if ($phone == t7*0) $worksright != $worksright (if $phone !=t7*0) ... What works right for a t720 isn't all you'd expect from any other used phone... They're both (720 and 730) on the "Known Issues" list. :) I have 2 t730s here... I'd sell em for $50 each... standard battery, no accessories...

Verizon Wireless has class, and has top notch customer service, with few complaints for such a LEADING PROVIDER in the wireless industry. BT will be locked liek the TF is now... you can't put the pre-installe dpics or mp3s on it, nor can you put GIN/BREW crap on it... so, no, GIN won't be affected, because you won't be abel to xfer the apps (and they're signed by ESN anyway... can't even transfer them from one phone to anothe rof the same model...)

The one local plan dropped from 1400 mins to 1200... but that's it as far as plans go. Phone prices are fixed through 11/28... :(

Some back story... before my forays into the wireless world with radio shack, I worked for a small company called "Battery Works"... We did everything... re-energizing, rebuilding, manufacturing new packs to customer specifications, test and install of on-sire battery banks and floor scrubbers... Everything from watch batteries to fork-lift batteries, we did it... I know far more about batteries than I ever want to at this point... Lithium batteries have very little memory effect to them, it's there, but ...

sorry, but it's 330mw max output for any handheld cellular device. That's PEP, so the actual RF finals may get .6w put into them, but only .33w comes off the antenna.

1 bar means you'll get text messages and possibly call out... anything > 1 bar is usually good... what they really should do is put a square there... off == no sig... blink == coin-toss and solid == should be fine to call... It's a leftover from the analog days... since you can "hear" a tower up to 30 miles away, but your phone can't speak to it that far, AFAIK on cdma the closed loop power control is where ...

Yeah, internal support sucks A$$! They won't even move upgrade dates up by even one day... I found a way around it though... "Sir, they won't move your upgrade date up anymore, we used to be able to pull strings but they just won't do it... Now if you throw your phone about 20 feet in the air and let it land on the concrete outside, and come back in, they'll definitely change it..." Out mr customer goes to ...

I can't speak for my customers, but I do know that we have the quickest "time to live" on customer support... generally less than 4 minutes and you're talking to a human (and 99% of the time they speak English better than half my customers do)... I've seen porters from ATTWS wait 37 minutes on hold just to check for a middle initial and out of contract status... 37 freaking minutes on hold!!! Jeeebus!

Actually it will... I have a form sitting in front of me for ESN exceptions... We fill it out, fax it in, they give it a hairy eyeball, and fax it in somewhere else, and there those people call the manufacturer's unlisted level (insert somethign like avogrado's number her) tech line and verify that it's GPS, they sign off on it and fax it to the hardware demons... and now if the ESN is still readable (3 faxes) they ...

Re: Woah, VZW's churn rate INCLUDES PREPAID!!!! Holy Moo!
Oct 29, 2004, 4:38 PM
in the Verizon forum

yeah, just from my limited contact with prepaid customers when working for radioshack ( 2 yrs ) the churn rate has to be something like 30% of all prepaids... so if our churn figure of 1.6% or whatever it is includes that, the actual post-paid churn is probably only 0.75% :) Nice to know, and comforting in those hours when there's nobody at my kiosk and the AT&T/nextel kiosk has 2 or 3 captivated customers...

manual programming will fix that... it puts in the SID/NID pairs... the ones in it currently are sprint's SID/NID... you'll swap it with VZW's SID/NID and it'll hit a VZW tower... and *22891 is the option you can use to do the PRL update.
