You would need a micro SD card but it should work. Depends on the format of your ringtones. BB uses alot of formats including plain old MP3's.

When you get a Blackberry you get a data packed. This includes getting your emails over the cell towers. Blackberry's are very good at this. Your blackberry connects to the internet via the EV-DO netowrk of your cell phone provider (mostly likely Verizon).

Telus offical version is .76. I have upgraded to .103 and i don't find much difference between the two. .103 is a little more buggy and has frozen on me more often and the accelerometer is a little more touchy and it's slightly faster. The camera is alot faster on .103 though. All in all it's a very minor upgrade between .76 and .103.

I think the default is 30 days but mine is 30 days. I have email attachments set to only keep for 3 days (these download to my main computer anyway).

That's what i figured it would do. The phone thinks its in it's case and locks. Should unlock as soon as you pull it away from the magnent.

I'm in canada with telus and i can just call my VM and press 2 to leave a VM with someone. Not sure if it works with other carriers but i've never had any use for it. If i don't want to talk to the person right away i just text them or email them.

I doubt very much it will screw it up...But it might make it think it's in it's case. I know there is a magnent in the case (my coins stick to the case) and i think that's how the phone know's its in it's case but i'm not 100% sure.

What are you looking for? there are thousands of apps for BB's. Some you pay for and some are free. This is not something that is just happening, There have been third party apps for BB's...probably as long as their have been BB's.

The only two things this phone does not have is the WiFi and the VOIP (right now you can't have VOIP without Wifi).
It has blackberry's email system which is one of the best. I have my emails go both to my work exchange server and my BB and my BB gets my email first everytime. I get full HTML on my storm.
It also has a range of office programs from spreadsheets to powerpoints ...

My VM indicator seems to be apart of my SMS box (This is my first BB so i'm not sure if that is normal for BB's). I have to go into my SMS box and look at the message that says i have a VM for the indicator to go away.

I play some of the older games on my storm and they work fine. Just have to pull up the number pad to control it which takes a little working out.

It locks files and it's free. Not 100% sure if it hides them but you can just rename them so someone doesn't suspect they are porn files and lock them say they are work related

This work for anyone else? I kinda really like the camera and i'm not going to get it without the camera. Are you guys able to do MMS messaging on this phone? I have the Telus Version (in canada) and we can't send MMS messages. Wondering if i get this US update that it will active the MMS.

You may have tried this but i do tech support so i have to ask all the stupid questions.
Is you headset around any devices that it may have previously sync'd with (make sure no other devices are auto syncing with your headset). Make sure your headset is in sync mode. Then have the storm search.

It is very specific. This is a forum for the blackberry storm 9530. So people can safely assume that those reading their posts have the Blackberry storm 9530. Therefor 'do not use' is as specific as one needs to be since that update is not for the phone that this forum is about.

Has anyone tried this on the Telus Version of this phone in Canada? I'm kinda hoping it activates the MMS feature of the phone since telus doesn't seem to have it on their phone.

The forum name is 'Research In Motion BlackBerry Storm 9530' And this update is for the Blackberry 9500 which is a different phone so what he said is not stupid. Most people on this forum are going to have the 9530 since that's the name of the forum. I'm sure lots of the info on this forum will transfer over to the 9500 but the advice is still valid.

4 clicks? where do you get this? I press the green phone button and it pulls up the phone then dial. Or i press contacts and find the contact i want to call and hit the phone button and it dials that contact. 1 or 2 clicks max. Not sure how you get any simpler than that.
