Re: music art and album cover not displaying

I'm not sure how Rhapsody works regarding album art, but for my Itunes music or my own cd collection I usually rip the music into Windows Media Player and right click over the album and ask Windows to find album art. Once that's complete, I transfer the music over to my phone via usb and the synch option in WMP or use the micro sd with the adapter for transfer. This seems to work well and the Touch recognizes ...

If I understand your question, this is what I have for you: One way I found where this problem occurred is when I would set up an original text msg with the phone open (inside screen) AND using the feature that starts a text msg as soon as you start tying on the keypad. With this set up, if I composed the message first, scrolled up to pick who I was sending to and did not scroll out of ...

The only time I've had that problem is when I've sent texts to non-Verizon customers (ie. AT&T) and gone over the maximum 160 characters in the message. Verizon to Verizon text messaging has let me send more than 160 characters which is nice.

I'm not sure how you are pressing both the internal and external screens while texting from the qwerty keypad. Seems very awkward. That being said, I've not heard of or read of the screens going goofy with the enV2 and I've read tons of stuff. Sounds like a isolated malfunction. I'd say take it back and get a new phone.

I had the same question. Check the following link. A couple of posts down, Humpa gives a good explanation as to battery life. http://www.howardforums.com/showthre ad.php?t=1364322&page=46&pp=15

Just checked something else. On the inside screen, try going to Menu, 2 Messaging, left soft key-Settings, 1 Entry Mode and select Word. For mine it controls the outside screen method.

From the front screen, select OK, 2-Messaging, 1-New Message, Select OK again for OPTIONS, 1-Entry Mode, and 1-Word.

You CAN select a ? or ! or other puncuation in your text msg on front screen--just push on the number one (1) then push the 0 or Next button a few times and it gets you to punct. and symbols.

Not sure exactly how it compares to the specs but it's got the best battery life of any Verizon phone I've used. I got over 3 1/2 days on a full charge and that was with heavy use. Real solid in the battery dept.

Texting from the front of the screen is nice when you have to do it on the fly, with a quick text or to check a quick message, do it inconspicuously...etc. If you use t9 or what LG and VZW calls Word, you don't have to press a key several times to get a character. The program is intuitive. That's the beauty of t9 texting. If you haven't tried it, give it a go, and you'll be surprised ...

Thanks Nietzsch12 for your review. I've been interested in how the front screen will do with the limited arrow keys (up and down only). Sounds like texting from the front is limited, but works just fine. I guess the point of the phone is to encourage texting and navigation from the internal screen. They are saying over at hofo that the vibrate is weak, but could be improved with software updates. How's the phone look and feel? Form ...

Exterior screen navigation

in the LG enV2 (VX-9100) forum

This topic or related topic is currently being discussed some over on HoFo. The question I have is can you text from the exterior screen and how do you navigate left and right with the keypad set up on the enV2? Do the up/down arrows take care of all scrolling? I assume you can get to all the menus from the exterior screen? None of the written or video reviews out there really cover this.

Yep. Nearly the same size as the Venus. You can compare the specs. Personally I like the form factor. Looks sharp in silver and black. The video reviews do it better justice. Nice compact phone that will easily fit in a pocket. The specs on battery life looks really good too.

I wouldn't necessarily call the original enV stunning in appearance or an eye turner. At least the enV2 should lose the 'brick' label of the enV.

Replacement phone question
Jun 5, 2006, 11:55 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

Can we get our phone through the replacement site, then take it to a local verizon store and exchange it for a different phone? In other words do we have 15 days and once we get our phone can we deal with a local store for exchange or do we have to do all the dealing with the mail-in replacement stuff? I'm interested in the new LG 8300 but its not listed on the replacement page. Thanks ...

8100 background noise
Oct 13, 2005, 12:32 PM
in the LG VX-8100 forum

Is anyone else getting faint background noise during calls? Sound like light beeps or whirling sounds. It's not real loud but they seem to come every 30 seconds or so. You can usually hear them is quiet environments. Kind of like interference or something. Anyone? Any thoughts on what it is or how it can be corrected? Thanks.

I got to this part: You should see "SUCCESS" on the screen. But in order to enter the code, I had to hit the back key. This allowed the screen to receive my text entry. Was that the right sequence or did I miss something? I've yet to receive a call or call out to really check it. It might be hard to determine. I tried to set it to 10.

Wow. Can anyone confirm this question about Get It Now games? Does unlimited mean you get the game for good? Or is it just a one year subscription? What about airtime usage with the Get It Now games. Once you've paid for it and it is yours, you are not billed airtime to play it are you? I guess another call to tech support is in order. Ugghhh.

I've never got a game from Get It Now. If you purchase the "unlimited" then the game is yours. The when you open it up, you don't have to use your minutes to play do you? It's not tapped into Mobile Web or Get It Now airtime after that is it? All I need is a higher bill.

Cool. I am way up in NorCal, but I'll check the local Shack. I am still getting up to speed with the latest tech. This flash card is mainly for storage, is that right? Do you know if it's pretty easy to figure out how to work with and use?

Best place for headsets and transflash cards?

Bluetooth headsets and transflash cards seem to be the hot items for the 710. Where is the best place to shop for each or both of these things? What's a good price?

Thanks for the replies so far. This should give us a good idea about what to expect. I've been using my phone quite a bit, plus taking some pics, using speakerphone some, trying out mobile web once in a while and I am currently getting around 24 hrs before it gives me the low battery indicator. I've noticed that once one of the battery bars is gone, the battery seems to die at a faster pace. Anyone else experiencing ...

Get it Now question
Aug 15, 2004, 10:39 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

If I buy the unlimited play with 'Get it Now' game, where does it store it on the V710? Do I need to go into the 'Get it Now' service everytime I play? Would I be charged for airtime or does it become a piece of software on the phone? I couldn't find any decent explanation on the Verizon site. Thanks for any help

Aug 14, 2004, 2:11 AM
in the Motorola V710 forum

I messed with this for a while and was frustrated too. I found a way that works pretty well now. Instead of saying 'name, dial'--try saying just 'name'. It then should take you to the 'say the name' question. Then just state the name clearly. It's worked well that way for me. I hope this helps you out.

Slow voice mail (CLARIFIED)
Aug 12, 2004, 5:56 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

I should say that the voice mail notice/indication doesn't show on the phone until about 30-40 mins later. I did a test on my own, and checked voice mail, and it was their on the server soon enough. It's just not registering on the phone until way later.

Is anyone else getting delayed voice mail msgs (like 30-40 minutes) with their V710? Would it be the phone or the service? My phone will show a missed call, then half hour later, the voice mail shows up!

I take it you recommend the Jabra over the Moto headset? Any reason? Also, I want to get the transflash. Any recommendations? Is the transflash card strickly for memory or does it do more? Pardon my ignorance, I'm just now learning about some of this stuff. Thanks a lot for any help.

I know it's been talked about lots, but is the volume problem something Moto or Verizon can put a fix to? Hearing, after all, is essential to using a phone!!! I can hardly hear you now, Mr Verizon!

Mobile web question
Aug 12, 2004, 1:17 PM
in the Motorola V710 forum

This may a lame question, but, does the V710 come with Mobile Web 2.0 already installed. Do I understand it correctly that this is just the mobile web software/browser that comes on the phone? I went ahead and got the text msg/pic msg and mobile web package offered by Verizon. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

I got my 710 this morning. So far it's been ok. Slick phone with lots of features. It feels pretty solid in your hand. Looks more like a professional phone. The LG 7000 looks a little more trendy to me. Great screen display (smudges a bit). Menus are not too bad when you get used to it. I'm still learning th phonebook quirkiness. Camera and video image quality is fair. Overall, I'm going to give it 10 days or ...

Sorry about the confusion. I think you answered my question, but what I meant was--I am still over two months away from being able to use the NE2 $100 discount. I am wondering how soon someone could get a phone upgrade without paying the retail price of $419. If you're on the $59/mo. or more plan, do you qualify for a reduced price upgrade anytime after a contract begins? Or is it a year into your contract? 18 ...
