant you just download the app in question for most IOS & Android devices? I have downloaded apps for features I wanted on my devices so far. Granted, I dont use a lot of carrier features.

Or people will puchase prepaid devices & get them activated on the carrier they want. (With the carrier supported device of course) I dont expect much to happen with this case, as it has more to do with the carrier than the device maker. Also it could be said they have a choice to purchase a device without a contract.

I gave up after the 3rd rep, & went to some dealer that offers to unlock any phone for $20.00 It was some guy that was recommended on Yelp. It took about 5 min to do, & I can still update my phone.

They should unlock it, but if you but the phone out right, AT&T has a bad habit of saying they can’t unlock it because it’s (your phone) on a contract. You can even tell them you can produce a receipt showing that you paid full price, & they will not care. This is on any phone, not just Iphones.

.The $25.00 fee is a good question. Call Telenav & see what they say. I tried other services before I paid $25.00 for this service. And to be honest, $25.00 for one year isn’t that bad. As far as I know, Google GPS will not work on these systems. Telenavs Scout also works like yelp also, so its not just a GPS system. Not sure if you need that, & its really simple to use.

There is something you might have overlooked. Google has a good GPS service, so please don’t get me wrong. To get the full GPS experience through Google, you need an Android device. 3rd party apps such as Telenav mentioned in the article will work on more than 1 platform with the full GPS system. They do offer a free service, as well as charging for the full GPS system. This service will allow you to use the GPS from ...

This service will allow the GPS system in your phone, to be viewed in the LCD screen on your stock car stereo. You can also use the service on the Sony GS line car stereos, as well as JVC, Pioneer, ect. Although you will need a supported device for it to work. Its really cool, you should check it out.

I believe most of those companies also work with the Mirror Link Consortium that allows you to connect to the car audio system wirelessly. Apple is not, so you may still be forced to have a wired connection for Apple products. (Lots of Pros-Cons on both sides)

The main reason I use 3rd party GPS applications like Telenav, is I noticed they have a more complete mapping system. Along with you don’t need an Android phone to get complete GPS ( I have Android, Wife has IOS). Not saying Google’s GPS isn’t good, just saying some of those 3rd part GPS systems give a more complete GPS system. Also, Telenav has Scout, a free GPS service, you can also opt to pay for the full ...

Actually I work for a wireless carrier, so I am not worried about paying any fees. Also, you are correct, you do get what you pay for. I tried Metro for about 2 weeks. From what I saw, there was no difference between their customer support & Boost customer support. If they work good in your area, Great! If not Other carriers have prepaid options as well.
