Questions From A Switcher
Jul 9, 2007, 5:19 PM
in the AT&T forum

Hi, I'm a current Verizon customer who is getting ready to make the switch to AT&T for the iPhone. I had a couple of questions before I purchased that I was hoping some of you could help me with. 1) How often can you upgrade phones with AT&T at discounted pricing? I know Verizon was very strict with their 2 year upgrade plan and you could only get a new phone at a reduced price after 20 months and if ...

Will a v3m sync with a Mac?
Jul 1, 2006, 8:54 AM
in the Motorola RAZR V3m forum

I've seen conflicting answers on varoius forums. Can anyone tell me if they've had luck syncing the contacts and address book to the V3m via bluetooth on a mac using iSync? I'm running OS 10.4.7 (released last week) which has a newer version of iSync. I'm due for a new phone on Monday and debating between this and the e815 which I know is supported. The only advantage I see over the e813 is VZ navigator which would have come in ...

15 day trial period
Jun 30, 2006, 8:03 PM
in the Verizon forum

I'm looking at upgrading my phone next week with my NE2 discount. Will the 15 day trial period on phones still apply when I use my discount? For example, I'm specifically concerned about the phone's reception and syncing contacts with my computer. If I have trouble with reception with a specific phone or trouble syncing contacts what's the policy on swapping the phone out for a different model? Are there any "catches" i need to be aware or afraid ...

Just wanted to check back again and see if there was any news. I'm looking forward to picking up a e815 phone next week. It would be nice if there were product bundles or any other specials going on. Thanks!

4th of July Specials?
Jun 25, 2006, 9:41 PM
in the Verizon forum

Hi- I'm eligible for my New Every 2 Upgrade on July 3rd and i absolutely cannot wait to get rid of a phone that has caused me nothing but problems. My question is pretty simple...are there typically 4th of July specials (or even better yet, are there any planned this year) that would make it wroth it for me to upgrade my phone on that day? I would not be changing my service level, but I am planning on purchasing ...

e813 Questions
Jun 21, 2006, 7:51 AM
in the Verizon forum

I'm eligible for upgrade in two weeks and have pretty much decided on the Moto e815. I know it's an older phone but it has all the features I need and most importantly it syncs with my Mac. I do have a few questions I was hoping someone could answer. 1) I'm very interested in VZ Navigator and noticed it's not currently offered on this phone. Any idea if this functionality will be available in the future? Is it a ...

Will the e815 be around in 2 months?
Apr 19, 2006, 2:47 PM
in the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood forum

I'm New Every 2 eligible with Verizon on July 3rd. The phone I have currently works well but I'm really looking to get into a bluetooth phone that will sync via iSync with my Mac. Right now the e815 seems to be the best option (the new Razr for Verizon doesn't sync Calendars which is a big deal for me.) I know the e815 is an older phone, but I haven't seen any signs of better offerings from Verizon. ...

Increase minutes without extending contract?
Jan 15, 2006, 12:03 PM
in the Verizon forum

As a result of an unexpected emergency (a friend's father died) I've used a ton of minutes on my cell phone this past week. As it stands I've only got about 100 minutes left and I'm not even half way through my billing cycle. I'm on a 450 minute $39.99 rate plan and would like to jump up to the next tier just this month to avoid going over my minutes. Problem is, I was told I was on ...

I agree customer service can be a problem, Though I had a good experience today and that gives me some hope. Ultimately I make my decision based on the quality of the network and in my area Verizon has the best network. I use my phone for business, sometimes in rural areas, and I just flat out need it to work. Cingular has some cooler phones and better rate plans with the rollover, and I've considered making the switch ...

I'm not really sure what to say other than I'm sorry you feel that way. It doesn't seem as though you enjoy your job very much. I'm an independent contractor for a large publishing company and work in one of the most successful and profitable territories in the country. Unlike my competitors, I was taught by my predecessor that our first priority isn't on the bottom line, but on customer service. I always put my customer first and bend ...

A follow-up... After speaking again with the store manager and the tech we settled on a compromise. I agreed to take another 4500 and the manager agreed to allow me to swap my phone out under warranty, should it become necessary, up until I'm NE2 eligible in July. My biggest concern is that my phone would work fine for 90 days and then sometime between now and July it would die while out of warranty and I would be totally ...

Ok so at the advice of everyone on this forum I called 611 on my phone and the CSR told me to take it to a tech.at a store. While I was on the phone with customer service my screen went crazy. So I took the phone to the Verizon retail store in town while the screen was still messed up. There was no tech so I spoke with the store manager. He agreed it was a problem but ...

I am now on my 5th LG VX4500 since in just over a year. Technically my 1 year warranty is up, however because I just had to have my phone replaced (again) before the warranty expired it was extended 90 days until the end of Nov. Now I'm having the same problems with my 5th phone and don't know what to do. My first phone died on the machine when I took it to Verizon to have a software ...

Will iTunes Phones come to VZW?
Sep 27, 2005, 6:15 AM
in the Verizon forum

I did a quick search for 'iTunes" on this forum and didn't see much discussion so I thought I'd ask. Is there any change we'll see an iTunes phone come to Verizon? From my understanding Apple's contract with motorola is not exclusive, I'm not sure what kind of arrangement they have with Cingular. I'm eligible for my new every two promotion next summer and am hoping VZW may have some new phones that include the iTunes software by then. -Katie

Around 4:30 this morning I got a series of calls from a number that was listed only as "restricted" can someone tell me what this means? I don't remember answering the calls (just silencing the phone, but it was 4am so who knows) but they showed up on my incoming call log twice for a few seconds each this morning. I've also been regularly getting phone calls from "Unavailable" numbers (typically about at the sometime every day, usually around 9:30 ...

Question about new "No Roaming" AC Plan
Feb 24, 2005, 11:53 AM
in the Verizon forum

I had some time to kill so I called VZ customer service yesterday to inquire about the new No Roaming plans. I just changed my plan a month ago so I was already on the AC 450 for $39, but I changed over a few weeks early to get the no roaming plan. I asked the rep exactly what the difference was between the "old" and "new" plans because when I pulled up the coverage map nothing appeared to have ...

There is a whole yahoo news group associated to this subject. Check out this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/maccellphone/ Basically, you're going to need a data cable to connect your phone to your mac and of course the proper Mac drivers for your cable (this can be the hardest part!) You'll also need the necessary modem scripts for you phone, and finally you'll have to configure a dialup location using your cell phone as an external modem. The files section of this group has ...

To change plans or not to change...

I signed a 2 year deal with Verizon in Sept., 600 minutes for $39.99 local digital choice plus $5 a month for long distance. I'm a law student so the local plan appealed to me s I'll be going to school in-state for the next 3 years. Sorry it took so long for someone to get back to your question, I hope you're still watching for an answer. I recently bought the VX 4500 and after a while have been able to get it to sync with my 10.3 mac with no problem. You'll need a USB data cable (which can be purhcased from eBay or radio shack) and then you'll need to install the drivers for you phone on your Mac as well as the modem ...

Newbie Text Message Question

I've never used Text messaging before so please forgive me because this is probably a very novice question, yet I can't seem to find the answer anywhere on Verizon's website. If I can text message across service providers does it cost me any more or would this be included in a ...

Re: VZW questionable billing practices

I too have had a few problems with Verizon's billing. My problem is it takes me nearly a week or two after my billing cycle has ended to receive my paper bill and I have to immediately turn around and mail a check in order to avoid a late payment. I like to sit down and write all my bills once a week. Usually my payment only shows up on my account day or two before the due ...

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I believe the VX 4500 DOES have a ring and vibrate option. I just pulled out my phone (which I've only had for a week so I am still learning) and one of the ringer options is "Vibrate and High" I'm not sure if this means it will vibrate and ring at the same time or vibrate then ring. I'm in a library now so don't really want to test it out! :) Overall ...

Hurricane Outages

I commute once or twice a month between two major cities in Florida and while my coverage is fine when I'm at one of my homes I just noticed ...

How important is Analog Really?
Aug 31, 2004, 4:02 PM

Just when I thought I had made a decision... For the past few years, I've been traveling around Florida working as an account rep. for a publishing company. Some of my accounts were in pretty rural areas so I thought it necessary to have a phone that had the ability to go into analog mode. Though in retrospect, I can't think of a single time my phone actually did go into analog mode. I occasionally would force it into analog ...

Contract Extension Question

Hoping a VZW rep can help me with this. I'm changing plans and therefore will require a one year extension to my contract. If I sign a new one year contract today, and 6 months from now I need to change my plan again (which I know I can do) will my contract be extended another year from the date of the plan change (so my year will restart) or will it still be a one year contract from the date ...
