hoyt, shouldn't you be standing on the sidewalk with a top hat on or something trying to get people into your store? Or maybe reading up on the csp so you don't have to call and ask questions ten times a day? I know its a stretch, but common buddy...

One of our Moto reps just came in with one of these, as well as a new flavor of the V3xx...Color me not so impressed. Aparently the GPS will be taken out of it, because it was using the assisted GPS, which Cingu...at&t dosen't quite support yet. One of the girls here with me said the Q9 was a little heavy, I found it to be ok...build quality was good, as well as the keypad layout. ...

They figure your going to use more data with a full QWERTY keyboard...and in theory you could also change the APN from wap.cingular to isp.cingular and it would un-"bottleneck" the connection speeds. I think they came up with the PDA plans first and then the smartphone plans...who knows...it is screwy though and I don't enjoy explaining that one to customers at all....

not *all* of us are clueless in the stores....just 80%...maybe... I don't expect to see this phone in the store until mid January. My nokia rep has a live demo that I was going to check out, but they came to my store on my off day. Kinda miffed about that because I really wanted to compare it to my a707. Now, this same rep has come by with a 8262 and even a 6126, so I'm ...

just talked to my nokia rep...I've been talking with one of my customers who wanted the 6282 but when it got axed he got interested in the N75...so I decided to go to the source and ask my rep. The info I got isn't the most promising (what is these days). Basicly cingy doesn't want any inventory for this phone until after the end of the year. So maybe around Jan 1st it will ship. ...

My Samsung rep came in about a half hour ago with both the 707 and the Blackjack. I've personally been holding onto an upgrade for about a year now because I wanted something that did a little bit of everything...3G, music, ect. All I can say is..WOW. I've never really been that big of a fan of sammy...but both of these samsungs are awesome. The 707 is about the size of the CU500, but is ...

Oct 20, 2006, 11:34 AM

My nokia rep came by the other day (she kinda owed me because she always shows up on my off days) and we got to talking about the N75. The phone has been designed ground up with cingular because after the 6282 (3G slider) and the 6126 were declinded because cingy didn't like them, they decided to go through the whole design process with them. So maybe, just maybe we will see the phone before the end ...

HSDPA...its a little bit smaller too. My HTC rep came by with one a few weeks ago. It feels less boxy in your hand...but its still windows mobile...which means resetting or updating the firmware every month or so.

I have a bit of inside info on this one... The 'hardware' problems are true, and cingy has decided to not release this phone at all...atleast in my market. Since I'm in the southeast I have no idea if this is true of all cingy markets or just my market. At one point my nokia rep came into the store with one, and a 6282, to show them off. Now..in my experience this is not a oddity...I ...

So I posted this in the 6682 forum, but this one might be a bit more active.... Ok, so one of my customers who bought a 6682 from me also has a tungsten T5 and wants to tether them together to surf the web on the palm device. I'm in georgia working for an agent. My rep said that the flip was 'approved' but had not been made official yet...which seems to be the game cingy plays with a lot of the new phones. I would guess that the flip going to come out in the mid-summer months, with the 6282 right behind it.

My nokia rep came by with one of these today and the umts slider (don't remember the model number at the moment) and both were quite nice. The screens on both of them are better than all the phones i have seen to this date...except maybe the v3i. The little button on the right side of the phone is a 'flip assist' that you can push to have the flip open easy with one hand. Camera ...

Not a moto basher. I actually had a V3 long before they were avaliable. I just had problems with it, and ended up exchanging it about three times. I see too many motos in general come back at my store, so my opinon towards motos has gone down. I carry a 6682 right now and it hands down beats any motorola I have ever had. Well, after a week I must say that I have gotten useto the difference in the key pad. Still haven't tried to 'open up' the holes for the speaker, mostly because I've been using my bluetooth earpiece a bunch more. Thanks for finding the ebay store in the first place!

Just got one of these a few days ago and wanted to ask you some questions...I've noticed that my speaker volume (people talking to me) with the new faceplate is lower than before. Have you noticed the same? Also, the black keypad looks better, but seems a little bit loose...not that bad, but dosen't have the same tactile feel as the original. Not sure what else to expect for $3 worth of plastic, but I definatly ...

Again, I really doubt that they would sell them, but I'll shoot my area manager an email tomorrow. Feel free to message me with any other details...I'm one of the 'higher-ups' in my company, so I will see what I can do. Do you know of any particular reason that cingular decided not to release in your market? Personally, I think the phone is kinda meh. But, I'm not that big of a fan of windows mobile devices. I am an agent, and I would doubt that they would be willing to sell ten...you would be looking at $449 a pop if they did, which again, is very doubtful.

I've used a moto H810, and while it was pretty simple to turn on and off, I like my moto H500 more. A little smaller, and holding a button to turn it on and off dosen't bother me. I've tried a bunch of others in my store, and the moto H500 has been my fav by far.

Re: 3G(WCDMA, UMTS/HSDPA) question
Dec 17, 2005, 10:44 PM
in the AT&T forum

HSDPA is to UMTS as EDGE is to GPRS. you will need a phone with HSDPA to take advantage of the faster speeds. I think, and i'm sure someone will say if i'm wrong, WCDMA is the key in the 3G tech. Eventually, when there are enough towers to have the same coverage as GSM, yes WCDMA will replace GSM.

I've had my 32k since day one, and I would kick and scream if I ever changed it...too many customers have had problems with the 64k imo...look at all the problems with the gemplus ones, not a day goes by that a customer dosen't come into my store with a phone that says 'insert sim'....

The only real difference between the cards is that the Globetrotter has wi-fi while the other two are just quad-band gsm/gprs/edge. I've gotten the Sierra in at my store and was not too impressed with the packaging compared to the sony. I've typically had the best luck with the sony card. Since you have voice service as well, unlimited data on one of these would only be 59.99...without a voice plan unlimited is 79.99. I know ...
