Is Opera Mini 4.0 supported by the verizon pearl? On the opera site it states that it does not support it(see link). I loaded over the air with no problem and everything seems to be working. Just wondering.

Thank you very much! I have been with Verizon for ten years and have no real complaints. I'm just new to BB and trying to find out as much as possible. This phone seems to good to be true it's kind of freaky. Do you have a location to get good reliable 3rd party apps.

For Verizon customers.
If I download and use google maps does verizon charge you? I have the 29 dollar plan and don't want to get nailed with a higher bill. Also the map provided on the phone is this through verizon? I haven't touched it as I'm new to the BB and don't want to get nailed.
Also I here everyone talk about opera browser is this a cost increase with verizon.

Calender
Is there a program to upgrade the Calender to use icons or colors to hi-lite personal and or work related events? Also is there a way to have special events show up more than just bolding the number of the day?
Debating Purchase
I currently use the treo 650 (at the time I wanted to eliminate carrying both a cell and PDA). I've been debating on upgrading to the 755 or going with the Pearl. I need and love the organization the palm offers and it seems as If I can get all that with the Pearl but what about add on software. Here are the steps
download and install iTunes if you don't already have it.
1. Open iTunes and select your "Library."
2. Right-click on a song you would like to use as a ringtone and select "Get
Info"
3. In the newly opened window click on the "Options" tab.
4. Check the boxes to the left of "Start Time:" & "Stop Time:"
5. Enter a "Start Time:" and a "Stop Time:" Verizon/Motorola V710 rings for
approx. 25 seconds, so a 25 second time ...

It's an accessory for about 40 bucks on amazon you can get a 125mb card and reader. It's well worth it as you can move things back and forth, It also allows you to not bog down your phone internal memory.
If you place the phone to your ear in the right spot it's no a problem it's not that hard to figure out. The also had a hack to increase the volume which worked for me. People are saying ...

Just a very well researched and informed consumer. I did a ton of research on this phone and new what I was getting when I bought it.

You should do a search and find all the different way's you can use the blue-tooth functions. I think you will find that it is not a crippled as you think. Many people on this site give great advice and can help you find solutions to most of you questions.

It really depends on what you want from your phone and price you are willing to pay. Signal strength, voice command, and speaker phone a pretty much identical. The V710 is a lot bigger and can do more things and allows you more freedom with the transflash. The V265 screen is small and not that great but workable. Both have incredible loud and clear ring tones and speaker phones.

I would have to disagree with you. As a person who actual owns the phone, I think the construction of the phone is on par if not better than other cell phone companies. Everyone seems to have a problem with moto construction material (i.e. afraid to hold the phone too tightly, thinking it might just shatter into pieces) of there phones but every other company is using the same material.

The link above gives step by step direction using itunes(which is free to download).
Just make sure in itunes that under preference that you have your conversion set to mp3
Itunes works great and is easy.
If you do a search on the subject on this board you will find it's been covered a bunch and you can do it with other programs.
Photo quality suggestion
If you use a transflashe for you photo transfer (why pay verizon). I noticed if you increase the brightness of the photo it really enhances the photo quality. I've used multiple photo editors and had the same results.

It's much more compact than the verizon case (clip does not stick out as much and not all puffy lookin) and makes the phone look less bulky. It also covers more of the screen and keypad with a much better fit around the camera. I have always like the Body Glove case look and feel, they seem to take more care in the design. I hated having the verizon case on the phone looked like garbage.

I didn't have to change mine to a .mid, just left it as an .mp3 and works fine as a ring tone. There is a great post on this site that works perfect.
