After Update Issues
While the update was being done and after I noticed my phone was extremely hot (ended up powering off after update to cool down). 24 hours since the update my battery has been draining at a faster pace.
Prior to the July Security Patch all was well with my S7.
Anyone else having these issues?

Re: Just ordered it!
I lucked out and Verizon received shipment on the day I ordered. Received my Maxx today! Its charging right now.
I will have my review sometime next week!
Just ordered it!
I just ordered the MAXX (took advantage of the leap day sale) and got the sale discount $100 + they honored my NE2 of $30 = $169.99. Will receive (at the latest) 3/14.
Re: Any validity to no one will really be "grandfathered" in on any current unlimited plans?
Yes, we will be "grandfathered" as long as you don't change data plans. If you decide to upgrade to a 4G phone that may be considered as a data plan upgrade.
I sent an email and actually discussed on the phone with Verizon. He basically said to watch the website for an official date for the tiered pricing.

Re: update 2.2.1
It causes my Droid to reboot on its own (happened 3-5 times). Also randomly my screen will turn on.
Droid keeps auto rebooting!
I am running FRG83D and I recently upgraded Juice Defender. I am not sure if Juice Defender is causing the reboots or if it is FRG83D.
Any thoughts or ideas?
2.2 update - now I have to enter a PIN
I have 3 email accounts on my phone: GMail, Yahoo & Corportate.
Apparently after the update the Corporate Sync forces me to enter a PIN whenever I answer a call, unlock the phone, etc.
I am going to delete the corporate account. I do have some questions:
Has this happened to anyone else?
If I re-add the corporate account, will I be forced to enter a PIN again?
Re: BATTERY
I just don't - I am not in my car enough, plus I don't use the GPS (google maps) much.
Re: BATTERY
I try to only charge my phone at 20% or less. The only time I charge the phone with a higher battery % is when I will be leaving the house and need to make sure my phone doesn't die (I don't have a car charger).
Re: Manual Official Froyo 2.2 Update
Well I just did the manual update to FRG22D yesterday and removed the Flash I installed via APK and installed from the market.
Still having heavy battery drain since upgrading to 2.2 from 2.1. Anyone else?
Re: Ringtones - My apologizes is already answered
Or you could try: www.funformobile.com. I used to use that with my LG Chocolate Phone.

In regards to flash: I did a google search on flash beta 3 apk and clicked on this link: http://www.droid-life.com/2010/06/17/download -flash-10-1-beta-3-for-motorola-droid/ to install flash.
Both a success!

Manual Official Froyo 2.2 Update
I did the manual update. So far I like what I see. I tried flash - no go. I went to the Market to see if I had to download it - not there.
Am I missing something?
Re: Android 2.2
I have no idea about the official release date, but the July 13th date you are speaking of was just a rumor.

Re: Email App Issue/Question

Email App Issue/Question
I use the Email App (ever since upgrading to 2.1).
I setup 2 accounts:
1) Work - POP3
2) Personal - POP3
When I responded from my Personal email, the contact received the body of an email from my work acct. The email address was right, but the email body was wrong.
Then a week later (could have been less) I opened an email in my Personal Acct and the subject was correct, but the body was from an email that was from ...
Re: Froyo 2.2
Out of curiosity - has an OTA update schedule for Froyo 2.2 been announced? Or is it still in development?

Re: Looking for a good case!
Thanks, but I am looking more for something like this:
http://www.motoroladroidaccessories. com/motorola-droid-aluminum-case-8199.html
This one (http://www.amazon.com/Body-Glove-Snap-Motoro la-Doid/dp/B002XNJCBA) is ok to, but I don't have a need to be able to slide the keyboard out - I am fine with virtual keyboard.
But I would like it in a rubber case (similar to the boot for the BB Curve). I just want a case that I could put the phone in my pocket. Currently I have the Velcro side holster from Verizon.
Re: Looking for a good case!
anyone?
Looking for a good case!
I currently have the full body Invisible Shield by Zagg. I use the Verizon Velcro Case for carrying the phone on my belt. I am looking for a case/glove. I do not need to use the slide out keyboard so a case/glove that covers the device (similar to a Blackberry Boot). A Rubber Case or Hard Case will suffice.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Verizon Market
I am assuming that there won't be a separate icon, but if you click on the Android Market icon there should be 3 options: Apps - Games - Verizon. I assume you would click on Verizon for the Verizon Market.

Re: Not getting notifications on POP3 accounts
Well I did some more research and Gmail was checking for new mail from Earthlink. I clicked on check mail now and Earthlink Sync'd with Gmail.
Re: Not getting notifications on POP3 accounts
FknTwizted,
I setup my Earthlink Account in Gmail and it worked great until yesterday. I haven't been receiving notifications on my Droid. I use Advanced Task Manager to kill processes.
I ran a test and sent 1 email to my Gmail and 1 to Earthlink. Only the Gmail email was received on the Droid, but both were received in their respective accounts (checked from PC).
Is there something I have to double checkin on the Droid or Gmail?
Thanks in ...
Re: Not getting notifications on POP3 accounts
FknTwizted thanks for the information. I tried to setup my Earthlink Account and it wouldn't accept my smtp. So I followed your advice setting up my Earthlink Account in Google - works great!
Re: Ordered the Droid last night!
Just submitted my review! I have downloaded some apps that were mentioned on this forum.
Does someone have a list of apps that I should get to open up the device even more?
I already have the Handcent SMS, Advanced Task Manager.
Thanks!
Re: Ordered the Droid last night!
Got the Droid today - haven't turned it on yet (currently at work).
Verizon has definitely cut down on packaging - the box that it came in wasn't much bigger than the Droid itself.
I also have the Zagg InvisbleSHIELD. Any recommendations on a case?
From a previous phone I have the Jawbone BT (first release) Headset.
I will review this weekend!
