Old Omnia

I'm a power user of the older Omnia. I have a better form of windows mobile 6.5 than this version. Other than the screen, is there really an advantage in upgrading? I know that the specs are better but I'm worried that there won't be the ROM's available for this version to make it worth it.

You're putting it in the wrong place. You need to put it in "My Storage". It sounds like you're putting in "My Device".

The only way I've found is to replace the notify.wav and alarm2.wav in the windows/ folder with blank .wav files. So it will still notify you, but you shouldn't be able to hear it. Or you could put it in etiquette mode if you don't need to get calls.

It's essentially a partition. I'm guessing Windows Mobile 6.1 doesn't really know about partitions. So the hard drive is 8 GB with 100 MB in program memory where the OS is and the rest of it is labeled as My Storage. You can add another 16 GB by adding a memory card and I believe it labels this Storage Card.

Does the USB cable used to sync the phone also charge it? Thanks.

Extended Battery
Jul 9, 2008, 3:09 PM
in the Pantech PN-820 forum

I just bought this phone for a couple of my heavy users and they are having trouble with the battery life. One of them had the extended battery in the past and that helped but I can't find them anymore. Does anyone have any idea where I could find one? Thanks.

When will they make this phone with a microsoft OS? I know that they won't make this one but I would really like this phone if it had Microsoft. I know its not an improvement but I NEED it.

I had my Lexus LX470 into service and told lexus about the phone not ringing. They said that other customers have had the same issue and they got the new phone from verizon and it solved this issue. Has anyone else heard about this?

When I first saw all these Gmail posts, I thought I didn't need one, but since you have to wade through 2 gmail posts to get to a v710 one. I would like to play along. Greatbuemett@hotmail.com Thanks!

Cool, I am glad to see that works. Have you fixed the problem with getting the phone to ring? I know it is obvious when the radio turns off but if you are not listening to the radio you have to notice the screen.

Does the one touch dial go away after you turn the car off? I did enter several numbers on it but they went away. I havn't been able to experiment further. Also, if I had a non-crippled phone do you know if I could transfer numbers using that phone and then use that phonebook with the v710?

Lexus LX470

I have a Lexus LX470 (well, my boss does anyways) and I have paired the phone with the truck but I can't transfer over the phone book from the phone to the truck. Is this because of the lack of OBEX capabilities or am I missing something? this is quite a problem because it basically prevents you from calling out while driving.
