I can't make DO calls after canceling Vcast. Anyone else?

I canceled the stupid Vcast $15 bundle pack. Since then I can't make EVDO calls with any application (GIN, Mobile Web, USB, etc...) I can use all of these if I leave the DO range and fallback to 1X, but when the phone is in DO coverage no data apps work. Anyone else seeing this?

Only 10 contacts per group?!?!?

Is it actually true that you can only add 10 contacts to a group?!?! The 'No Group' can start out with all if the contacts, but new groups seem to be limited to 10?

USB-USB cable? (Not USB-Serial Converter cable)

I picked up the vx6000 cable for my vx8000 only to find the blob in the middle is a usb to serial port converter forcing the connection to the vx8000 to be serial. Does someone make a usb to usb cable to connect usb all the way to the vx8000?

After 4 days of use, I've found these issues (at least they are issues in my opinion). If anyone knows workarounds for these please tell. Cannot configure duration of low setting of backlight (fixed at 5 seconds) Vibrate then ring can only use loudest ring volume! Vibrate and ring can only use loudest ring volume! Vcast volume setting #2 too loud, setting #1 is the same as #0 (mute) Vcast audio plays on outter speaker, not inner speaker (causing sound to ...

I've posted some pictures taken with my 8940 and they are sure horrible. And before people reply telling me this is a phone not a digical camera, I know that and my expectations weren't high, but I was still very dissapointed. Is it just my 8940, or are other people's pictures this bad as well? http://centerclick.org/audiovox8940/

I picked up a 8940 yesterday and the usb cable today (from radio shack, which is the futuredial #28). If anyone is wondering, data calls do work, though it's probably not a good idea until you cancel vcast. bitpim can view the fs, pictures are under /brew/shared/jpeg/ and videos under /brew/shared/mpeg/. They can be downloaded via bitpim. I was using debian sarge, linux 2.6.9, and bitpim 0.7.26.

miniSD question

So, I've been reading the posts, and I'm confused about what exactly you can do with the miniSD card. Can you transfer items from internal flash to the miniSD card and they end up encrypted on the SD card or can you not transfer them in the first place? If you can transfer them can someone post some files in their encrypted form?

Because VZW told them not to. Duh, this is VZW we are talking about... Why include something that isn't necessary when you can make a 80% margin selling it seperately?

It'd be nice to see the camera quality before buying. If someone can post some pictures taken at the highest resolution that would be great. Thanks.

CDM-8940 has mp3? huh? now i'm confused...

Humm... the Audiovox CDM-8940 phone page says no mp3, but the desciption on the CES page (Day 2) says it does. Which one is right?

Can someone who already has the phone please answer these questions? Can the USB data cable be used to: 1) Transfer pictures off the phone? 2) Transfer videos off the phone? 3) Transfer mp3s on/off the phone? 4) Transfer contacts/etc.. on/off the phone? 5) Create IS95/1xRTT/1xEVDO data calls from a laptop/PDA? Thanks.

Prove it. Scan in or take a picture of your card you got in the mail and post it.

Does anyone know from previous years if VZW will release new phones during their holiday network lock-down? If not, then in my opinion, there is zero chance this phone will be released before early January.
