When is the release date for the Wine Red color? I've heard December 5. Can anyone confirm? Thanks, in advance.

You might need to get the Sprint version of the PDF manual. The generic version of the phone is much different (as is the manual). Get it here: http://www.sprint.com/cdma/support/pho ne_guides/motorola/motoslvr.shtml

Its coming very, very soon. Expect a launch no later than the first week of November. Rich Brome does not even have it listed as 'tentative' and, well, he's incorrect on this one. Sorry, Rich.

It has used the mini USB port on all phones for over a year and most GSM models for almost two years. All of the slim models have used the mini USB port, which is excellent. Time to wake up.

everman said: No you didnt. Verizon had the cdma Razr several months before US Cellular got it, or at least released it. This is incorrect. Alltel had it first (November), then Verizon (week after Thanksgiving), then USCC (December 16). No carrier had an exclusive on the V3c and the timing of the release by each carrier had everything to do with each carrier's testing and nothing else. Care to wager?

Re: New Phones???
Jun 9, 2006, 1:25 PM

I only know USCC will test the SLVR, which means a great deal. The V3c is an excellent phone, especially with the firmware update. If the phone doesn't have the update, you will be able to have it done at a USCC tech center very shortly. All new V3c phones come with the updated firmware though not likely on eBay at this point. The V3c will be phased out eventually with the V3m, the only difference being the TF card ...

SLVR for CDMA? Yes. Verizon and/or Sprint will have it first sometime before September. USCC likely will have it in the 4th quarter. Moto Q? USCC likely will get it in the late fall. Expect a rollout of EV-DO by then. FYI...I'm just a customer. Love the service and the V3c, which is flat-out the best phone USCC has ever carried.

In the U.S. of A, CDMA is around 50% of the marketplace. Who cares about the rest of the world when it comes to CDMA! Yes, GSM is dominant worldwide but that's not the point here. Like it or not, CDMA is very strong in the States.

Re: v3c external issue
May 9, 2006, 9:37 PM
in the U.S. Cellular forum

Actually, date issue is related to the number of available pixels on the external screen. A tech center can change the date format if its a big deal and the techs have been doing this for 2-3 months but if you do a Master Reset, the formatting will return to the double-date because of the original firmware. The firmware update will solve the double-date issue. I agree there is absolutely no need to send out the phone to get ...

Hey, troller...We're not ripping Cingular. Its a fact Verizon will surpass Cingular. Its a fact Verizon was No. 1 in 17 of the 18 largest markets it serves except for Chicago, where USCC took the top spot. Nothing wrong with Cingular but we don't care about Cingular. This thread went off on a tangent due to someone thinking USCC can be the top carrier in terms of subscribers. I say it cannot be done despite the fact I think USCC is ...

USCC cannot go true nationwide as its licensed in 26-27 states. It can only offer service to customers in those states. Cingular does have a lot of churn but Verizon does not. Verizon will overtake Cingular within a year or less. Verizon does not have a need to lower rates as it continues to grow. Nextel was bought out by Sprint; doesn't matter if other carriers offer PTT. That's just the natural evolution of the PTT service. As for USCC using Verizon ...

Its an improvement from my vantage point. I check my voicemail in Vegas, Miami, Alabama, Ohio, etc. I also get my data in those places as long as I am pulling from a Verizon tower. As you know, USCC is not a national carrier, but is a super-regional carrier. In Chicago, its on-par (or better) with all the big boys. So, for me, I have no major complaints. Even BT is fully open on the V3c -- a big selling ...

1. True nationwide does exist with its National Plans with no roaming. And data roaming is available in most markets now. It actually blankets the country whereas VZW's covers most of it. 2. Pricing for retail does stink. But, at least in Chicago, you can get the RAZR for $49 net. Its the retail pricing that blows. 3. USCC offered the CDMA RAZR within days after it came out with Alltel and VZW. While its likely Verizon will have exclusives on ...

A CDMA version of the SLVR is in the works but it won't be released until late summer. I have no idea if USCC will take it but its likely to be on Verizon. I'll take wagers, too. As for USCC being way behind, well, that used to be the case. Its phone lineup has improved dramatically and will continue to get better, especially when EVDO is launched, though its possible EVDO will be for PDAs and laptops at first.

There is a delay on the H3 but its similar to the HS850. I don't use my headset in this manner most of the time. I usually use it when I'm driving and I put it on (and turn on) when I get in the car. The HS850 might be a hair quicker when connecting.

The HS850 has come down in price. Its not being made anymore. The colors are black and silver. The H3 is currently out in black and silver and will be/should be out in the gun metal gray to match the V3c. I have both and use both. When the tweaks are worked out on my phone's firmware I will using the H3 primarily. I suggest you try out one or the other (or both) to see what works best for you. BTW, ...

Yeah, I'm aware. I use both the HS850 and the H3. The H3 will sometimes disconnect with the V3c when in standby/idle mode. It has to do with the firmware on the V3c (at least the Alltel and USCC firmware). The updated Alltel firmware for the V3c is out but not yet for the USCC version. The HS850 works great. The H3 works pretty good and likely will improve with the BT tweaks in the V3c firmware. The H3 is ...

Certainly a strange one. I've never seen it, either. The info is out there. Its on the USCC thread right here, posted last month at this time. Its also on Howard Forums. A quick call to the techs at USCC will do the trick, too. Just tell your customers it does not affect the performance of the phone in any way and that it definitely will be fixed.

Its a bug that affects all USCC and Alltel RAZRs. It will be fixed when the firmware update comes out...whenever that is.
