Re: bluetooth echo?
Ah. Thanks. But actually, I'm talking about a known echo for the CALLED party (NOT the caller using the phone), with using a bluetooth headset on the E815. I believe it's a known issue. Well, it's an issue for people I call, anyway.
bluetooth echo?
For anyone with the Razr using bluetooth ... any occurrances of bluetooth echo for the call recpient, like there is frequently with the E815?
Keys lockdown
Haven't used this phone yet, but I understand it has overly-sensitive side keys (easy to accidentally push in a pocket), like the E815. Does the Razr have an option to lock the keys (EASILY) like on the E815, i.e., by pushing MENU and * ??
Re: Found it! Definition of the term "sidetone" for those echo concerns!
A good example of what one user finds as a negative and another user finds as a total positive. Case in point: No phone can please everyone.
Re: Can you hear yourself talk?
INDEED! This feature of hearing your own voice is called side-tone (I believe), and it's intentional, and it's a feature I happen to like. In fact it's one reason why I prefer Motorola phones because no other manufacturer (to my knowledge) has this feature. Especially in a loud environment, it's helpful to hear one's own voice (in my opinion), to facilitate a reasonable talking volume level with the person on the other end. KUDOS Motorola!!!!!
charging ports v3 to v3c
Sorry if this is known fact, but can someone tell me if the charging ports on the v3c the same as for the v3? I ask wondering if travel and dual desktop chargers designed for the v3 also will work for the v3c. Thanks.
bad camera?
I'm convinced I got an E815 with a bad camera (it takes worse pics than my previous V265 AND LG7000--pics have virtually NO definition regardless of light). I've seen pics from other E815 users that look obviously better online. So, my question is, how can I convince Verizon store support my camera is bad, and convince them to let me do an exchange through warranty (have had the phone about 2 months)? Any opinions would be ...
Re: V325
Since you've been testing this phone, I'm wondering if you could answer a few questions abou it:
1) Does the speakerphone operate with the flip closed (like the E815)?
2) Is the voicedial and voice commands functionality updated like the E815? Or, is it streamlined and outdated like the V265 (requiring an extra step to call, i.e., "name dial," "call John.")?
3) How is the earpiece volume?
4) How is the ringer (external speaker) volume?
Really appreciate any info you can provide.
Re: Do I have a bad camera on my E815?
I hear what you're saying, but it's apparent that this phone does NOT take very good pics (at least compared to many other camera phones). Of course, a digital camera will take much better pics, and we all have come to not expect GOOD pics from a camera on a phone. That having been said, some phones with cameras DO take better pics than other phones with cameras. So, all I'm saying is that the E815 ...
Re: Do I have a bad camera on my E815?
That's kinda what I suspected. Apparently, it's just a crappy camera on this phone (and not just mine). I've seen pics fromthe 9900, and they ARE much better. I've also previously had the Moto V265 and the LG 7000, and BOTH took better pics (even the 265 with it's crappy screen, still took better pics than the E815. Somehow I just thought that a better phone (like the E815, which it IS..a better phone) also would ...
Re: Camera Zoom?
Ah. Ok. It just seems odd that there would be a reading for 1x, 2x and 4x but not 3x ... Guess it's just the way it's supposed to be.
Re: Do I have a bad camera on my E815?
I typically send my cam pics to my email address. Costs for each, however.
Camera Zoom?
Also, on my E815, the camera shows:
Zoom: 1x
Zoom: 2x
Zoom: 4x
But there is no Zoom: 3x. Is this a camera flaw only on my phone, or does Zoom: 3x NOT show up on all E815s?
Anyone, anyone?
I'm trying to determine if I have a bad cam (phone).
Do I have a bad camera on my E815?
Any opinions or help?
I can't believe how poor the quality is of pics I take with my new E815. The pics look great on the camera screen, but when transferred to the computer, they are absolutely LOUSY. Cannot get clarity in the images no matter what. Even in bright outdoor light, a closeup on a face is fuzzy. Not blurry, just no detail or crispness. Very, very poor. Even worse then my previous ...
Re: v265 software questions/glitch?
Thanks again. I've got the identical software. And towers in Chicago here are great. Verizon's been great with my other phones. So, must be 2 bad phones in a row. Think I'll take it in and try for a third. FYI. I just turned my phone off and back on. This time it took literally 60 seconds from the button push until it actually found a signal. Definitely not good!
Re: v265 software questions/glitch?
Funny thing is, this is my second v265, and both did the same thing. Hard to believe 2 in a row are bad, but certainly not impossible. Thanks for your input.
v265 software questions/glitch?
After using this phone for a week and a half, my only complaint is software bugginess. Does anyone else have these problems: From when I turn on the phone until a signal is found, it can take up to 35 seconds. No other phone I've had takes that long. Is this normal for this phone? Is it just mine? Also, the software sometimes jams up if I move to fast from one command ...
Re: V265 is a VERY GOOD phone but manual sucks, how can I...
I've had this phone for over a week now, and I doubt very much there is a way to display the date all the time on either screen. It's been overwritten by Verizon, I believe. The only way it's gonna happen is through a hack from software...doubt any official update will address it. (Just my opinion, so if you figure out a way to do it, I'm alll ears!).
Re: Screen Quality
Right, I'm aware that the phone DOES have the day/date accessible (via numerous steps). All I've said is that the phone does not display it automatically on either screens. It's hardly a negative to the phone ... really more of a non-factor, in my opinion.
Re: Screen Quality
Yes, the keypad lights up blue (it's light sensitive, as in it only lights when it senses surrounding darkness necessitating it, which is a nice battery-saving feature).
Ringtones sound fine to me, but that's a very subjective thing.
The menu is OK. Typical of Motorolas. There are manufacturers with better menus, in my opinion.
As far as the 720, I've never used that phone, so can't compare it.
Re: Screen Quality
The v265 does have the time, of course, but not the day/date. If it can be set in the preferences, I've yet to figure out to how to do it. And i've yet to have a phone that required you to go out of your way to add the day/date. So,,, i dunno.
Re: Screen Quality
Don't know the answer to your question about an update. I doubt it's a flaw. I assume it's the nature of the phone. In my opinion, it's hardly a big deal -- I tend to remember what day it is!!!
Re: Screen Quality
The external display is white/black (blue musta been a discoloration in the photo). And it IS readable without the backlighting.
One surprising fact is that neither the internal nor external displays show the day or date at all...ever (only the time)!
Re: mini review
I think you'll have to try it out and see. It might be just my phone. But it's jammed up a couple times when it shouldn't already. It just is much slower (compared to my last couple phones--LG and Motorola) in responding to commands mainly on saving files, everything from ringers, to txt messages, to photos. etc. Takes longer to save files and to allow the next function... It's a nuisance ... probably more so ...
mini review
Bottom line: There are pros and cons to the v265... it comes down to your priorities for a phone. None of 'em are perfect. If camera and screen quality are not top on your list of priorities for a phone, this is a good choice.
Admittedly, the screen is not great. The prob. is not so much its size, but it's quality ... just very dull. As far as the camera ... I only want it ...
Re: Smaller than V60i
you're not gonna find much smaller than the v60. The 265 is a little bigger than the v60, but a good (small) size.
Re: Flash anyone
No flash.
This really is NOT the phone for anyone who cares about the camera on a phone. It's an afterthought. But as a phone (and after all, it IS a phone), it's pretty nice.
Re: on sale TODAY at Verizon (at least in Chicago)
Can't compare it to the vx6100 because I haven't heard that one. It is, i think, slightly lower volume than the vx7000, which is good since the vx7000 is great! In my opinion the earpiece volume is slightly better than the v60 series. Haven't tried the speakerphone yet. As far as the screen, I'm the wrong guy to ask, since it's not a big deal for me. It is what it is, and as ...
Re: on sale TODAY at Verizon (at least in Chicago)
actually i just purchased it at the Michigan Ave. store. No rebate coupon yet, though.. probably next Friday when it's "supposed" to go on sale. The earpiece volume is better, but still not as good as my LG 7000, which is unfortunate, but hopefully it will be good enough.
on sale TODAY at Verizon (at least in Chicago)
Verizon store says the phone IS on sale today. This may be a regional decision, so can't speak for other markets.
Re: Saw the phone today...(Radio Shack)
heya. What's your opinion on its earpiece volume? Is it decent, better than the v710 and v60s (if you're familiar with those)?
Re: Saw the phone today...
Ringers aside, I'm really wanting to know about the EARPIECE VOLUME. That's the usual downside of most Motorolas. If you've had a chance to test the earpiece volume, would really appreciate a report. Thanks.
Re: Saw the phone today...
any chance you were (or are) able to fire up one of those puppies and let us know how the earpiece volume is. That's my only issue with Motorolas. I only hope it's better than the v60 series (and OF COURSE the v710)????????????????
Re: Saw the phone today...
The manager at the radio shack I visited today in Chicago has never even heard of the phone. Just odd--that's all!
Re: V265 Impression
Earpiece volume level on this phone better (lounder) than the v60 (and v710)? I sure hope so. If only Motorola would offer an earpiece volume comparable to StarTac/Timeport and current LG's. Here's to hoping for the best.
Re: V265 Impression
Thanks for the impressions. What I'd really like to know is whether the earpiece volume is better/higher than the v710 and even the v60 series. Would really LOVE it if the v265 had earpiece volume closer to the recent LG models. I'm not aware of any Motorolas since the StarTac/Timeport that have had adequate earpiece volume (in my opinion). Any thoughts/impressions?
Re: VX7000 - Delay when answering incoming call
Yes. This is a VERY ANNOYING feature of this phone, and one main reason (others being its "brick" size and ugly exterior design and color), that I am looking for something else before the end of the year. I'm stuck with it for now though.
HELP? on questions about activating with Verizon
Assuming the V810 definitely is not coming from Verizon (which I am, at this point) ... if I want to purchase a US Cellular V810 to activate on Verizon, ...
Is there a difference between a version I would purchase from USC and one I would purchase directly from Motorola?
Can both be activated by Verizon? And how easy is that process?
What can a non-Verizon software V810 NOT do if activated on Verizon? Other than Web and GPS, can ...
V265 launch status?
Any "credible" updates this week on the completion of testing, and/or planned Verizon launch of the V265?
Questions for V265 testers
For anyone who has used/tested the phone:
Like most past Motorola models, does the V265/262 have sidetone: the sound of your own voice in the earpiece when you talk?
Does the screen, although smaller than the V710 and V810, for example, feature the same displays/icons (via software program) as the V710 and V810?
