The one unanimous complaint everyone (who I assume all own Android phones) has is "It's not LTE capable." Big whoop. There are plenty of phones that ARE LTE capable, so if that's what they want, they should just go buy those phones. I am 100% happy with my iPhone 4 on AT&T's 3G network, and will happily buy the iPhone 4S at some point in the near future. People need to realize just because it's not an LTE device, doesn't mean it's ...

I also don't understand the hate the iPhone 4S is receiving. Just because they didn't make it a 4G capable device, give it a television sized screen, or put a 12mp camera on it doesn't make it a fail. Siri in itself is an enormous upgrade/feature that no other phone offered will have out of the box. Devs will no doubt start making apps that mimic Siri, but I doubt they will come close, or if they do, ...

Siri is "practically the same thing as Vlingo" in the same way that a Lexus is practically the same as a Kia because they are both automobiles. Siri goes way above and beyond Vlingo by not restricting you to certain commands that it recognizes. Vlingo won't launch a weather widget if you ask "Will I need an umbrella today?". This is an absolutely amazing feature for the iPhone 4S, and I'm not sure why there's so much hate toward it.

Exactly, Jellz. I've used Android phones, and they are cool. But there's a lot more going on that the user has to control that the iPhone handles automatically. I personally want a phone that does exactly what I need it to, when I want it to. I don't need to root (I can jailbreak if I really need more control over my iOS device), I don't need the ability to customize every last homescreen icon...my simple green icon that says ...

I've had an iPhone on AT&T's network since the first day the first one came out. I briefly switched to a Verizon iPhone 4 from Feb. 2011 to July 2011 because I thought the network would be better. I have absolutely zero complaints about AT&T's 3G network speeds I get in my 72,000 population city in eastern central Wisconsin. Both networks seemed to perform at the same level, and by switching back to AT&T, I saved ...

Of course you'll call BS. You've already said you call BS. No matter what link I find you, you'll find some way to say it's not reliable, or trustworthy. As I said before, what I originally SHOULD have posted was "Tim Cook was cited saying there will be an announcement of the new iPhone on October 4th." But since you requested: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/201 1/09/21/apple-event-october-tim-cook-allthing sd_n_973481.html I hope Huffington Post is a reliable enough soure for you.

Actually on Sept. 21st, sources cited Tim Cook saying he would make the announcement about the iPhone 5. I wish to edit my original post of "Apple announced..." since it wasn't the official announcement. But, since the info all over internet news sites coincided, it held a lot more water than the usual Apple rumors.

So you've never anxiously waited for a phone to come out and speculated its features and form factor? I've seen multiple Beta versions of iOS 5 in action, so I can pretty much tell you exactly what the new iPhone will be able to do in terms of software. I just hope it's not TOO much like the Android OS though. Even if some of the features are similar, I'm still willing to bet the execution will not remind us of Android at all. People say that Apple is behind the curve for wirless phone technology, but when they release a new iPhone or OS, they perfect it, and it's nothing short of amazing. Apple never ceased to impress me, so I am really looking forward to iOS 5.

It's definitely not a crappy app. It far surpasses doing a search in your browswer or looking in a phonebook for the address and phone number of a building/store/restaurant etc. No it's not turn by turn navigation with spoken word directions, but that's not what it's supposed to do. If I need turn by turn navigation, I'll spend the lousy $150 on a small Garmin GPS unit.

What I see wrong is that you can get some top of the line Android smartphones for $50 if you find the right promotion. My buddy just got the HTC Inspire for AT&T through Target mobile for $49.99. That sure as hell has a better OS than 2.1 on it, and it's at the $50 price point you mentioned.

Android 2.1 has been available for a while now. There's no reason this phone shouldn't have been upgraded to it a while back. My Original Motorola Droid had 2.1 and was upgraded to Froyo in early summer of last year already and they are just now pushing 2.1 out to this phone. They should have just discontinued this phone if the OS is so far behind the curve.

I don't think that it's grounds for a legitimate lawsuit, cause you're not paying extra for the apps they install. The retail price of the phone is the same as it always was. Yes it's stupid they pre-install certain apps, yes it's even more stupid you can't remove them without rooting your device, but there is nothing illegal about them doing it. I'll just touch on this point quickly: Rooting your phone is very simple (there are ...

My best guess will be that they will have a huge disclaimer that says that any irreparable damage done to the device because of rooting, flashing custom ROMs, over/underclocking the processor, etc. will completely void the warranty. It is easy to do all that stuff if you know what you're doing, but it's just as easy to brick the device if you screw things up if you aren't experienced with Linux based code. As long as HTC ...

And using South Park as a credible source is completly ridiculous...you can't possibly compare real life to a cartoon on Comedy Central. Wow. I don't think getting rid of the physical camera button was a good idea (if they keep it that way). One of the biggest complaints that reviewers of phone always have is "no physical camera button." Not much in my opinion. They made a marginal improvement to the pixel density, and put a dual core processsor in the X2. Unless there are more specifics to be announced, it doesn't seem like that much of an improvement from the original Droid X. If the picture depicted is the actual Droid X2, they didn't appear to change anything about that either.

I can't remember who found this out, or what post it was in, but Apple put a section in their terms & conditions that flat out tells you the phone will be collecting and storing location data. For that, it was a matter of people reading the whole T&C or just clicking "I Accept." If Apple didn't have that in their T&C, I'm sure they would be in a lot more legal hot water.
