U can change the # of secs your phone rings
I called vzw and they told me that the standard ring length before the phone goes to voice-mail is 25 seconds; however, you can customize the length to your personal preference. I changed mine to 30 seconds. No extra charges for this guys. Can you believe that?

you only have to chg the ext if you are going to e-mail your files to your fon. With the TF card no need to chg.

Yes, we have 2 fons and it's the same on both. That's what prev people were complaining about. The only way I found to make it work is to goto media gallery and select the mp3 file, then menu, apply as ring tone. However, this changes all the ringtones (loud, soft, vibe/ring) to that ring tone. I then can select is as a ringer id and have to set back my previous settings back b4 I did the apply ...

Everyone seems to think that when you transfer a mp3 from your pc, to your TF card, and then move it to your phone that you cannot use it as a ringtone. it was discused how to accomplish this using iTunes to create the mp3 ringtone (25secs). I tried the LG vx7000 for 2 weeks and people said I was yelling in the phone, I upgraded to the v710 when it came out and there are times when people say they can barely hear me and vice/versa

The headset cannot be conected, it has to be dropped from the v710. then whn fon rings, u can just tap the headset and call wl auto be trans to headset. I have a shortcut to the BT on the v710

I was able to us BT on my friends ipaq. I used the phone as a dial up connection.

If u don't care about BT or speaker, I would definately get the VX7000. Camera and video is much better, but the V710 can record up to 3min of video if you have a TF card while the LG only does 20secs of video at a time.

You are absolutely right, $320.00 is a lot for a cell in 2004, but I didn't mind spending it However, almost everyone complains about the volume being low in comparison to other cell phones. I had to put the LG VX7000 on it's lowest setting and it was still too loud in most cases. I don't think it's our ears but you trying to justify your spending of $320 by pretending there isn't a problem with the volume ...

I've had my phone since 7/31/04. I'd wait until the second generation. Otherwise, best phone VZW has. If LG had spkr phone, memory card, mp3 capable, and bluetooth, I wldn't hv the moto. LG is much more user friendly and has less bugs, better camera, and the volume is 3x's louder than the v710. But, the v710 most bang for the buck despite it's short comings.

Yep, just use the TF adapter that comes w/TF card and a SD reader. Make sure u format the TF card using the fon 1st tho
