The only thing I could think of would be spectrum in the rural areas where US Cellular seems to be the only option. Customers says VZW doesn't work where their US Cellular phone does. As far as the company as a whole, nothing is going right. Everyone from the Jack Rooney era left at least a year ago (writing on the wall perhaps?), most people from the Mary Dillon era are gone or on their way out. So now they ...

What's there to say? People seem to think the grass is greener elsewhere. I think it will lead to poorly qualified, under tenured individuals taking leadership roles and compounding the problem.

It was US Cellular or technically Xerox who handles US Cellular as a vendor.

Rep: Here's a novel idea! Why don't you let me take that payment over the phone and we'll be all set? Cust: No, I already wrote the check. I always due it this way. Rep: I understand. However, your payment is past due and could result in suspension of service. There is no extra fee to make a payment with me. Cust: If you suspend my service, I am cancelling and going somewhere where they can help me! Rep: I will be ...

Nothing is running smoothly with TOPS and I don't think it ever will. I think whoever is in charge of updating the software or fixing the issues will always be 5 steps behind. Meanwhile, the customers are told to call back later. One customer I know of has had his phone suspended for a month because TOPS will not allow us to restore it. What's the benefit of having to do ten steps instead of the previous three for an ...

The customer that would swear on a stack of Bibles that you overcharged them or that someone from the company promised something. So you try to explain the situation, but they feel they are right and refuse to listen. Then you say something that makes them think and they're like, "Oh.... (sigh) whatever". You know you have scored a major victory but it's so deflated that you don't gloat.

How would you handle a situation in which a customer purchased a phone from your store, never activated it, and then came back, said the phone was stolen, and now they want you to mark the phone as lost or stolen. If the phone was never activated, how can you put a status on it? Would you activate the ESN long enough to mark it as lost or stolen and then put the orginal ESN back on?

THis is America!

I get a few customers every week that call in to complain about either the Spanish language prompt or a billboard in their town that advertises in Spanish. They always say the same things: "This is US CELLULAR! Why do I have to listen to someone speaking a different language?", "If they can't speak American (yes they say American), they shouldn't be here!" Then they threaten to cancel as if going to another carrier will be different. There's no reasoning ...

With the sale of the call center in Bolingbrook to Xerox, everyone has lost hope. It's like a prison in here, we are all treated like children who can't be trusted, there is no morale, and it seems like everyone higher up has an angle. I've had three coaches in the last two months and it seems like every other day we get an email saying a manager is no longer with the company. And then, there is the ...

I'm pretty much done with customers in general. Figure ish out on your own. Don't call in and say that it's my fault your service was disconnected when you didn't pay your bill for two months. Or that financial services being closed on Sunday is a reason for you to cancel without paying an ETF. Let's use our brains and think before we call in to gripe about the fact that you couldn't exchange your phone after you've had ...

Is it possible that the associate did not know when the buyout would occur? I know a lot of times decisions are made and information is withheld concerning dates because things could change. Is Sprint offering anything to you as far as incentive to switch to them?

That does seem a little fishy. However, you did buy the phones. It would also seem to be common sense that US Cellular phones would not be compatible with another carrier's network. Shame on the representative for not at least questioning the possibility of the US Cellular phone working on another carrier's network. Do you get to take those points with you or will US Cellular offer you something in exchange?

Why do customers struggle so much with the concept of having to pay a premium for phone insurance and then if they have to file a claim they have to pay their deductible? It works just like car insurance or health insurance. WTF?!

Anyone in the markets that are being sold off are getting the shaft when it comes to new phone prices. No promo pricing like the other markets. Not that it matters much considering once they upgrade their phone, it won't work on Sprint's network. I wonder what USCC will do about contracts for new customers once Sprint takes over?

I can't stand when co-workers bring odiferous foods to their desk. I do not want to smell ranch dressing and baslamic vinagerette all day because you want to snack between calls. And at least the decency to throw it away in a garbage can that is not two feet from me. And who in their right mind drinks pickle juice?

That sounds like a call I was transferred yesterday. A customer escalated to me and wanted us to give him a new phone when we hadn't completed any troubleshooting on his current handset yet. I told him we would go through some troubleshooting first and then talk about replacing the phone if that did not work. The customer then proceeded to tell me he was going to "blow your ****ing head off" if I didn't give him a credit. ...

Why is my bill so high?

Well Ma'am you haven't paid your bill in three months so the service was suspended. When we restored it, there were restoral fees per our terms and conditions that I'm sure you read thoroughly. If you noticed, you were not billed for the time your services were suspended. No, you need to pay the full past due balance in order to restore service. I'm sorry if you need your phone for work, I would imagine a service as important ...
