Get your facts straight. The tethering option is the same cost for the Droid as it is for any other PDA/BlackBerry/Smartphone.

Re: Employee Benefits

Oh and what are the employee phone lines plans like? I've read/heard horror stories about them basically being consumer plan with a discount and that upgrading or adjusting plans is a nightmare.

Employee Benefits

in the Verizon forum

Hey guys, I have a question for the employees. My stint with Comcast has been less that desirable and I really do miss the wireless industry. I had a question regarding the health benefits for VZW, because even though Communistcast is a pretty crappy company they do have great benefits. Any information or insight relating to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Yean, My advantage club line was converted over to a sero line when I left Sprint, I had the $19.99 rate for the BB add on with my 8703 which carried over when switched to SERO. I recently upgraded to the 8830 and had to switch to the $29.99 BB add on. What are the chances that the add on they gave me has PAM included?

Re: Can you recieve calls while on the web???
Nov 20, 2007, 10:17 PM

If you are *actively* transferring web data you will not be able to receive a phone call and any inbound calls will be routed directly to voice-mail. However if your data session is idle you will be able to receive and make phone calls.

What a shame cozi-1, I guess that means you can't discuss Sprint's WiMax deployment plans in a private one on one conversation with him and thus have to discuss it in an open public forum such as this.

Re: The Mobile Solution (UPDATE)
Aug 6, 2007, 3:45 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

Any one of us could have told you that employment at Mobile Solution was a horrible idea from the start. You personally may not have encountered any dishonest reps or managers but I assure you that someone, somewhere that you work with would eventually have committed fraudulent activity. I was fired from TMS for being insubordinate. Translation, I refused to do any fraudulent activations and changes to a customer's account because I have integrity. Sadly, this kind of behavior ...

So far Comcast is "aight", the benefits definitely blow Sprint's out of the water, but I'm still in training. It's about a nine week process before I'm actually up and running in the sales department so I have another six weeks left. How are my favorite old school soldiers doing back at the PCS fort?

Re: Sprint 2nd quarter numbers
Jul 24, 2007, 8:54 PM

Pivot is the initial foray into the cellular industry for Comcast. To start it will be a joint venture but once WiMax launches I see Comcast starting to become more interested. Both companies have ALOT of growth potential in terms of offering new and unique services, and they can only benefit if they join forces.

I just had a tear trickle down my face, not because I was reminiscing of all my days at Sprint but from laughing so hard because they still haven't fixed the issue. P.S. Comcast isn't much different

This has to be Mobile Solution, why oh why does T-Mobile insist on keeping them on board as a reseller? I would think the reputation of T-Mo is much more important to them than company who pumps out the most acts.

Today I bid adieu to the cellular industry, if only for a brief interim. Surprisingly, for all my bitching and complaining, this has been one of the most interesting and fulfilling jobs that I've had in my working career. I give props to my dear friend and fellow forum member coziamnumber1 for introducing me to and getting me started in this industry. I wouldn't consider a lack of features to be 'kinks' that need to be worked out for the next iteration of a device. Step up their models? To the level of the iPhone? Exactly what world are you living in?

Re: AT&T
Jun 28, 2007, 4:55 PM

So it makes Sprint desperate because they are keeping their share holder's and clientele's best interests in mind? Has AT&T or VZW made any moves to offer a viable solution or work around to this matter? As Rich has pointed out they too are affected by the ITC ban.

Re: NO1's talking lets Start a debate...
Jun 28, 2007, 1:34 PM
in the Sprint forum

I'm noticing in the other threads they are not really making any compelling arguments, just "churn" this "my friend said they suck" that. Sprint has, does, and always will own in all metrics when it comes to data. I understand the argument that not everyone needs or wants a phone that can download music or watch TV, however this market will eventually shift into a strictly data based business model. Companies will start migrating and focusing on a data network ...

Re: Is insurance/ total equipment protection generally worth it?
Jun 28, 2007, 11:16 AM
in the Sprint forum

Yes I would strongly endorse insurance because in the long run it pays for itself. Many consumers fail to grasp the concept of the pricing of cellular devices, and feel that insurance is a "rip off", most see a $29.99 on the price tag and think thats how much it costs to manufacture so in their mind they are already thinking phones are fickle and disposable, which they are not. Phones are tools not toys. The insurance is provided by ...

Jun 27, 2007, 11:17 PM

*scratches head* But Sprint IS getting the Curve, hence why I made the comment, a simple search in Google would have revealed that. I also seem to recall Verizon and AT&T carry iterations of PDAs and smart phone devices (like the Treos) as well which are not 2nd gen PDAs with a cellular radio in them. Which laptop sized phones might you be referring to anyway? Personally, I'd rather that Sprint *didn't* carry Motorola products because Moto simply has lost ...
