Because their Fire Phone is tanking
Honestly, if you're going up against the likes of Samsung and Apple, you better know what the f*ck you're doing. Amazon obviously didn't. I mean hell, even Microsoft has a hard time keeping up.
I give them credit for trying to make Amazon Prime look better, but (at least for me) Google does everything Prime Photos does...for free. Maybe not unlimited, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's enough for me. I'm not really convinced to switch.
Maybe they ought ...
What's the point?
Is contract free really a big deal when you already have to make payments for 1-2yrs? What happens if you decide you want to upgrade in the middle of paying off the old phone? /;|
Re: Promos are good, but....
Good sir, you have a way with words! That was pure poetry! It's a little more reassuring knowing that this mindset is growing. I try to step out of my social circle and get other people's POV, but here you are. Thank you!
Re: Hope this makes it to court
If a company (or individual for that matter) screws you over then you sue them yourself [...]
Yes! Because we all know that everyone can afford the best attorneys to fairly battle it out in court with a multiBILLION dollar company! No chance of going into debt and filing bankruptcy at all!
Am I reading this right?
The Base plan includes 20 texts and 20 voice minutes *per month*
Which decade are we in? 1989? I'm assuming it's a typo though :P
Why?
I don't want my messages instantly. I'm on Facebook all the time, but when I go out to clubs, concerts, parties, I do not want to be notified of anything related to Facebook. I keep a strict distance from it outside of my home and office. I also don't want to download another app that slows down my whole phone. I don't even have any games or that much apps. It's the whole "upgrading" BS similar to this that's ...
Question!
Before I go into 1984 mode, what is the purpose of improving these camera sensors? For face detection? $345 million just seems a little much...
Wow!
Could it be more obvious that this is a ripoff? I mean c'mon. "About" five days? We all know that crap will last three days tops, even if you're super careful. This is the only secure way to unlock a phone that doesn't require a password, PIN, or drawing? What about my fingerprint? Or my face? Seriously. What a freaking scam. I'll keep that extra $80+/yr in my pocket thank you very much.
Delete
Disregard this thread. Mistook it for another one. Mods, if you could delete this that'd be great.
Can you say Big Brother?
Google said most people will never see a warning or any other indication that this additional layer of protection exists [...]
What's really alarming is that they don't even ask permission to scan your apps NOR WILL THEY WARN YOU. The people who are downloading bad apps should just deal with the consequences like the adults they are. There are numerous resources to fix the problem should you download one.
Sue?
Complaint from the mother, I can totally understand. But outright sue? Keep a closer eye on your godd4amn kid, lady. I really hope she at least made the kid work extra chores to pay off that $65. Ridiculous.
Nice feature nonetheless.
Re: Let's hope this doesn't happen
Very much this. I'm all for T-Mobile running this show if they merge with Sprint.
Here's the TL;DR version
"We're not gonna get caught again."
Most transparent administration my ass.
You're SOL if you actually lose your phone.
I'm glad some of these models still have the old fashion key and lock system as a backup. But that's not my only concern should I leave my phone at the office or a friend's house. In reverse, what if I actually leave my phone at my house and don't realize it by the time I get to the office? Drive all the way back would be an option, but it'd be a big PITA if we actually work ...
Next Update: Video Ads
Just my paranoid opinion. Looks like they're prepping users for video ads. I know a lot of people are annoyed by this feature already. But like anything Facebook, they'll soon forget, quit bitching, and get used to it. It won't be a big deal once they roll out the video ads, especially if they don't have sound either. Very sneaky. It seems the rumors are about to become true. Get adblockers now if you already don't.
How disappointing
Blackberry is riding on the non-removable battery bandwagon now? The complaints are already piling up against again other manufacturers pulling this ****. I don't see them in business much longer if the demand for removable batteries grows in full force.
Re: Sweet!
Couldn't agree more. My only hope is that those new curved batteries coming out within the next or so will be more useful than just looking pretty. I'm not holding my breath.
Re: Just wow
Completely agree.
*facepalm*
Ericsson...not you too?!?
Re: Seriously...
Completely agree. This is getting just as tiring as the damn patent bickering.
"Including Mobile Apps"
So does that mean it's available via desktop? Because I haven't seen it yet. I also find it quite comical that Facebook implements a completely new feature to their mobile app, when I personally know myself and other friends have been wanting that editing feature ever since it went live. Still a great idea as I know I've been opening up extra tabs just to look at them later when I log back in.
