Verizons PTT service works over EVDO Rev A, so to answer the question yes. Matter of fact the way things are right now only txt and voice work over femtocells so once the upgrade is in place this will open it up to everything else that carriers have available

Re: Trying to decide between LG Chocolate and Motorola KRZR...help!

in the LG VX-8500 Chocolate forum

Neither one...Wait a bit longer for the LG 8600 or the Samsung U740. Both are slim type phones like the razr/kazr. LG's will be out in 2 weeks and the samsung U740 which is bad ass in my opinion is going to knock everyone on there ASS. It'll be a slimtype phone(actually) smaller than a razr with a full qwerty keyboard. Enjoy,

If you live in ABQ then your starting pay would be 14.00 to start depending on experience.

Re: Question about push e-mail
May 20, 2006, 2:12 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

Nobody asked so I will. What email service provider do you have? and can you create a forwarding rule from it? If so then get a blackberry device definetly and forward the email to your userID@vzw.blackberry.net and it will be in real time. No exchange or 3rd party required.

Re: Will Hotmail push to the device?
May 20, 2006, 2:04 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

jcw. Everybody is wrong. There's a program in the device specifically for msn or hotmail accts. It's not a push technology but can be configured to get your mail every 15min if thats what you want. Matter of fact in all the new windows mobile 5.0 devices (Treo 700w, audiovox6700, and Moto Q) all come with this program pre-installed....Enjoy. If you dont believe me you can go to any VZW store and see for yourself on there test devices. ...

Re: Data plan?
May 20, 2006, 1:50 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

No, no data plan is needed. Only a pay as you go option which is 0$. However if you do access the web or email from your PDA then you will be charged .015cents per Kilobyte. I you never access the web or email for 2 months then dont worry. Secondly The Treo is a pocket PC, so you'll have a touchscreen to use. The Q is a smartphone so you'll only be able to use the key pads ...

Re: How will this data bill?

If the phones hacked then it uses minutes. The actual hack is changing what is set-up by default. 10digitmin@DUN.vzw3g.com to 10digitmin@vzw3g.com. The "DUN" is data usage to the billing system. w/out that your home free. The billing system will just think it's mobile web.

I cant believe no-ones mentioned churn yet. Everyone just tries to keep the customers they already have. Last qtr Cing was at 2.3% churn. With a cstmr base of 50mil+ thats a lot lost, hence cheaper call plans. Verizon 1.2% and almost 50mil, ergo, status quo thus far.

here's the link. http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delph i/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download Downlo ad XVI32 release 2.51. You'll also need the QPST program to hack the file structure of the 8100. The nvm_data file is what you'll be changing.

Once you see it or do it once you'll never forget. Explaining it is far more difficult than doing it. The HEX editor looks intimidating but you only have to change a few things. The main thing in the HEX editor is when you change anything and leave it blank on the right side where you'll type your 10dgtmin@vzw3g.com there will be some blank space. The left side will have the highlighted cursor and there is where you'll change ...

If your connection drops yes you would have to re-connect. However the connection is backwards compatible and would end up at 60-80kb/s but would still be connected. All this of course depends where you travel. sometimes there's is no signal at all.

the 115.2kb/s you see is the connection between your computer and phone via the cable. signal strength is probably your problem.

Re: i need bluetooth-dun help
Dec 13, 2005, 12:02 AM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

Its slow because of SBC servers. The 115 kb/s which is actually 115.2kb/s your looking at the speed between your BT connection and the computer and not the internet speed itself. I know its shows down in your system tray when connected but thats not it. If you want the True capabilities dont use SBC and use 10digitmin@vzw3g.com. Your phone should have 1x EV at the top and then you'll know you'll have the faster speeds. I ...

yes. 1st. you'll have to get the QPST configuration application to view the file structure your 8100. The file your looking for is the NVM file. This is qualcomms' software for CDMA phones. 2nd. you'll need a HEX editor program "XVI32" to change the DUN connection built in the phone to vzw3g.com from 10digitminDUN@vzw3g.com. after changing the name you'll have to make the value to 00, 00, 00, 00. 3rd. you'll need a Vcast package to connect to the internet with the ...

Verizon will be launching the same phone soon too. The 7250 will have a firmware upgrade the same time that the 7100 series gets launched also. The firmware will be the 4.1 upgrade and that will release the evdo capablilities of the 7250. On a more personal note I dont care much for the 7100. The feel is a very cheap build quality and the keyboard layout will try alot of peoples patience. Overall it looks nice but the ...

Email attachments are not locked on the email application that comes with the Treo 650. I've seen the threads between you and freedomrep and gotta say its entertaining. I work at VZW in dept that deals with the syncing of Treos'. From what I've read it seems that you've never went beyond the 3rd party versamail app on the CD that came with the Treo. 1st you'll need to install datavizs' "Documents to go" from the CD. If you want a Palm then wait until the Treo i700 comes out. Its going to be Windows 5.0 based but worth it in my opinion. The device will still look much the same as the 650 though. If your a palm guy and like the OS then I guess the 650 is ok. Sometime around DEC-Jan you can expect it. The palm OS is buggy and slow. I work at VZW and the windows PDAs are getting really ...

Do you have the 8100? I just got the Samsung 950 and am a little dissapointed with it. Furthermore theres no "shuffle" or "random" option for the MP3s', very annoying if you have over 150 songs.

What are you telling this poor guy... Go to wirelesssync.vzw.com 1st. set up your account. If you have POP or IMAP use the outlook monitor or the "retrieve my email for me" option for POP/IMAP. 3rd: Access get it now with the wireless sync option and the WS App will prompt you for the PW you just created when you setup the acct: Or just call 866-788-9387(WDTS). good day.

I actually got to use this phone for several hours, but its data capabilities were disabled. I shot my mouth off too fast. your right. maverick is right. I do work for verizon in the marketing dept and we actually get the phones several months before anyone else has even seen them. VZW dictates the phones UI. Thats why the samsung A970 has the same UI as the LG 9800, "enough said". Let me just say, and I know factually that the 9800 does not have the wirelesssync s/w or anything else associated with the data usage that the PDAs' have for e-mail. However ...

What you guys need to make sure is that you have vcast active on your vzw accts. This will activate the neccessary features needed in vzws' switches for DUN connections. high speed access------------- access number = #777 Username = areacodexxxxxxx@vzw3g.com PW = vzw Quick 2 net. This slower(14.4kb/s) Try this if the connection above doesn't work.. access number = still #777 username = qnc PW = qnc ...yes both the username and PW are the same.

Were not talking about evdo phones. Were talking about a PDA. The 44.99 feature gives you the access on the net. It's not illegal and they wont cancel your contract either. I've been working at VZW for a while now. I replied in the forum because I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Re: Does it Really Have BlackBerry e-mail support?
Jul 27, 2005, 11:54 PM
in the Samsung SCH-i730 forum

NO there wont be any blackberry solutions for this device at all from VZW. I support this device and many others. Ex; Treos', Blackberrys', pocket pcs' etc. DO Not expect anything to come out at all either. Sorry to be so harsh but take into account that all blackberry solutions require the PIN associated with the blackberry to activate any solution. No other device besides blackberrys have this PIN.
